  • PHARMACIST Fi shares 3 places we should avoid keeping our medicines - and at least one of these places may be surprising for most people!
    PHARMACIST Fi then gives a few quick reasons why, & advises finding out the best place to store each of your medicines by either reading the CMI for that medicine (please see below for more info), or asking your doctor or pharmacist to please advise you where to store each of your medicines -
    and you might be quite surprised that the best places to store some medicines may be quite different to some other medicines!
    Please also remember to make sure children cannot access your medicines (including prescription medicines, non-prescription medicines, vitamins, minerals, supplements, & herbal medicines), because children have died from taking other people's medicines.
    For example: depending on the place/s where your medicines need to be stored, use a child-proof lock (e.g. cupboard lock &/or refrigerator lock - if that place is appropriate to your medicines' individual storage requirements).
    Please also note that most medicines should NOT be frozen - so
    NEVER keep medicines in a freezer unless a doctor has specifically advised you to do that.
    Here is the link to PHARMACIST Fi's video about why you need a CMI for each medicine you take, because a CMI is great for reading how to store a particular medicine (CMI stands for Consumer Medicine Information - which either comes with a medication, or is available from your pharmacist - e.g. the pharmacist can print or email a CMI to you, for each medicine you take;
    in the USA, a CMI is called a 'Medication Guide', or in the UK it is called a 'Patient Information Leaflet'):
