Got a 24" R92SS, octagonal barrel 357/38 three weeks ago and it's amazing accurate and gorgeous and no issues whatsoever. Even loads shorter flat nose 38 special, 1.4 inch or less with no problems or eject issues. and didn't bleed all over the place loading ammo. Forget the TH-cam BS negative reviews.
Same here I never had any issues with my 2 rossi r92. I don't pay any mind to those negative reviews of this beauty. The 24 inch is the next one I want. The octagonal barrel is just beautiful.
Fun lever action rifles for sure. The 16 inch barrel is also fun to shoot. I might get the weaker ejector spring for my rossi's. Thank you for watching.
I bought a Rossi 16" saddle ring carbine last month in .357 and for sure they will turn you into an ammature gunsmith. I cut my finger on the loading gate port, it's very sharp! I also broke the ejector collar and the extractor within 100 rounds but I blame my oversized cast lead handloads for that NOT Rossi. They are both easily replaced but the extractor will require hand fitting if you should brake one. I am able to fit 9 .357 cartridges in the tube after cutting the magazine tube spring down. I took off 6" at first and then another 2" and it barely fits that 9th round but it does fit. I really like this carbine.
I get exactly what your saying. I worked on my buddies rossi's. Maybe I'll try that, cutting the mag tube spring. Wouldn't mind fitting another round in the mag. 👍
I picked up the 20’ Rossi R92 in 2/23. Shot a couple thousand of .357/38 rounds through it without any issues, I would mix those caliber’s sometimes with no issues. I put a lighter ejector spring and replaced plastic follower with stainless. It’s an amazing reliable lever gun.
In my humble opinion rossi's are great and if you can match them up with good revolver, your golden. The lighter ejector spring is a good idea. Good for reloading and the brass doesn't fly 10 feet in the air and get lost.
I've seen people say they replaced the plastic follower with metal. What is the purpose of this? Does it actually change functionality or is it just because metal is nicer and last longer
I bought a Rossi R92 Stainless side loading .45 Long Colt. I have a hard time loading this side loader, even though I put the one round in to hold the port partially open !! Now, I will say that I have Arthritis in my hands which means they aren’t as strong as they once were. Are there any other tips that might make it easier for me to load ??
Another option would be to load a full magazine without chambering a round. While loading your last round leave it half way holding the loading gate to help loosen up the springs a bit. You can let it sit this way somewhere safe until your next range or shooting session. Hopefully it helps.
Oh man that is nice. The 20 inch version is what I want, the gun shops around me only have the 16 inch. If I order a 20 inch they will charge me full MSRP
@@BrockNessMonster1991 liked the my 20" inch rossi that I got the 16" and I have to say both are very good. I don't see a need to have the 24 inch version.
I believe the other caliber originally chambered in the 1892 was .218 Bee - late in production as you mentioned. I love the Rossi's - I have three of them in 45 Colt 20" carbine, 44 Mag 16" and .357 Mag 24" rifle. I remove and replace the add-on flip safety on mine. Half cock is plenty good.
Exactly it, I just couldn't remember it. Thank you sir. Rossi is doing something right. You got the triple threat. What do you put in place of the saftey? I'm looking into removing them off my rossi's.
I am not saying one in the chamber is not safe. I am saying that loading the rifle with the hammer cocked is not a smart or safe practice, and there is no reason to do so

@@WV591 how does it balance? What's the capacity with 38spl? I know rossi only states the capacity for 357.
Have the same rifle, love it. I changed the ejector spring to a weaker one, works fine and drops empties at my feet now. Good video

Love the history of the old guns

How ironic, around me the only ones available are the 20 and 24 inch. I've been looking for the 16 inch in stainless. Lol.

These are great looking rifles 👊🇺🇸
Beautiful and great shooters.
Was it the 38.55?
Your asking bullet diameter?
Loading the rifle with one in the chamber , and the hammer at full cock is unsafe. It should be in the half cock position
I agree it is unsafe if your gonna carry it around for defense but being at the range pointed in a safe direction, it's ok.
A bad habit
