Excavator that digs itself 10 times slower than a experienced operator

I put a lot of hours on a new cat 320 with the same kinda set up. It doesn't replace experience and skill. I turned it all off. Way too slow.

Doesn’t remove the operator it just gives a good hand more tools to be even better, it’s change and you can either get in line or get out of the way because eventually you’ll need these skills to get a good operators job!

@@someguy920 I was lucky to grow up with heavy equipment. My dad took rien of my grandads when he passed at young age. I was hopping on equipment @ 10 yrs old. When I was 12 I was pushing hard pan in the pit with TD20 during summer.
Unfortunatley my dad followed grandads health and liquidated. We three sons were to young to take over. The economy at the time soured as well then too. But we had great childhoods.

I didn’t learn to operate so a computer can do all the work. Takes all the enjoyment out of a day’s work. I wonder what it would do when it hit rock? I used to watch my dad dig sewer line on grade. We used a laser for grade in the ditch. He’d hit rock, jump it, get back on grade and keep digging till the rock was shot out. Sometimes up to 150 feet of ditch later. After he cleared the shot debris, the laser showed everything he dug without it was perfect. Let’s see a computer controlled toy do that.

I like to see the advancement for sure but it did look like it was a little glitchy when he started moving faster. I’m sure that was probably because he outran the amount of flow the machine would put out but it still looks like a hell of a good deal to me. Even if it’s got to run slow to be accurate I would think it severely increases efficiency just due to not having to take multiple cuts to get to grade.
