Install a 70mm computer fan with it hooked up to the positive side of the condenser fan circuit!.
Won't get the frost up anymore will use way less power when loaded up.

Great review, all those fridges freeze over, high humidity doesnt help, if door is ajar they will freeze over. Try to use a blower directed at freezer will defrost the ice. Keep up the great trip videos
I have seen people install pc cooling fans facing the back of the freezer, this give more air flow and stops the freezer from frosting
Yeah mate. It stops it from frosting up and circulates the air around the fridge. Plus uses fuck all power. Mine was installed 3 days after I purchased mine. Cost less then $40 to get all the bits
I have been using mine for 9 months. Does not ice over the freezer, I keep it set to 2C/36F. The latch has always worked perfectly. Have used it for about 12 weeks of traveling. Been down the south coast in winter, the east coast NSW/Vic in wet conditions, and crossed the Simpson Desert in dry conditions. How do I get all the reported problems to happen for me, I must be doing something wrong!! 😂 PS keep it strapped down for rough conditions, like I did for the Simpson, glad I did it, as the small stock issue mounts were working loose.
Just take door off and put a washer or two on top of the little rod that the door goes onto and that will lift the door up making the latch engage

My mate has the bushman identical to the kings in summer time his temperature fluctuates my kings one stays the same
I saw people fixing the frozen freeze by attaching a small fan to it.
Freezer freezing over and latch not working. Looks like you got a dodgy one but that’s expected when you buy anything from kings.
Plenty of video of what people are doing to there fridge,a small jay,car fan installed,it get good reviews from people.
The issue with these fridges are when you are in cold climate. The freezer will defrost on you once its cold enough as the compressor wont kick in when fridge is at temp.
Worked great for me in FNQ, but was useless from south qld back down to VIC
Do you mean these kings units or the uprights in general, im looking between the bushman and the dometic but I don’t love what your saying here 😂
@@chasp_0784 I've read that most brands do it, unless they have a separate thermostat for the fridge and freezer.
Can confirm that the freezer defrosts in cold climates where the ambient is colder than the fridge thermostat as there is only a thermostat in the fridge section. Living around Vic high country.
So Maybe only 8 weeks of the year where it can be annoying.
@@12321bennyg you’ve got the kings unit or an upright in general, I know the dometic says it has a heater for when it gets real cold.
We are looking at buying an upright fridge, was we are considering the kings 85ltr. I have heard mixed reports about hot weather and the fridge not getting to proper temperature. Has anyone had this issue?
Gday mate, for the price they are unreal I did put a fan in mine which stopped the freezer frosting over from opening the door all the time but other than that never had a problem and hasn’t been turned off!
They have a reversable door, would it work better opening the other way?
Hey mate, the door actually opens less the opposite way but I know what you mean, it’s all because the canopy door has a bar inside it so the fridge and everything has to be so far back in the canopy

What size solar panel do you use to run this fridge
G’day mate, I have 400W of solar on the roof but you definitely do not need that to only run the fridge. I’d probably just over compensate and get a 180-200w if budget allows invade you want to add anything else in, my fridge pulls bugger all amps .5 - 1.5
My freezer goes from -20 degrees to plus 5 . I can’t trust putting food in the freezer as it derfrost by itself.has that happened to you . This is my second fridge now and does the same thing
Howdy, I haven’t had this problem happen yet, my fridge does have its flaws but they are cheap for what you get. If I build another setup again I want to give dometic a try !
Bought this fridge but it stops running for hours in the cold weather. Everything defrosts. Anyone know why?

Because the outside temp is colder than the fridge and the fridge temp sensor doesn’t kick back in until it starts warming up.

Looking forward to all your reviews mate. I was lucky to get a Kings fridge for $499!!!! They do some great specials. I'm yet to build my canopy though!
