The words of The High One are bits of wisdom for all to live by.
Odin doesn't say to live this way or that or I will smite you.
He says, trust me I have been there and done that.
You can heed my wisdom and live well or not listen and live poorly.
It's your choice, the path you take will be your own.
The words of the Aesir need to be heard by our folk.
    They have been buried, forgotten.
This generation is hungry for meaning and have been lead down the wrong path.
Us men and fathers need to take our sons and younger men and hand down our skills and wisdom to them.
This was the way of our ancestors.
    Pass on your wisdom.

@@kev1734 This. It's fearmongering, which is what all these "global threats" are. Shouldn't acid rain have wiped us out by now? Shouldn't ice have crushed us by now? There's been a million of these hoaxes, and people fall for every new one again and again. They're scapegoats, meant to distract from the true cause.
Keep people focused on and taxed over a nonexistent threat, and you'll leave them right open for a real one.

Thank you Björn for your insights. I am from Finland..my wife is Austriam, but her father is Norwegian. You said that understanding gives comfort..this is like the saying that man fears more that which he cannot see than what he does see..When you understand the threat, then you can somewhat predict how to deal with it in a way that will be advantageous to your survival..The mentality of the northern people (at least the ones from the past rather than the global warmed version) is this: The depth of winter is cold and heartless, without empathy or emotion, and if you are not prepared for her...she will come in the darkness and tickle your toes and fingers..then draw you into a sleep from which you will never see the coming spring again..

I feel like I have lived out these words.. I’m only 20 but have traveled to Norway and Sweden multiple times enjoying the nature and finding my roots...each time staying with friends and making new ones. I returned the favor of hospitality and have my friends come stay with me in the states... I still have a lot to learn but I have gained so so so much wisdom from those experiences .. it doesn’t always come the way you want it.. sometimes it’s through heartbreak or a hard lesson. I learned a lot about love and who to trust from the people I’ve misjudged...I wish I could have heeded those words of caution a bit more but wisdom comes from all experiences good and bad..this book guides you to wisdom...and I’d like to think my ancestors are proud of the life I’ve lived so far and for keeping my culture and name close to me all these years later..don’t live in a box.. be a well traveled and trustworthy man, force yourself to make new friends all over the world..you never know what you will learn and the memories you will take from it

What quickness your videos gain attention and comments! I traveled the world lived in several other countries and studied the book of wisdom (proverbs) for it give GREAT insight to the outcomes of peoples, societies, and situations. All wisdom is worth looking into. It is for mental health, direction, and peace of mind to understand a thing. I havent heard this poem and the stanzas in yrs.👍 Never liked the modern philosophers. They seem to only apply themselves to mental masterbaitions to promote mental illness rather than wisdom that propels us forward in life. In truth and not catering to psychosis. Plato the last worthy philosopher worth reading in my opinion. Stoicism is important for a healthy minded society. But this is a channel about NORDIC LIFE. SO...... THANKS!

I'm glad somebody is summarising what my father and his father have told me. I'm not even sure if I have to be disappointed by my students. There is nobody who is showing them to be a "father figure" except than me and I'm 24 years old but there's nobody else who is showing them how to be a man than us. I'm fed up with our school- and our societys system right now.
At least there is not only you but still some hope.

Airplanes are a blessing and a curse. I have lived by an international air port for most of my childhood. As an adult, I moved away from the city and now when I go back to my parents, I am always bothered by how loud they are.

I would love if our ancestors left more recordings of their rituals and beliefs, I feel like I’m missing a huge part of myself because I(we) lack the information. I have zero connection to the desert religions and desire none.

Garety Wooddick unfortunately only our DNA survives, that’s why recording history is so important. I have a copy of the Havamal and I’ve seen some “Prayers” online but it’s not enough. I desire to know what they knew, how they worshipped and why.

He is correct. You are your ancestors, everything they were and knew is within you, yet we forgot, or better made to forget how to access these sources. Given time and patience, we can access all this again. It started within me and I can tell you, its wonderful.
