      @@Off.Track4x4 Hey all good. That sounds like music to my ears XD. Went down to my local BCF to gander at them first hand... they are a good looking bit of kit but I noticed on both the 80l and 115l that the door can still be pushed ajar, wondering if this is the same with yours too? wonder if there might even be some adjustment in those clips. Its a great bit of kit but still could be better.

      Hello, thanks for watching and commenting. Honesy if your tossing up between the NRX and CRX it is an easy choice this the NRX is by far the better fridge. Not perfect but leaps and bounds better. I'd love it to have a temperature controlled thermostat.

      The NRX fridge is a disaster compared to the CRX. The CRX was repairable by fitting a digital temperature controller. The NRX is expensive faulty failure and to date Dometic are no help. The fridge either freezes the cabinet or the freezer is under safe food storage temperatures. The cheaper fridges with some modification work better and can keep proper food storage temperatures.

    I had a CRX 50 a couple of years back where water would leak from the freezer area and would eventually leak out out somehow out of the fridge, curious as it seems like the sealing is better on the NRX if you had any thoughts on this and if it's something you have noticed if anything with this model? I feel like it's possible that being that because the freezer is removable possibly that's the reason that was happening for me on the CRX 50. Trying to decide between the Bushman 130L, Vitrifrigo C115L and the NRX 130L for my camper van. Cheers.

      Hello Sammy, I never had that happen on my CRX 50 that should like your freezer wasn't sealing properly and was defrosting on you. Definitely not normally. If I removed the freezer I would get ice form on the roof and drop in my CRX50.
      This one no issues with that at all, they really have Improved it astronomically.

      The Bushman is just another cheap Chinese fridge sold at an extortionate ripoff price. Fact is it is only 110L and identical to the Kings fridge at less than half the price. The Kings fridge has a superior internal layout and is easily fixed to work correctly with the addition of an extra digital temperature controller. The Dometic NRX currently is not fixable.

    Think u may want to check your cool down amp maths. By my reckoning it's 3.1a/hr per hour of draw. Also the compressor and fan are controlled by the black control module that the power leads connect to. This controls the speed of the 2 above mentioned items. Be good to see same sort of test over 24hrs via the lithium from full after being cooled down first to really show average amp draw. I have a kings 110 and it will use from 6amp (usually at first start and cool down) to 1.9a draw measure via a clamp meter over several hours. This new one does look the goods though.

      I'm referring to the cool down shed test at 10:15. The resultant 3.1ah used p/hr over 2 hours you referred to as (3.5ah over that 2 hours @ 10:43 mark.) 134.01-127.69=6.32 or 3.16amp hours per hour. Hey mate thanks for watching and commenting. Just got home and looked at what you could do. So the fridge door is 625mm from the ground, but there is legs on all 4 corners that can be removed and the fridge would then sit flush on the floor. That would then take the Hight down to 605mm. You would want to use the 5mm to chock the fridge up though so the door can swing freely and not slide across the ground.
      If you want any photos or more info please message me on Instagram, TH-cam doesn't let me know if you reply to this.

    Hey mate, I've just got myself one and after playing with it there are some things that I feel should have been mentioned.
    1. The door latches will need adjusting. Mine let the door open 8mm and wouldn't hold the door closed enough for the whole fridge seal to well... seal.
    2. Only the bottom latch is adjustable. So once adjusted all the load is only on that bottom latch, how this fairs for longevity, time will tell.
    3. That travel lock is useless. It, in no way stops the door from being opened if the handle is lifted. You can even lift it while it's "blocking" it. A physical interference latch would have been better.
    Finally as far as doors fittings/setups go, it gets beat out by a cheaper brand but wins back for its insulation vs said cheaper fridges. I hope it doesn't let me down in any other aspect or I will be ropeable.

      Hello Liam, if your fridge is not staying closed by the seal it's self, take it back under consumer law and swap it. No adjustments should need to be made. Mine you can not keep it open, you would have to wedge something in-between the steal and fridge to do so. It have a tiny amount of play but the steal is to strong on this new model. If yours isn't like that take it back as their is a problem with the seal.

      @@Off.Track4x4 Its better now its sat out of the box for a few days but I think you're right. The seal is weak enough that I can open it with 2 fingers 30mm from the hinge (I measured it XD)
      Plus no amount of squeezing of the seal will fix the 2 corner mitres that are not flush.

      Ive been running mine for two weeks straight so I can better answer these questions. I have no ice build up. But would all depend on where you live and how often you open it. Ice build up is due to the humid wet air getting into the fridge and icing up.

    • @ERHD-n3e

      No doesn't need defrosting because the fridge constantly defrost itself as it cannot maintain safe food storage temperatuers in the fridge cabinet or freezer. Consequently the fridge defrost itself many times a day.

    I don't like how the compressor is exposed, it should be under a cage or similar to stop anything being able to damage the compressor parts, this design is forcing you to need a separate cage, I also don't like the black sticky tape around the perimeter for a $1400 fridge that's unacceptable.

    • @liamcooper6721
      @liamcooper6721 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      its marketed more for cabinet fitting then just out in the open but just about all of the brands are exposed like this, even the (not so mighty anymore) Engel's. Tape of fridge/freezer units where gaps need insulating is pretty much industry standard. At least they tried to blend it. These thing are neither here nor there compared to other things I have found.

    • @Off.Track4x4
      @Off.Track4x4  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello, Liam is right king's is the only fridge that covers the compressor. No upright fridge is ment to be exposed so need to make the back look fancy. The tape I agree looks crap but is is proper fridge tape that will last and if it ever comes looser you can have it repaired for free.

    • @liamcooper6721
      @liamcooper6721 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      After a bit of snooping on Dometic's site and the page that comes with the fridge, That black "bezel" that the tape is on is removeable for installation of a "flush mount kit". Again because these are made with RV's and caravans in mind. So while it is the best to look at, it serves a purpose.

      The compressor isn’t meant to be left exposed. This is supposed to be installed in a built in cabinet, not used as a free standing device. Free standing fridges are the ones that look like a cooler with top doors.

    I find Dometic absolute rubbish! The CFX I purchased in 2021 failed within 3 months from new! Dometic only have a 3 year warranty and the warranty is nearly up now and it’s been in to be fixed under warranty 5 times in the 2.5 years I’ve owned. The first one was replaced with a new one also so it’s not even the same initial fridge/freezer. Would not recommend especially at the premium price. No way. Go the kings fridge any day at 1/3 of the price with a 5 year warranty. Totally disagree with your review of the kings 85L and how you are talking up a brand that is rubbish and will be in getting fixed more than you can use it.

      @@Off.Track4x4 Agree, there is consumer guarantee rights that cover these situations, kick up a fuss and tell them you want a refund, quoting from ACCC re the new consumer laws, When a business sells a product with a major problem, or a product that later develops a major problem, it must give the consumer the choice of a refund, or replacement of the same type of product.
      A refund should be the full amount the consumer paid for the product. The business must not deduct an amount from a refund to take into account the use a consumer has had of the product.
