Thank you so much. Both of my wife's keys were failing for her Pilot. I bought the one from the link you provided and it was fixed in about a two minute. Appreciate you!!!!
I've got the chip in mine. I ended up using drimmel and cutting out my chip from old key fob and fitting into amazon shell. Not perfect but new screw and shell keeps everything in place. It works good enough.

@kelleyregan8921 if the fob part with the 3 buttons is glued you should be able to pry off of the clam shell. It may only have a drop of glue. Sounds like someone replaced a battery and broke it and then glued it, as it should fall right out after opening the clam shell
It's my understanding as long as you are using same key and battery case (the part he covered up ) then it shouldn't effect the immobilizer transponder because that's where it's located 🤷♂️
I notice you didn't have the immobilizers is that normal ? I have a 2011 honda accord , my key fob broke off and i opened it but i dont think i had one when i opened it i fear i dropped it but i dont think so .
I am pretty sure that on the 2011 honda Accord, the key is similar to the one I showed. The chip is on the circuit board, inside the little case, and is not a separate little chip like older honda keys. Put it together and test it, if it starts you are golden.
I don’t see the link to the kit, but I’ll look. My problem is that I can’t get the screw loose. Feels like it was super glued in place. The key broke out of the fob, but I can’t do much with that dang screw stuck in place. At least I have a plan if I can free it. Thanks.
Others have mentioned an immobilizer chip. I don't know what year vehicle the key in the video is, but it is different inside the clamshell than the keys for my '05 CR-V and my '06 Accord. The keys for those two cars have another small part that must be transferred to the new clamshell to be able to start the vehicle. If you open up the key you have you'll be able to see whether or not yours looks like the one in the video, or if it has the other little part that is about twice as big a a grain of rice. If your key has that immobilizer chip, just be sure to order a replacement clamshell that has the space for it and transfer it to the new clamshell along with the key blade and the electronics module with the buttons plus the battery inside. The procedure is otherwise the same.
@tylertrovato5688 This video includes the security feature. It is integrated in the small box where the battery is housed. Different years or models have a small peice or magnet that must be moved as well, but these keys for this model does not have that and is the reason I did not show it.

i have done this but the replacements ones just break too *up to 3 of them) - it is a bad design - where the thin plastic around the screw can't handle the twist force.
Oh wow if I knew this is all I had to do, I would’ve been did this 😭 I’ve had the shell for like 5 months and was going to take it to someone and I didn’t even need to
That's exactly why I make these videos. My channel is here to help learn about tools, tech, and diy. Feel free to watch a few other videos, and if it makes sense, please consider subscribing.
It may be stripped, you will need to add some force against the screw as you inscrew it. You can do this with a flat head driver against the screw or by prying the housing on the key as you unscrew. It may also be the screw is frozen in there so a little heat or some pb blaster to loosen it up may work
fob fits perfectly but car wont start, notice there is an extra piece on the replacement covering the key, the original key fob is even, leaving the key longer.
Keys can be different between the generations. The older model has a small pill that needs to be moved as well. I didnt have any to show like that when I recorded this video.
@JuanAvila-mb5yk That is strange. On some Hondas the fob has a small chip that is removed from the original key and placed in the new key. It is a small black chip near where the metal key is in the plastic casing. They sell a different plastic clam shell for that. Did you get the right one and did you move the small chip over?
@@edtheoldtechguyAfter all I’ve done, replaced the battery and the keyless entry does not work, the light in the fob does light up, I’ve checked the terminals and they’re fine…What could be the problem?

@sethdawg This year make and model do not have a separate immobilizer chip. it's built into the push button unit. Glad I could help!
My 2002 accord had an immobilizer chip that I also had to transfer to the new case. Took a little adjusting, but it works like the original.
I replaced my key fox's clamps shell recently too, lol

Mine did too but I broke it to open it and popped the chip part out 🙂 maybe that will work for you?

Nice
It is not original with me how program another one
You need the scan tool that can do it or you are paying the dealer bro
You have to carefully pry out the little immobilizer chip on the inside side..take some pliers…and peel it out…Otherwise it wont work!
Only for the older keys. The newer ones only the box needs to be moved over as I show in the video.
