    Components of Positioning
    1. Competitive alternatives: If you didn’t exist, what would a customer do?
    2. What do you have that the alternatives don’t?
    3. What is the value of those features? Why does it matter?
    4. Who cares a lot about that? (finding niche)
    5. Build messaging around that.
    6. Don’t talk about the features, talk about why features matter.

    For a company, segmentation and target is the first thing, and then you can figure out positioning , then do the branding , and the marketing strategy and tactics used to support your positioning and branding.
