Yes..despite being a poor country..But Indians not much liking as compared to Aussies or Americans.. I had been there last December..Visited Pattaya, & Kanchanaburi.. Only a bit expensive food compared to Singapore.

I don't know schedule of the boat but I think it good time after 16.00 pm because too hot temperature in Thailand between 8.30 am -16.00 pm

Try dinner cruise, It's very nice at night time too especially not too hot and delicious food. Check the website there are many companies offer Choa-phraya dinner cruise.
If you start from Pahathit pier is 09.30 a.m for the first round and the last is 17.30 p.m and the boat will leave from the pier every 30 mns,,,

I always go to Saphan Taksin to board a river taxi. But this one looks new and different from the ones I usually take. It isn't crowded and is very spacious. The open air concept is great. What happens when it rains?

This boat is ordinary not cruiser,,, but, this boat is special invent for tourists,,,Normal cost for cruiser is over 1,000 up with dinner and luxury baots and will operation on evenings,,,
@@user-qu7rb8vy1b So because it was hard to communicate with the personel in Sathorn Pier, I ended up taking a smart ferry. I can't see the 360 view. I wanted the roof top seat which I had a hard time communicating with. I should study Thai next time I go there.

Contrast to Vietnam, Thailand is very friendly, honesty people, very clean. Very seldom visitors see trash on the streets or roads but can be seen everywhere in Vietnam. There is no rule on traffic, the law of the jungle is applied in Vietnam.

30 baht for one hopping but you can buy all day ticket at 150 baht with unlimited hopping.

I've taken ferry and boat crossings in Bangkok, which were very interesting - the river is a key part of life for many people there. But I was also struck by the unfairness of some of the hotels and their viewing platforms near the river, aimed squarely at rich tourists - excluding many Thais. Not good, to have places priced way above the local average economy level.
Thailand is capitalist, not communist. What should Thai people do? Please advise.

But it was a particularly jarring thing to see ordinary Thai people effectively priced out of and excluded from a business where money/capitalism was effectively ethnically screening out the indigenous population.
By that stage well aware of the general cost of living, and ordinary costs, I was in one riverside sky bar which was busy - but the *only* Thais there were staff.
It caught my eye very, very quickly that the place was busy - but there were no Thais there.
Instead, there were a *lot* of older white guys walking around with much younger Russian and eastern European prostitutes and mistresses - balding, fat, badly-dressed guys over 60 don't normally tend to attract girls and women 30+ years their junior, but these kinds of couples were all over that place - and the bar's astronomical prices were particularly galling as by that stage, I grasped what the local economic levels were.
As such, a quick mental comparison showed that this bar's prices were approximately four times what Thais would pay in an ordinary bar - thus there were zero Thais there, in this upmarket, wealthy rooftop bar that had a grubby secondary purpose as what the British would call 'a knocking shop', to judge by the striking amount of deeply unattractive but wealthy older white guys breezing about with several decades younger prostitutes and mistresses.
Perhaps their, ah, arrangements were evidence of capitalism and the world's oldest trade going hand in hand. Still, as I finished my lone mediocre drink with its eyewatering price, it was hard not to be struck at the time, as now, by the exclusionary effect such outré pricing had on keeping Thai people away from that bar - the first such example of an expensive upmarket bar being priced beyond the range of the local population that I've seen on my travels around the world.
And, admittedly, perhaps the wealthy Thais of Bangkok just find that place tacky, and don't want to go somewhere full of sleazy old white guy tourists and ex-pats, and young foreign hookers etc on the make and looking for some sugar, so they just don't go there. That's perfectly possible too, which is perhaps another variant of capitalism at work, and a micro market finding its level.

I am thai. As for me, i normally don't go to places where a lot of foreigners gather and those hotels and bars mentioned usually target them so a big no for me. rest assure, there're alternatives for us locals to enjoy the riverside with more reasonable prices. but i do agree with you about severe inequality in bangkok which is a big issues among US thai ourselves. the gap between the poor and rich is huge. class struggle is real here as a result of capitalism.
My friend normally Thais don't go where farangs/tourists go, especially people from Bangkok will leave town for their seaside home like Hua-Hin or Khao Yai national park etc. on weekend. You don't see Thais hang out in area like soi NaNa or Soi Cowboy those places are for "sexpats" and they don't care about roof top bars. Thais who live and work in Bangkok make good money and well educated, They go places that tourist don't go and most of the time they will spend money on good food restaurants in town or out of town. Eating (good food) is part of our culture.
That is why Bangkok is the most visited city in the world in 2019 and future. The luxury hotels are for tourists, there is no reason for us (Thai) to go there especially Thais who already work and live in BKK. As I mentioned they will spend time on weekend at their second home outside BKK. Thailand and Thai people are not that indigent/penniless as you think........I don't think you know and understand us well enough. Of course all the staff who work at the roof top bar or any places in BKK has to be Thai (this is Thailand) but it doesn't mean they are impoverished, actually they make very good money. My country has been through hard life/hard time in the past and stood up on our own feet all along. We are not underprivileged to any country especially no one ever colonized us. We may not as wealthy as other countries but we don't let anyone tell us what to do and the bottom line is we don't have boss, we welcome all walk of life to our country with respect from both side.
FYI, at least 5 millions foreigner labors (registered/legal) are working in Thailand plus at least 2-3 millions more illegal labors. Ordinary Thais only want to work for high pay factory/industry.
Thailand is Southeast Asia's third largest economy (after Indonesia and Singapore), the World Bank calls a "middle-income" country. The three main economic sectors are (1) agriculture (2) manufacturing (3)services/tourism. Don't worry about us we will be fine.
