As of this morning October 26, 2019 online manual at usa-mpp-solar.com/manuals/ is updated to reflect changes in regards to current sharing cables needing to be connected while in parallel split phase 240 Volt mode.
Hi, I am trying to set 2 units of 5048MGX in parallel. I can't get to change the P28 setting from SIG to PAL. I connected the parallel boards, current sharing cables and com cables before trying to change those settings. I did them one at a time. Switched it on, I could modify everything I wanted apart from P28. then switched it off. No luck either on the 2nd inverter. If I get you correctly: 1. Switch on inverter, allow it to boot fully 2. Go to P28 3. While on P28, switch off the inverter 4. In the small interval before it actually switches off, set P28 to PAL 5. Allow inverter to shut down on its own. 6. Repeat the process for the 2nd inverter 7. Switch in both inverters at the same time?
It says to configure the inverter at P28 to PAL switch it off, and power on again. It emphasized switching off AFTER programming. But what i saw you do had a little more detail, you changed the value AFTER switched off, but before the unit powered down. I didn't read that part in the manual.
@@alexanderezra1509 Looking in the manual for 5048MGX, page 54, it says to use same steps as LV5048 while programing: "This setting is only available when the inverter is in standby mode (Switch off)." What it means is go to menu #28, turn off power switch, change setting and wait for it to shut down. Have you tried that ?
That's sequence is what I didn't understand. But thanks to your video I confirmed what it was. I have not tried that, the small manual sent with the inverter did not specify in standby mode. I'll try it tomorrow when I get to site. Thanks a bunch. Could you send me the link to the 5048MGX. P.s one of the inverters did not connect to the watch power app.
Thank you for all you video's, great work !! I could not get my phases set up until I watch this video even after reading the manual numerous times. I had to use Watchpower to get it to upload and change properly. I just got two LV6548 inverters online today.
I am in the process of connecting to the Lv 6048 in parallel having issues with the settings. My question is the solar cables are connected to only one of the two inverters. Is that what constitutes the inverter as being the number one inverter, and therefore change the pin settings on inverter two? And your videos are great, thank you
@@DMIINC2013 One is an LV 5048 that has been upgraded (MPP has a kit for $30) to a LV 6048 and is in parallel with a recently purchased LV 6048. With the help of the people at MPP the parameter setting issue has been resolved but I'm still interested in your answer hoping that you can provide information for an improved setup.
To answer your question. Solar input does not make one inverter master or slave. Switches do. So one inverter must be set as master and other the slave. Follow the instructions for switch setup and then menu items for programming. Parallel setup can only be achieved when power switch is in the off position.
@@tanner3801 The inverter has been and still is working great after the conversion. Probably took me 1 1/2 hrs to replace to two boards. However if you do it, I'd recommend labeling all wires that will need to be disconnected, makes it an easy task when reassembling.
I am consider 2 of the LV2424 Hybrid 2 x 2400W 24V 120V Solar Inverter Split Phase , incl parrallel kit on eBay for a 240 split phase in USA application. I am studying the manual plus asking the USA eBay supplier questions, and looking on TH-cam for whatever other info. I can find. Appreciated some finer points of your video clip here. Thanks. I assume your 240 v ac split phase system is working flawlessly, but you left that info. out of your clip. Please give a statement of how it going since you got your two MPP brand units configured and working together. That will be a good reference for others like me this is 240 split phase option is really doable.

So far units have performed very well. No issues. I might even add a third unit next spring.
Why would you get 2 of the lv2424 instead of one lv5048? Are you set up for 24 volt with only 2 12 volt batteries?
Pls let me know if id step could be skipped. The buttons are so small almost invisible!
ID must be set. One inverter must be set as master (ID 0) and all others in slave.

Can the LV5048 run on one 120v line in and one 120v line out?
I have not tried that scenario. I think it will throw a fault and shut down.
