How important is the SPEED stat in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe?

In a game all about speed, you may wonder why on earth you would want to choose the slowest characters. Well, in this video we put this to the test and play as the slowest combos in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. That being the baby characters in the biddy buggy, with the roller wheels.
These characters are light weight with little to no speed. The advantages being their acceleration and mini-turbo ability, but is that a good enough trade off to win races in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe? Only one way to find out.

Baby Mario and Luigi are just better since they have 2 ground speed and 20 mini turbo and the baby peach daisy and Rosalina have 1 ground speed and 20 mini turbo although all of these characters are way worse than the 2 meta combos of yoshi teddy and yoshi scooty being 8 ground speed 18 mini turbo and 6 ground speed and 19 mini turbo
Also im pretty sure lemmy has the same stats as baby rosalina either that or baby daisy and peach
