    I have an S60 T6 R Design with the Polestar tune. Best car I’ve ever owned- most of what you have in the T8 but with about 60 less HP, less weight, and less complication. Polestar tune gives you a little more power, higher redline, and quicker shifts 👍

    I have an S90 and enjoy it on long road trips. Great interiors, ergonomics, and tech. I test drove some other cars recently and their interiors felt so cheap. The S60 is a nice size.

      Excellent. Sadly, Volvo may not make the s90 at the next product update. They may not even make the s60. There are few s90s on the road, which, yes makes them look cool and distinctive but unfortunately gives Volvo a reason to discontinue them. I truly hope the in the future Volvo sells wagons, sedans and the crossover types of vehicles (SUV/CUV). But, their plans have a lot more SUVs and there's talk of discontinuing some sedans. And there are only 2 now.

    This Volvo looks good especially in white! I bought a used 2010 white xc60 awd SUV because I listened to one of your older podcasts recommendations that you like it and my wife and I love driving it. I like the Volvo styling and grill so much better than Lexus. I also like the crystal shift knob. It shows more refinement and luxury.
    Coincidently I live in Oregon and I almost hit a deer a few nights ago that jumped in front of me and my Volvo beeped at me to warn me and i was able to miss the deer. Cheers!

    The 2001 version of this car; my S60 T5 Turbo; did the Portland to Los Angeles run (1000 mi) overnight. Wish to god I had timed it. Volvo sedans chew up freeway miles like nobodies business and maintain a great composure while doing it. I wonder if you guys had a chance to drive it "around town"? Because my 01' S60 wasn't the greatest in that environment but boy it loved the open road.

    I love the way the new S60 looks, I had an S60 T5 in 2013 and it was a great cross country car with the best seats I've ever owned in any car. I'm still leaning Model 3 but I still love my Arteon. It's amazing that even though SUVs outsell cars there are still ao many great sedans to choose from.

    Amazing review. I am in the market for a luxury hybrid and I am choosing between the Volvo S60 T8 against the BMW 330e m sport which I have driven back to back and both are amazing cars. But for overall value, comfort and performance, which one do you think is the best choice?

  • @benjaminsmith2287
    @benjaminsmith2287 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Volvos haven't been boxy for decades now. You showed a p2 V70 but the only thing boxy about it was that it had an upright back (which is the best for doing its job and carrying things). But the s60 version of that car was rounded. That was 2 generations back from the current cars. And Volvos have made quick sedans/wagons for some time now, even some of the boxier ones were, like the 850R sedan and wagon. Volvos are fine long distance cars due to the stable over the road feel, fine seats and reasonable quietness.

    Have you test driven the BMW M340i, and if so, how does the performance/driving experience compare against this S60? The M340i, with its 382 horsepower turbocharged inline 6 engine, seems to be a car that offers a very engaging driving experience, and I've kind of wondered if the S60 T8 is as quick off the line as the M340i. Would be cool to see you guys do a review of that car.

    Central tunnel batteries! Yes volvo!
    All the EV's so far have gone with plates of batteries in the floor because it 'lowers the center of gravity, like a sports car, while raising the seated position of the driver, which is what everyone wants'
    Yeah, but (1) I'm not everyone, and so I don't want to be sitting up high, and (2) an underfloor battery might be good for lowering the center of gravity, but it significantly raises the polar moment of inertia. Low polar moment of inertia goes a lot farther in making a car nimble, a low center of gravity just reduces body roll (and increases how grippy the tires can get without risking roll over)
