A Fraudulent Venezuelan Election

On July 28 Venezuelans went to the polls to vote for President, and Nicolas Maduro was quickly declared the winner. Hector Fuentes, a Venezuelan democracy activist, explains why there is strong reason to believe this result was fraudulent. The opposition, represented by candidate Edmundo González, backed by the charismatic Maria Corina Machado, mobilized millions of Venezuelans to reject Maduro and the legacy of Chavismo, and has received substantial international support.
