Independence Day Weekend 2017 brought Reading, Blue Mountain & Northern 4-6-2 "Pacific" #425 back to the former rails of Lehigh Valley Railroad and Central Railroad of New Jersey for four days of excursions pulling the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway's excursions between Jim Thorpe, formerly known as "Mauch Chunk", and Old Penn Haven deep in the Lehigh Gorge. Take a ride behind and in the cab of the Reading & Northern's pride of the fleet in this video brought to you by Blue Comet Productions!
This video was filmed on July 1st and 4th, 2017.

Nice work here, Chad. If that doesn't make railfans out of the non-fans who stop by here, nothing will --

I have some questions here....... First, what is the heritage of the railway they are running on? I would think that it was Conrail at some point in time, But I am referring to pre- Conrail. Second, how many roads ran in and out of Jim Thorpe?

What whistle is that on #425? My guess is that it’s a PRR 3 chime.

@@MPT_Productions It sounds similar to a LV 3 chime as well.

What is that over the tracks at 9:46?

TrainsWow™ that would be a bridge that crosses the Lehigh River to the other side. In essence it's abandoned
