First off thank you for the video absolutely great install video.. my question is why don’t my rear door speakers work? I have check the harness’s in he doors so that’s not the issue the 4 front speakers do work and quite well what am I missing??

I wired it in, got power and no sound. The blue and white wire has a tag that says remote.
No negative earth stuff right?

I have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 stock head unit with infinity speakers do you recommend upgrading them when changing the head unit? Sounds pretty bad right now with no bass. I guess what I'm asking is will the speakers I have defeat any head unit upgrade? I'm not sure if it already has amplified bass or any thing else hard to find any information.
You will hear a sound quality improvement, but you will still have the bottleneck of poor factory speakers. Start with the radio, then see how it sounds. If it's still poor, replace the speakers.
If I mirrored this install on my 02 ram (non infinity) with the pioneer 6010bs why would I only have highs coming out or front doors... no speakers installed in the dash... only four coaxial, one in each door. Matched the colors on wiring harness and metered the front door wiring good for continuity. Is there an factory amp I would have to bypass or something. Pls help
You still may have a factory amp, non infinity brand. On your wiring harness, be sure that the blue or blue / white wire is hooked up to your radio's blue / white wire. Give that a shot.
Is there any other harness that works on 05 with Infinity system? I'm hooking up an alpine cda 7897 with 3 rca outputs.

Great video, very informative. I have a quick question for you though. How do I know if my truck(2005 Dodge ram quad cab) has the base system or the infinity system installed? Are there any markings or something to signify that it's one or the other? I have more questions but let's start with this one first. It might answer the rest. Thank you in advance.
Generally the Infinity logo will be on the speaker grills of each speaker.

Will a new head unit improve the sound quality as opposed to stock?
Maybe, but most likely not very much. It might give you more options as for as an equalizer or other input methods though, and it gives you more options for speaker expansion in some cases.
how can I tell which sound system I have without tearing into it ? Also which harness do I need to retain the steering wheel controls?
Sonic Electronix has a great vehicle fit guide to help you determine which sound system you have. Generally, if you have the infinity system, the brand logo will be present on the speaker grills / radio.
Sweet I had to tie all the wires together, but when I went to turn it on the antenna wire touched the other exposed wire and started smoking which caused the electrical tape to melt a little, it turned on and worked perfect, but as soon as the wires touched it hasn’t worked since, so I guess I shorted a wire some were huh? Any suggestions?

What happens if I use the non amplified wire harness with the amplified system?
Poor sound quality, or it just flat out will not work right.
I have a 04 ram 1500 with infiniti sound which i am guessing has an amp. Aftermarket radio comes on. Yet no sound. I already try the blue wire connected to red wire and still no sound. Factory radio works fine. Help please!!! Thanks

The power for that comes from the reverse light
Why did you change the deck ? The soundstream system looked like a better unit , looked to be a slide out touch screen
first, this is a very old video, and SSL units are very poor quality. second, the Pioneer installed (years ago now) had a much better audio quality, processor, and RCA output voltage, an overall better unit. third, sometimes we don't get to decide what radio the customer wants, they ultimately get the choice what they want in their truck.

Make sure harnesses are tight and check fuses.

Hook up the blue wire or blue white wire on the harness adapter to your radio's amplifier trigger wire (also indicated by blue /white generally), that is your remote turn on wire and will trigger your factory amp to turn on.
How do you make the steering wheel controls work with an aftermarket radio?
This truck wan't equipped with them, however, it you do have those features, you can retain them using the Metra Axxess ASWC-1
you have to buy the steering wheel addaptor there about 50 buck any best buy cheaper through ebay or amazon
what did you do with the extra yellow and black wire on the harness?
Generally that is the mute wire. Just cap it off.
i think i bought the wrong harness i have the infinity sound system so it comes with an amp. i tried to hook it up with the regular harness and the radio lights up but no sound
Did you tie in the blue or blue / white wire in the harness to your radio?
I have a 2004 bought the adapter for a aftermarket radio put it in and get no power to the radio any idea
start checking fuses. Use a multi-meter and that will get you going in the right direction.

Hey so i wired everything and hooked it up and I tested it it went on let me through the set up and wasn't getting any radio feedback so I just checked the back of it to make sure the antenna plug was plugged back in and put it back and now the stereo doesn't even turn on
Check all wiring connections, check your fuses. Use a multi meter to test for continuity.
Lemme ask u a dumb question where do i check the fuses?
The fuse box under the hood by the battery and there is a fuse box on the driver side behind the knee panel underneath the steering wheel. Check to make sure the radio fuses are not blown. Generally there is a fuse diagram.

There may be the Infinity branding on the speaker grills. Start there.

I'm 22 don't know anything about changing out a radio could you do a video for a double din as well plus how do I know radio system I have Provo beast
A double din does not fit in the factory location without modifying and cutting the dash bezel. If you want a double din without the extra work, try purchasing a flip out monitor radio which will work fine in this application. If you see the infinity Sound system logo in the truck, you have the upgraded amplified system. If not, most likely it is the basic setup.

It does, but has been discontinued for some time.

You didn't explain the most crucial part. Not everyone can follow the colors. Explain how to hook up wiring harness.

Probably the question you been waiting to hear. I have 03 ram, got the same CD player and connectors. Matched the colours to the adapters.
When I power on it worked ok for about five minutes when I was in a call then I lost connection with the caller about a minute in. Just After that it started going back and forth on the display from Bluetooth on to menu. Back and forth between the to automatically.
