You guys did you know that the debt is actually tracking the total amount of resources left in the world? Notice that by 2050 the national debt is 56 trillion and the U.S. will entirely collapse by then? Well did you know that the entire world is mined out, all resources gone including all oil and gas, but a little coal may still be left. Anyways what you need to understand is that 10 billion people will be living on a barren planet, devoid of any resources and much hotter with very little fresh water if any. Most people will be living underground that are still alive. That's the real math that should be talked about. National debt math is meaningless compared to how bad things are really going to get. Notice they never talk about over population and resource depletion? You got Elon saying there aren't enough people on the planet and population numbers are dropping. That's a good thing!

No it’s the wealthy, and the reason they provide the jobs is to make themselves wealthy…Raise their taxes and it will simply be disbursed among their assets (aka jobs the middle class work) and employees. With respect this view of economics (tax the rich) is short sighted. Make the wealthy business owners more wealthy so more people have better paying jobs. The majority of “wealthy” peoples wealth isn’t sitting in a bank account somewhere, it is tied up in their businesses, properties, and payrolls.

Doing a quick search for whether he voted for Republicans' 2018 tax reform bill ("Tax Cuts and Jobs Act") brings up a "Yes". He is not being honest by blaming Democrats for Republicans' mess. Obama's policies passed to bring the U.S out of the 2008 financial crisis put the U.S on a trend to eventually pay off its debt. Republicans instead wanted Trump to get the credit for the resulting economy. The CBO warned that Republicans' tax reform bill would COST $2 TRILLION over the next 10 years. Republicans chose to lie about the bill paying for itself instead.

I watched the whole thing because I was very interested in how a politician referenced math and spoke with real data about an often misunderstood yet serious problem, rather than subjective back & forth that's common on highly-viewed congress videos.
I wanted to leave a comment here because I'm amazed at how Schweikert talked about TH-cam comments in the end of the video, and it reminded me about the importance of always learning and educating yourself - understanding math, reading deal data and asking proper questions, and for me, doing well in understanding computer science. Especially with how you reminded us about the importance of intelligence in our society, I'm just more eager now to continue studying in the hopes to one day be smart enough to help contribute positively to our society.

david schwiekert in Arizona has been
    convicted of 11 counts
of financial ethic violations against arizona. Underhanded dealings involving monies, he got caught & was given a slap on the
wrist & is still in office so he can do it again.
    As a politician he must
be stopped & not allowed to be in
    Congress, his tactics
    would only hurt Arizona
    in so many ways. We
    DEFINITELY DON'T NEED PEOPLE LIKE

@@katto1937 Well actually... The dollar is the worlds reserve currency and the US economy is unique in that setting low prices for the dollar helps suck in and recycle surplus from the rest of the world. Having low dollar prices and being in debt is how the USA became rich after Bretton Woods, and even before then after dropping the gold standard. Being in debt to yourself is not as big a deal as it sounds like... A fiscal budget is not at all like a household budget. Anyway, even if you are not into economics you can see that the USA has lower inflation, higher growth than anywhere else. the USA is doing better relative to any other country in the west by a long long way.

Of course it’s an empty room. Everyone in congress is making money off this dilemma. They stuff their pockets while the country goes broke…. THIS is the problem around the world. Government misuses the power and when you’re in charge of everything….. it’s easy to sweep everything under a rug and get out free & clear without getting your hands dirty. I’m Canadian…. look at the worth of Prime Minister Trudeau before he was elected vs now….. then take a look at the shady bailouts (Bombardier) and government contracts his government has granted that he has been linked to (SNC Lavalin). Or his charity scandals…. yet he stays in power, makes gobs of money and gets off scott-free. Where’s the personal accountability for these leaders? Why aren’t they forced to perform the mandates that got them elected in the first place? It’s complete and utter bullshit that they can lie, cheat and steal but suffer no consequences.
