- I used FE Builder and impreccable logic to edit Fire Emblem The Sacred Stones to try and beat the demon king in the opening prologue chapter of the game with a level 1 Eirika. Yes it's dumb, but so am I.

Franzs theoretical biggest contribution would have been to act as a sacrificial pawn in enemy phase for Formotiis to kill so that Valter lived and coult strike more often.
Franz wasn't needed in the end but yes this would 100% be the most useful thing he could do

I think this can be done in two edits (sticking within the spirit of the challenge)
1. Add Valter
2. Give him Killer Lance
You’d Pierce crit once, rescue with Seth (so DK kills him instead of Valter,) then it again
Also, this video is funny because the challenge is like kind of fake but also i 100% see how you ended up spending like probably a whole afternoon doing this

I thought my idea was pretty good, but yours is better.
1. Spawn demon king.
2. Load Franz.
3. Load Valter.
4. Give Valter Vdofnir.
5. Load Lyon.
6. Give Lyon Heal to heal Valter.
This strat requires 3 pierces with Valter.

What a fun video! Taking a ridiculous premise and going "okay, but what if" is great. I think the attempt to justify edits in a story-sense really added to the charm here.

Valter just showing up on our side is hilarious. And weirdly, it actually makes the most amount of canonical sense of all of these edits. He's not in leagues with the inner circle of demonic powers, he's just a cursed maniac who wants to prolong the war to have more slaughter and bloodshed happen and in that specific situration, going against the dude about to end the war by just erasing humanity outright is the better option for that objective.
4:48 I am still fairly sure that's meant to be a symbolic thing because Knoll is the most likely wielder and he already failed to contain the demon king(also related to why the first Lyon encounter has the Fenrir tome). But that's besides the point of the video.

This was fun. I have the idea "How early into the game could you defeat the final boss." In FE8 clearly you can't win with the resources in Prologue. But you probably could earlier than the final chapter. How much earlier could be fun to find out.

It wasn't needed in the end, but Lyon has an A rank in staves, which could let him undo all the damage Fado and/or Valter took with the single use of a Heal staff. He'll probably get doubled and die in the enemy phase, but thats why Franz exists.

I do think the end strategy was fun and creatively done either way, but my actually bad at fe brain would've definitely needed more edits and buffs to do this 😅

Playing off of this idea, what if you played the game normally, but on like turn 5 of every map, the Demon King spawns in? How much of the game would you need to play before you're strong enough to beat the Demon King?
This is such a cool idea! I freaking love this. No idea how hard it'd be or when I'd get around to trying it out, but I'll definitely test this at some point 💛
At a guess, if you get Lucky enough, Chapter 8 for the Elysian Whip for Vanessa to get Pierce (where you'd already have access to a Killer Lance for her) into a Pierce Crit feels like the technical earliest. If we're talking on average, you may need Vanessa to get a few post-promotion levelups, add a second Ch10 Eph-Route Elysian Whip for Cormag/Tana because Pierce is absolutely insane, or at absolute worst wait until your first S rank weapons kick in (Ch15).
This is fantastic! The only other one I could think of is how far could you take Lyn's team from the FE7 prologue into Eliwood or Hector's campaign.
I mean this wouldn't work on the other GBA bosses, not without at least 3 times the edits.

Also since binding blade never came to the west I was thinking more on the Fire dragon.

Great video, but I'm thinking of a strategy that actually would use less changes. I didn't do the math in this one, so correct me if I doesn't add up.
The idea is to, instead of letting Valter or Fado die in enemy phase, you put Seth in range of the demon king and hope he Seth instead of Valter. Then, on the next turn, you attack with Fado and Valter again to pick up the K.O
This way, you don't need to give Eirika the Siegmund or Seth the Auhulma + the S rank swords, saving three changes from the original strategy
Yeah that could potentially work, it'd just have less reliability. You could technically beat it with like 3 changes if you could sink a few weeks into actually getting the 0.001% chance of success 😅

truly loved it that you stayed within the realms of possible options, instead of just maxing all chars with lengendary weapons and maybe some extra artifacts to slaughter that monster.

Sacred Stones was my first FE game and Garm really set the bar high when I had my cracked out Ross using it along with the twins to one turn the demon king. I was quite surprised when I played FE7 and literally no one with legendary weapons was doing more than like, 8 damage to the dragon except Hector.
Yeah there's definitely a difference in strength, I'm curious to see how hard the dragon would be

Dude, I had no idea that Demon King thing was real. I just started a Romhack of FE8 that adds in 57 nee features or "minihacks" from addilng Dread Lord, to giving Pre Promotes new paths. Like Garcias kid the axe user kid can hit level 10, promote and do it like three times making him Godlike lol.
It also adds in The Tactiican, which is like YOU as a player and his basic attack is the demon lord animation, its only playable on Hardest setting😊
I know the hack your talking about. its called the "microhack" right? I love it for the crazy amount of units. just wish it was more widespread as it can be hard to find and download with such a generic name.

