Pac-Man Collection Game Sample - GBA

Yahoo! It'sa Pac-man! Well, actually, it's four Pac-Mans... or Pac-Men... whatever. This is a fun handheld experience and a good diversion from life's little problems... well, sorta. Four good (but not great) conversions of old Pacs are on this cart: Pac-Man, Pac-Mania, Pac-Attack, and the neat Pac-Man Arrangement (Pac for the modern gamer I guess). The omission of Ms. Pac-Man is one of this game's few undoings.
For whatever reason, if you've never played a Pac-Man game before, I'll give you a (very) brief overview of the games. Pac-Man is what started the whole Pac-Craze. You Play as a pizza pie with a slice missing that collects dots and can eat ghosts when he gets a power pellet. Pac-Mania is a cool "3D" Pac game where you can jump and the mazes are more complex. Pac-Attack, which is likely the least exciting of the bunch, is a very simplistic puzzle game akin to Tetris but with some Pac-Appeal. Pac-Man Arrangement is like regular Pac-Man but with a lot of new Pac-Tastic surprises. Those dumb Pac-Puns doing anything for ya?

I still have my copy, I can tell by the scrungy music they ported the Genesis version of Pac-Attack.

Interesting how Pac-Attack uses the music from the Genesis/Mega Drive version instead of the SNES version in this compilation.

I LOVE this game. The 3-D effects are really cool! I enjoy the fact there are different options and games to play. This is just plain fun.

As a result of Pac-Man confirmed in the roster of Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U during E3 2014, Bandai Namco re-released Pac-Man Collection and Pac-Land on the Wii U Virtual Console service as of June 10th, 2014.

Pac Man's on drugs in Pac-Man Arrangement

I love Pac-Man Collection for the GBA, but there some negatives that don't like about it:
1. Pac-Attack/Pac-Panic does not have a 2-player vs mode for link cable multiplayer. Same goes for Pac-Man, Pac-Man Arrangement and Pac-Mania.
2. In Pac-Mania, the Jungly Steps maze plays the wrong background music and the other maze's BGM loops rather than playing the full versions of the maze's BGM's!
And 3. The high scores, edited high scores and edited number of extra lives cannot be saved because lazy Nintendo forgot to install a save battery into the Pac-Man Collection GBA cartridge. Meaning, you have no choice but to edit your high scores and the number of extra lives every time you start up each game on the Pac-Man Collection GBA cartridge over and over again, especially when you turn off your GBA and turn on your GBA again! Even the Namco Museum and Namco Museum: 50th Anniversary GBA cartridges for the GBA are guilty for not having save batteries installed into them as well!

I think I still have this somewhere! :o I wonder why they shortened the music themes in Pac-Mania and Pac-Man Arrangement? Most of the BGMs where shortened to about half their original lengths!
Also, why did they use the Genesis music and graphics for Pac-Attack in stead of the SNES ones? Sure the menu screen looked a lot nicer in the Genesis version, but the SNES version had better music that was in stereo, despite the Genesis also having stereo capabilities.

@alvieao2 Well, Ms. Pac-Man was already on the GBA version of Namco Museum, released around the same time, so it wouldn't have made much sense. Besides, I see the GBA Namco Museum and Pac-Man Collection as companion games.

I will give it a 9.8. is still amazing!!! Probably my favorite GBA game. I am not a big fan of the GBA, I am more like a DS/3DS guy, but if I am picking up a GBA game, it will be this one and maybe Sonic Atvance.

have you tried playing Pac Hero on your phone? It is better and newer. I stopped playing pacman already.
