I bought an SV and don't know how you can say the car is "slow" and the Sport Mode is useless. It's not a Porsche but it has enough gusto for the average joe,, and Sport Mode definitely gives the engine more power and traction especially climbing steeper hills. It's an excellent car for it's class and price.
Why aren’t more people buying this car. They kick and scream about high markups and they ignore the biggest deal out there. 🤷♂️This is what Jetta, Elantra, Forte buyers should be buying.

I rented a Toyota Corolla. I was shocked at how unrefined the 4 cylinder was. Next time I rented a Sentra. Much more comfortable, upscale feel. Quiet and great ride and handling. I did use the Sport Button and, while it did not turn it into an F1 racer, in my experience it did markedly improve acceleration. I liked it much better than the Toyota Corolla
Early 2000s had the SE-R Sentra and sheesh, 6 Spd manual were times we didn't know how good we had it Yet this w/ such poor gas mileage alternatively (45+ mpg) and not nearly as fun affordable sports-like car?! Shame. But the interior quality looks way more improved though to give them credit I want Nissan to win again, come on
I like the direction Nissan is going with their designs and I hope they manage to elevate themselves above the “Chrysler of Japan” reputation. I recently bought a Corolla but if there was more time between now and the “Jatco CVTs always fail” reputation they earned I could definitely see myself in a Sentra instead.

Every now and then a thought will creep into my mind like " maybe ill get an Altima or Sentra just for shits and giggles, make some people mad😈" People forget that these things are SUPPOSED to be cheap Point A to B cars. What else are they expecting?? Also, Nissan is one of the few that still offer interesting color options (like that orange) for cheap which is pretty nice in my opinion

The Sentra is excellent, however, if you can comfortably afford the extra $5k, and do a reasonable amount of driving, I'd go for the Altima. More roomy, quiter ride (Sentra tends to have road noise), and better sound system.
You sound like my son. I just brought the 2024 Nissan Sentra Sv Premium and my son said, "it look so basic" but once he saw the interior and the music, he was impressed. I love my new car, great video
@mslafay7 I bought the metallic gray SR premium a couple of weeks ago, with the black 18 in wheels. I got it at MSRP which is the crazy part. And I came from owning a 2016 Altima SR that had 133k never had CVT issues, or any other major mechanical problems. And it wasn't loaded like the Sentra. Felt like an upgrade to me.
I've got my Frosted Flakes and Coke Zero and I'm buckled in! Let's go! I love the fact that the Nissan Sentra has a real, old-fashioned retractable sunroof. Nothing is better than light and air in the cabin. Still, I hate the cheap plastic Toys R Us quality infotainment screen plopped on top of the dash. I agree with you too. Give us a manual transmission.
Not familiar with that 'Sport Button'' mode in the Sentra, but on my 2021 Kia Forte, putting it into it's 'S' mode keeps it above 2000 RPM's at all times....which I really really love btw (AND which you have the option to shift thru manually too! Which Sentras can't do).
@@kernow62 Honda'a AC are not very good, I know Toyota makes really good AC but Corolla are just cheap, thanks for letting me know, I live in the hot part of Ca. so most AC cannot cut it after 107. I know we have different types of hot.
Speaking of sedans it will be interesting to see the strategy that Hyundai/Kia are trying to do. They want to make a push of its sedans to see if they can make a difference in this segment. It involves rising cost and interest rates on its other segments.
Was ride quality affected by the low profile tires on the SR? bumpy ride? Got an Altima with the SR package and those low profile tires, and it rides like crap on anything other than smooth interstate pavement.
the only thing I dislike from the Sentra and its bigger sibblings is the floating roof styling around the C pillar, it's too much for my taste, I prefer a classic roof line.
Kirk I went to the Chicago Auto show and heard Infiniti will most likely debut their next generation Infiniti qx80 in the New York auto show which is at the end of April.
Once you start speccing this car past 25K, it doesnt seem as much of a value as say an elantra or compact utility vehicle. I'd say the SV trim with the climate package is about as high as I'd go.
Not worth 28k, that’s a trash deal. You can get a midsize sedan for that price and not to mention that midsize sedan will have more features, better ride, more room and better build quality. This car is for suckers who like getting robbed.
Agree...Sentra...no way $28k. Out the door in the US for an SV, no more than $25k tax, license, etc. no extended warranty. Really good deal if you can do it at $23k!
@@KirkKreifels to decide whether a car is poorly priced you must consider the car. Some cars are poorly priced even if they are free. A heavily, and I mean heavily, subsidize lease on this rapidly depreciating POS might be good assuming you don't exceeded the miles, and you have a dealer who will actually do warranty work.

I like how it looks. Only fear their CVT. But can be solved with a transmission cooler and regular oil change. Would add an oil coolet too.

Change the CVT fluid every 25-30K miles and youll be fine

I think it looks nice but I like the new Altima as well. For 28k though I would just go with the Atima.

I agree $20-25k this is a good deal. After that I think the Corolla and Civic become better options.

How is the AC on the Sentra? I live in a hot state and most A/C cannot cut it.
I live in Florida. It is the best AC I have tried. I have owned Honda Accord and Toyota Corolla and they aren't near as good.

trim levels not grade. Oil is measured in grades not cars.
My lease of 2022 sentra is gonna end this summer. I can finally change this annoyingly slow car.🤣
My 2022 Altima lease was up and I just purchased the 2024 Sentra SV premium... the same exact vehicle as the 2022 Altima SV minus 30 horsepower