That's really cool that you're just getting into the series, hopefully you'll fall inove with the games fe7 and fe8 the sacred stones are the best 2 to start with, then fe6 is playable through the same emulator as well. After that the other games in the series are on more clunky emulators or you have to buy the physical games on DS or switch etc
by rescuing Valter with Seth (dealing damage on enemy phase) and getting a C support between Seth and Eirika you can kill the Demon King without Fado:
49+49+16+7=121
There's lots of different options, I just went with what I thought would be semi-reliable with better probabilities than most other options

You can't question this stuff, there's always a reason
Technically, with extreme RNG abuse, you could have leveled up Seth and Eirika to level 20 in the prologue and gotten +1 to all of their stats every level up (so pretty much reaching the stat caps for their class) without any edits necessary (you can move all of your weapons to 1 character to prevent counterattacks and let the brigands attack you and miss and gain 1 exp per combat potentially infinitely many times).
Seth can do 2 damage per attack with the silver lance with capped strength. With more RNG abuse to ensure that Fomortiis misses every single attack and Seth crits every single attack, this allows Seth to do 6*20 damage to the demon lord doing exactly enough damage to KO him when his silver lance breaks. So technically, you could beat the demon king in the prologue without actually buffing any of your characters at all.. it would just require a lot of RNG abuse and be really, really tedious to do.
EDIT: Double checking my math, it seems I used the incorrect Mt value for silver lance, which would bring it to 4 damage instead of 2. Additionally, you could get supports with eirika and seth to get him another +3 damage, which would make the "critting every attack" part of it unnecessary.

Could you put a playable Fomortiis in Ch. 20 Darkling Woods and see if he could survive his own horde of monsters? I think it'd be interesting to see how he would handle it.

Giving Fado 2 elixers would also do, the only scary part would be the shaky hitrate and that 10% crit for 4 turns.

Assuming you can get counter attacks on the demon king, both valter and fado can get 2 attacks by: getting hit, surviving, countering and then attacking again, then dying to the counter.
So if you're lucky, you only need 4 edits; fado, valter, and the weapons.
Valter counters DK and pierces for 49, then attacks piercing again for 98, then fado can finished DK off (i assume pierce can trigger on a counter)
Demon king's main attack 1-2 range so unfortunately you don't get to attack on counter. But there's definitely strategies with fewer edits, they just have wayyy lower chances of working lol

Can Seth not rescue Valter or Fado then stand in place and be the sacrifice, thus giving both Valter and Fado another chance to attack after enemy phase? Or will DK target the weakened character over Seth every time?
I didn't test it out, but you'd be trading Seth's attack for another attack so you haven't gained much by doing it I don't think

I think you can beat by using Erika, Seth and Frado by fishing Great Shield

You could, but you'd lose Seth's attack so you haven't gained anything. Unless you go for a second Luna proc on Valter but you're getting into lower combined probabilities. There's loads of ways to do this, I just went with what I thought would be semi-reliable and I could actually do 😅

does the game crash after you defeat it? or does it continue like you didn't do it?
I don't think I had it set up correctly for the game to know the map had been cleared so it just stated on the map. But you can manually clear the chapter with the debugger and then it just goes into chapter 1 like nothing happened
Can't you just lower the ranks of the legendary to increase bonus damage?
Couldn't you give valter a killer lance and get a pierce crit to cut out at the very least giving him S rank lances? and depending how much you want to pray to RNG I think that could theoretically be the only change but you probably want fado with garm too so you don't have to do it twice. That way the only edits would be valter, killer lance, fado, s rank, garm. If you either rigged the RNG or wanted to try forever you could take it to just killer lance and valter but that would take getting two pierce crits. It would take some effort to get the pierce crit, but it would take out the need for seth or erika to hit, so it might be a net reliabilty upgrade though I haven't run the numbers.
You could that yeah, there's lots of options for doing it with fewer edits but the probability of success is super low, I just went with what I felt was semi-doable whilst still being low-ish on the number of edits
@@BadAtFireEmblem Ah yeah I see that now that I actually ran the numbers I thought not needing to swing with Seth/Eirika would make them at least comparable, but my way was about 1/4 the chance of yours since you're relying on the relatively small crit chance since the demon lord has somewhat high luck. The only benefit I can think of my way really is the luck is mostly condensed in the valter attack so that means less chances to get unlucky, but for this type of situation that doesn't really matter since overall the initial pierce crit is really unlikely

