    Bought an adventure king's 110 litre fridge use with my van and Pajero, has nice size freezer can get chickens steaks the lot in it, and decent size fridge no problem 2 litre bottles fits into door and good depth in fridge too, salesman told me power draw is 30 watts which is bugger all, I have got an absorption LPG gas fridge that can run for 5 weeks on one 9 kilo bottle, but you need to dig hole in the ground and put him under ground level then works well on the hottest February days

    • @OutNAboutAustralia
      @OutNAboutAustralia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wish I could’ve gone with the 110L but from memory it would’ve stood a couple of cm too high for my canopy.

    • @OutNAboutAustralia
      @OutNAboutAustralia  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Alex, I had an airflow problem that caused mine to constantly run.
      I found that made ice build up at least once a week.

    Hey mate, loved the video review. I just bought this fridge myself and am looking at making a similar casing like you have.
    How do you find the fridge so tightly packed in your casing? The user manual says to keep a 50mm gap for all sides. Is this true? Or do you think the only thing to keep unblocked/ventilated is the two vents of the motor? Just dont want to put wood around the whole thing then have it over heat or something 😂 cheers!

    • @OutNAboutAustralia
      @OutNAboutAustralia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Regan,
      Honestly mate if I had my time over I’d make mine a little wider and give it more air all the way round.
      We’ve had a few days near 40° and while it’s parked in the sun I’ve noticed it struggle to stay down at 2°
      That said it’s probably around 50° inside my canopy in the sun.

    Not really been a fan of Kings gear based on having owned a few things here n there as have mates. Always built on price not to any real standard. I do see the original version of this fridge is a carbon copy by looks to the bushmans. They have since changed a few things. Now i do wonder if the insulation filling is cheaper and less effective. if the lines are maybe steel like the brass monkey fridges vs copper. i do wonder under the skin is there less evaporator or is it made with cheaper metal that will rust out. maybe different wiring or compressor controller. usually the cheaper brand variations of a import product that a higher standard company brings in will have corners cut. I am keen on a bushmans and it may be that the Kings is the same at its core but knowing past experience with Kings and cheaper gear etc there is always something that has been cheap'd out on or a flaw or catch etc.

      I've had all the same issues you're describing with Kings. As good as they market the products, I don't think they'll be able to shake the early failures and average customer service they had.
