      Depends really. Some agents good obviously for long term .. but some good deals on air b n b. If had time to door knock I hear some great deals can be had .

    AirBnB is great, but they have a lot of add-on fees.

    Contact 3 real estate agents in Bangkok. All have not gotten back with me after I told them I wanted 6 months to 9 month rental. One of them said they don't do 6 months but one yr. The other 2 didn't respond back. They even did a bait and switch on me. Smh. How can I get in touch with the owner directly or landlord. Agents I guess trying to make commission.

    • @Livingabroadalex

      Damn that sucks. Use places like Airbnb or Facebook market place where it is mainly the owners listing their units. Most of them have their "Line" I'd listed there

    Hey man SUPER helpful video. How do you find the AirBNB locations to meet the owners face to face? I thought AirBNB blocks the address or phone numbers? Just wondering the best way to connect with the hosts without flagging the AirBNB system...

    • @Livingabroadalex
      @Livingabroadalex  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you I usually send then a direct message saying something like " I'm Alex a responsible individual that will treat your home as my own. I am on a budget and was wondering if you'd consider x amount of money per month. It's lower than your asking price but you'll have peace of mind knowing your places is rented every night of the month

    Helpful video thank you. I like the idea of making a side deal with an Airbnb host but I'd be concerned about getting scammed. As a foreigner and tourist I won't have any legal resources in that case. Would you request a lease for the agreed upon period? Also, it's unlikely that the host will file a TM30 with immigration if it's near your time for a 90 day reporting.

    • @Livingabroadalex
      @Livingabroadalex  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you!I stayed there 4 months without issues. You can request it. N they want scam u if you don't pay anything unless seeing the place.

    I have been in Bkk before, but I can’t tell much about living long term in an area.
    So my plan is to spend the first 4 weeks in 4 different places using Airbnb or other short term options for scouting purposes. Probably I will try Phra Khanong (the most central I’ll get), Udom Suk (more peripheral), Ari / Lad Phrao (northern side) and Thonburi (on the left side of the river and very local).
    I think that by that I can feel more confident to commit for a long term rent. I’ll let you know 😁

      There is a "contact host" button on airbnb.

      Not numerical form 5000 and he se the message and if he agrees then meet up with him and check out the place

    Line is also used in Taiwan. I didn't know that. So I was at an establishment & the guy looked at me, "You don't have Line?? You don't even have a download of it??". I said, "I have Whatsapp.". And his face showed that he didn't know what that was.// I am now in a Bangkok hotel and residence (paying 19500 baht/month) & I am looking at your video to see if I can move over to a condo for 1 month (at less cost per month than what I pay now).
