- For each race I switch into the combo of whoever came last place in the previous race. The video ends when I lose VR. How long can I use last place combos until I lose? Watch and find out!
This Mario Kart 8 Deluxe challenge was a lot of fun, and really goes to show that it's less about the combo, and more about the driver! You can win with any combo, so why choose the best combo in the game, when you can choose the best looking combo in the game!

6:01 The ? in the kart/wheels are not for randomization. Those are meant for vehicles parts that you have yet to unlock.

Since you asked, I think Toad's Turnpike was easily the worst track in the game, with Baby Park being another straight up bad track I hated to play. Both of these were because they make it essentially impossible to avoid obstacles, with Toad's Turnpike having all the vehicles, and Baby Park being so small and crowded it's just a mess where you have to pray you don't get screwed over by the 15 items constantly flying around on the track or 12th place in a star running into you.
When the DLC came out though, I'd say that the two last tracks in the Propeller Cup being Mushroom Gorge and Sky High Sundae definitely topped that.
I basically hated most of the wii tracks from the start, because they chose so many of the jankiest, most annoying tracks to drive, but the jank has grown on me over time, and I don't dislike most the Wii tracks anymore. The exception to that is Mushroom Gorge. In time trials, the bouncy mushrooms are fine, but in a real game where you constantly get bumped and hit by items, it is just insanely infuriating how even if you are clearly the best racer in the room, you just have to pray that you don't get shocked, and then randomly bounced into the cracks between the mushrooms. I have gotten fucked over so many times by random shit happening on the bouncy mushroom section that I just cannot help but despise this track.
When it comes to sky high sundaye, I thought I would love this one, but it turns out that it is straight up the worst disgned track in the game, without having all that random shit that screws you over like the three uther ones.
Fistly, it has underwater physics, so when you hold a direction in the air, your car will actually tilt and start moving that direction. It is obvious why they did this, since the middle of the strack is full of ramps purposely made in a manner where you can not see any of the track behind the next ramp, forcing you to jump blind, and then adjust your position in mid air. This is just terrible, because a player can just leave a banana behind a ramp, and no matter how skilled you are, you will not be able to avoid it, because you cannot see it until it is too late to adjust and turn away from it.
Secondly, it only has two turns on the entire track, and one turn has stairs on it that launch you like a ramp, which when combined with the underwater physics, makes you fall off the track on the _inside_ of the turn if you try to drift tight. This same turn also has a railing, which looks like a solid wall/ obstacle, but for some reason the developers decided to give you a spin boost when crashing into them. This is just incredibly misleading design, and I have never see anyone who wasn't confused when they crashed into the railing and got a boost.
The other turn for some reason is put on an incline, but your kart is not set to anti gravity mode, so this causes the physics in the turn to just be weird, making it difficult to drive though the turn normally.
Thirdly, as mentioned the ramps are incredibly annoying, but what's worse is that they are just boring to drive on, and I think that is because of the underwater physics making your falling slower. They basically just act as a straight line path with a few jumps that aren't fun to jump across. I actually loved Excitebike Arena, because despite being similar in concept, it didn't have underwater physics, making the jumps feel large and bouncy, and the turns had shortcuts you can take.
In Sky High Sundae, there are literally no shurtcuts, which means if you get hit, the race is over for you. You cannot catch up with whoever is ahead without getting really lucky with items. There is no tension created by the risk/ reward of trying to take a shortcut, and so the entire track is just boring to drive.
I agree that Sky High Sundae is definitely one of the worst tracks in the game - as you said, it’s a boring layout and the under water physics just makes it feel so much slower.
I actually like mushroom gorge though, despite the constant falling off at the mushrooms! The saving grace is that you can actually make insane comebacks as the bullet saves so much time over the mushrooms and obviously the gap jump that is high risk, high reward!

My least favourite map is Sunset Wilds. The fact that they called it SUNSET Wilds, and it doesn't have a Sunset as laps progress, is despicable. Why even add it if it doesn't have the Sunset?

urrrm actually the mario standard kart combo used the blue standard tires and you just used the regular standard tires, so yeah, challenge failed 🤓
