    Thank You and great idea on the paralleling them to balance out that would be top balancing is that correct? Leaf battery should be here after Thanksgiving then I'll get started on installation of LV5048 and Leaf Bank. Another question how did you make buss bars? flattened copper pipe? I've seen that before type L is the thickest.

      Yes I guess you could call it top balancing but you can do it at any state of charge 😉.

    Can you tell me where you purchased your inverter and which one it is? So that I can buy one.

      I purchased it from MPP solar in Taiwan you can find them at www.mppsolar.com and the one that you are looking for is the LV 2424 that's the one I had.

    Thanks for the set up on the MPPT. Took me a week to find you,but very helpful. I seen another video where you run the dryer,microwave and other appliances,I also seen that you say leg 1 and leg 2. Do you have 2 MPPT in series,and I would like to know how you have your setup.

      The lv5048 come with two charge controllers inside one unit and it's also a split phase 240 that's why you hurt me say leg one and leg too. You can also run it as a single phase 120 unit 2.

    I have a 5kva novel mppt 230volt. I am having trouble installing it to my breaker. It only has 3 legs,L,black wire, N,white wire and G,green wire. It also has the grid input. It works fine on the grid input. But when I try to switch over to SBU or SOL. It cuts off on me,now I put it on 60hz. Which is what I need being in the United states. But it keeps blowing light bulbs and burning my surge protector. Had it not been for the surge protectors I would have damage my Samsung fridge and other appliances in the house. How do I connect this to a breaker? I have 12 solar panels and 4 100ah 20 hour batteries that are fully charged.

      Sounds like to me you have a 230 single phase you will have to use a transformer to use that in the United States. The 230 volts will have to be ran through a transformer and brung down to 120 votes it's videos on TH-cam showing you how to do this.

    Thank you for your videos and i have a question , on the 5KVA 48V 230ACv output. can the Voltage
    be adjusted to 110/120ACv using the display panel or are there any other way to do it ?

    • @carsonlurbanwindandsolar3437
      @carsonlurbanwindandsolar3437  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe that unit is a single phase if you are in the United States or Canada you need a split phase 240 ACv . The LV5048 is a split phase.

      You can also use an ST-5000 Transformer to convert Single Phase to Split phase.
      Off-Grid Steve has a video on how to do it.

    Thank You Very much for sharing your settings. I'm sure this WILL come in handy to a lot of us in the not to distant future! :)
    I have a question regarding the Leaf batteries that you may perhaps be able to answer. I have access to some packs where some are reading at 53.4v and some at 54.3v. Do you think I'd need to take any special precautions regarding trying to adjust the voltages before paralleling them all together so they would all read the same/identical voltage? Thank you for any consideration towards a response.-Al

      parallel them all together and let them sit for 24 hours to let them equalize. Disconnect them and check them again with your voltage meter to see if they all equalized out and if they did then put them into service.

    I bought the lv5048 last night I can't wait for it to get here, one thing that I cant seem to figure out is if It can float my batteries at 52v and have the inverter never draw from them as long as I have PV or grid power. Basically I don't want to cycle my batteries everyday and just keep them there as a backup and mainly run solar during the day and switch to grid at night, is this possible on this unit?

    Hi Carson, how can I set the DOD on the inverter. I want to set 80% DOD for lifepo4 battery and I can't find the option. One more thing you set your cut-off voltage at 40V. Why do you choose 40V??

    • @carsonlurbanwindandsolar3437
      @carsonlurbanwindandsolar3437  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Explain to me what you are meaning by DOD so we both can be on the same page. And the reason why I cut mines off at 39 volts is because I like to have reserve in case we have a power outage or something I have a little power left in the battery to make it until the next day. It also give the battery a little bit longer Life by not discharging them to 35 votes completely discharged.

      @@yoneidisantana if you're inverter is a lv5048 press the enter key hold it for a couple of seconds then scroll up to 12 hit the enter key again and then you can set it whatever you like.

      I have the same issue. I see you are connected to grid as well but using the batteries. I see the grid icon just like urs but there is no path from the icon to the batteries. Meaning u are using ur batteries to power load not the grid.

    I need help configuring my inverter to achieve the following:
    1.0 I want only solar to charge my 48v Nissan leaf batteries
    2.0 I want the inverter to only switch on utility when the battery voltage drops down to 48v
    3.0 I want the inverter to switch back to battery when solar has charged battery to 57v
    4.0 I want grid to be off during 3.0 above
