    I've been using my S9+ for going on 4 years, and I still love it. Gorgeous screen, still plenty powerful and never had a single problem with it. I was gonna replace the battery for $100, but Samsung just sucked me in with their trade-in promotion. They gave almost $300 for it so I picked up an S21 FE 5g 128 gB for only $315. It's actually the same size as the S9+ and works essentially the same except the 4500 mAh battery is a big plus as is the 4 years of promised system updates. It was "an offer I couldn't refuse", so wish me good luck with it.

      Just a short update on my new US S21 FE 5g with SD 888 CPU. I've had it for 3 months now, and I'm extremely happy with it. Like I said before, it reminds me a lot of my wonderful old S9+, and I also haven't had a single problem with it (yet). It's great to have a new, powerful phone that runs for 8 to 9 hours of screen time. Though I really loved my S9+, I'm missing it less and less these days.
      BTW, if anyone is thinking of upgrading to a new phone, the S21 FE 5g is a great choice, and Samsung has been reducing its price by "a lot" lately. Good luck...

    • @fancyfeast2577

      The screen is much cleaner, clearer on the s9 then the S21FE

    • @lindadee2053
      @lindadee2053 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@fancyfeast2577 Even on my S9+ I kept the display at FHD+ (for battery life) except for "special occasions". The screen on the S9+ could be "punchier" at times, but for regular use both displays look just fine to my eyes. There's no way you can legitimately say that the display on the S21FE 5g isn't perfectly acceptable even at "just" FHD+ and 60Hz.

    One thing I don't think is mentioned a lot about this phone is that after a few years of use (or possibly less) the focusing mechanism on the main lens has a tendency to degrade and stop functioning. Otherwise it holds up pretty well.

    I would Highly recommend getting a Samsung Galaxy S9+ in 2022! I am watching, and commenting, on my S9+. Three reasons Samsung phones have gone to the dumps (in no particular order): 1. NO power brick with newer phones 2. NO headphone jack in newer phones 3. NO EXPANSION SLOT! Really Samsung?? I was hoping that the S22 line would add an expansion slot, but I was disappointed. I was due for an upgrade 2 years ago, but haven't. I may have to leave the Samsung like of phones. Other rant: Why do we need a PHONE with a gazillion mega pixel cameras? Sorry Samsung, no one is going to make a full featured movie on a Samsung phone. Stop it with he camera upgrades and put back in the expansion slot, headphone jack and a Bigger Battery. Without the gazillion mp camera, one could put a 7,000mAh battery in a phone.

    "Not amazing anymore"?! No way!! This phone has the best resolution specs, a micro SD slot, Amazing bass sound, and a headphone jack. The only minuses are: bezels (although not too bad), lack of updates (samsung does this to force people to buy newer phones with higher price tags and less specs), and the bixby button. But even to this day, I can't find any new phone which beats the specs, resolution, and sound!

    I got my self a S9 Plus as a backup phone. The main reason I got it is because Samsung's newer OS's don't support the Gear 360 camera or Samsung Oculus VR. I hate that Samsung new phones are not supporting the Gear 360 or haven't come out with an updated one. The battery is not the greatest but it feels way better on my hand compared to the S22 Ultra. Always been a Note fan, so always carried big phones and never realized how light the S Series were. The finger sensor is in a great position, I preferred it more than the onscreen sensor. And I think Samsung Irise scanner could have matched Apple's face recognition. The top and bottom vessel are not intrusive at all. I preferred an uninterrupted screen free of camera holes and notches

    I have owned this phone since September 2018, going from the S5 to the S9+ and 4 and a bit years later it's still performing well. Of course the battery life has deteriorated but I'm not a heavy user - using a laptop mainly - so it doesn't faze me. It's the longest phoned I've owned and I'm impressed that I've managed to keep it in such good condition - no cracks on screen, etc. The only concerning issue I've faced which ironically I never had on my cheaper, more plasticky predecessors - is the lock button decided to fall out about a year or so ago and since then I've had to keep it taped in as I could very easily lose it. Otherwise, it still works great and barely lags. It has dawned on me though that I will have to consider upgrading in the next year or so which I am quite reluctant to do, but I will certainly keep it as a backup phone if I can.

    We loved our S9+ phones. I am using the S22 Ultra now but still love my S9+. The blue is an amazing color. Wish I had it on my new one. I live in 4G BFE so I rarely get to use my 5G power. I was a die hard Note 7 guy. Loved that one. I had 2 and only surrendered 1 of them. Samsung kept sending kill phone updates and I kept never installing them. That Note 7 was Samsung's best phone ever. The 9+ is my 2nd favorite.

    As a casual gamer and all that, given the jack socket, the micro SD and dual aperture cam, 6G ram (comparable to 2022 entry/mid level) ... It is a GREAT choice, if you know your needs. I'm still using mine as a main device, thinking of upgrading as my needs have changed, but I'll keep it as secondary for travel, or because it's still a pretty fancy high quality drone monitor, remote control or car GPS, or music player, for example. It all depends how you look at it. Also, breaking through changes on hardwares are going to slowdown, to focus more on soft and services, so I don't think It'll be that far in 2 years from now, unless everything goes back to pre-cv-19 era

Well, it is still very premium feeling and powerful phone, however since it is a couple of Android versions behind, now I just don't know about it, probably not recommended to buy it in 2022, however if you still have one and aren't having any issues, then you can probably still hang onto it for a little while longer.

    I had the S9 and regret upgrading to the S22. The camera is a bit nicer but that's about the only improvement and slightly louder speakers but don't get me started on the cons. Oh and 45W fast charging can have your phone charged in anout 1 hour which is nice. CONS!!! Poor battery, hard to take photos outdoors because of the new technology of eye protection and you can't even see yourself trying to do a video outdoors with the screen brightness all the way up, well you can but you can barely see yourself. I miss the vivid colors and curved display. The S22 looks like an ancient phone because of the dull colors. No SD card storage. No headphone jack. Also the phone is not even faster then the S22. Isn't the S22 supposed to be faster? It's identical. Same speed. The camera is the only reason to upgrade if choosing to do so. I feel like the front facing camera is definitely nicer but to be honest I wouldn't upgrade yet unless you have to. You will miss the S9. Also FIY my S9 still works great and I bought it in 2019 so it's only 3 years old to me. I don't expect most phones to last more then 5 years regardless. Maybe 4-6 (6 if you are lucky). So probably another year. I used a Sup case for mine.

    This phone is one of the best phone I have ever purchased. I moved to Samsung after the iPhone 6s Plus because the quality of that phone was awful. The screen kept on breaking, had to replace it 5 times and scratches and just a bad product. I used to be an apple user, but now I am a Samsung one. The S9+ I have looks and feels like the day I bought it no scratches or problems at all battery still the same last two days of use, so now why would upgrade and pay more money for another phone? I use the S9+ to pay with Google Pay play games has a great resolution, the clarity of the screen is just fantastic. Great phone.