That was really nice to watch, but hear me out real quick.
You know how Hector gets done in by Zephiel in the early game of Fe6? Well I didn't like that.
First of all, Hector has the home advantage, so he's obviously on a throne. An Fe6 throne. Besides that, he's spent years after Fe7, meaning he promoted, and likely capped his level. Exact stats don't really matter here, so we can take average or capped. I'll leave the weapon choice for Hector up to you, too.
Now under these conditions, the question becomes: Does Zephiel really have it in him to defeat good old Hector?
We already have a gameplay-depiction of FE6 Hector in the trial maps.
(Also, going by the story, he wasn't on the throne, he was on the field getting absolutely oofed by Brunnya and Narcian while his army couldn't help him because it was busy getting turned to ash by some wardragons.)
Technically you could just use Seth with Audhulma and hope he dodges the 93%(True hit: 99.09%lol) every single time until the demon king dies.

O'Neill and his troups honorably sacrificing themselves by distracting Fomortiis is pretty legendary.
Reminds me of a PoC remake of the prologue I once made in private where I rewrote the guy to be very reasonable. In which he wanted to spare the player party(not knowing who the two are) by getting them to cooperate and the fight only happens because they (understandably, given the situration) refuse and attack to clear the path.

A Pierce followed by Luna crit is 115 damage, so with the best RNG, you need
First get Valter over here
Second get Lyon over here
Third give Lyon Luna
Fourth give Valter Vidofnir
Fifth give Lyon an Energy Ring to boost his Magic by 2 and therefore crit damage by 6
Sixth spawn the Demon King for them to actually fight
Step 1: Valter goes in and hits the 78.55% chance to hit, then hits the 13% chance to proc Pierce, and does 49 damage.
Step 2: Run Seth in to body block the Demon King alongside Valter.
Step 3: Have Lyon use his Energy Ring to get to 24 Magic.
Step 4: End turn. Demon King will kill either Seth or Valter. Let's assume Valter because that's worst case scenario.
Step 5: Lyon goes in with his Luna and hits the 12.75% chance to hit and the 1% crit at the same time, dealing 72 damage. The Demon King dies.
This has a 1 in 7,680.7 chance of working, so it'll take a few resets! Depending on where you spawn the Demon King, you might be able to do the Lyon attack first and body block him with your two units, then have Valter attack on second turn so you can get the harder RNG roll out the way early, but that results in two character deaths instead of one. Then again, I doubt you're worrying about beating the future chapters when concocting this scenario!
I didn't think about Rescues or anything else because I don't know the unit's CON stats off the top of my head, but it might be possible to get it easier by forcing certain deaths doing that as well.
Yish, that'd be a long afternoon 😅 I was trying to find the most reliable strategy with the fewest edits but if you just want the fewest edits then this is very good
*Theoretically* Valter could solo the demon king, but it would require way too much RNG manipulation.
Valter deals 49 damage with pierce
The demon king kills Valter in two hits and doesn't have a 100% hit rate
If you were unbelievably lucky Valter would need to avoid at least two 93% hits (due to 2 rn these are 99.09 each and also the lowest I saw him have against Valter) while landing three 13% pierce hits at 69% hit rate (81.09 real hit, also the highest hit chance Valter had). You'd probably have to box Formortiis in with others so he didn't go after Valter from 2 range, but oh well.
I'm not gonna run the math on all that, but if I had to guess, it's not very high

I think the smallest edit that you could do to make this very much less unbareable than dodge exp ing Seth to 24 strength, is giving Seth the Slayer skill (Paladins are holy). With that, his Silver Lance triples in might against monsters, going from 14 to 42. With his 14 strength, that's 56 damage, Eirika A Support is 3 more damage, 59. 59-35 is 24. So that's only...(24, 48, 72, 96, 120) 5 hits. With the ~56 hit Seth has with the Silver Lance (about 62% true hit), and the fact that you'd optimally only take 16 Demon King attacks which, for the first four, would optimally be 66 (77 true hit), the rest being 86 (96 true hit)
So the calc would be 0.23^4 x .04^8 x 0.62^5.
Or 1.969^-15

A little more bareable than dodge exp grinding Seth 10 levels with all strength (0.23^1000 x .5^10, a number so small, that the google calculator gives me a 0) to deal enough damage to kill the Demon with all 20 uses of the Silver Lance.
This is literally chrono trigger meets fire emblem. Where after beating the game you get the option to go straight to the final boss in new game+ 😂
