Question for you! I'm itching to up my photo game.Landscape and scenery stuff mainly. Something relatively compact I can take with me when I'm hunting and fishing. What should I be looking for?

I hope they don't treat the a6700 as poorly as they did the a6500. They let the a6500 fall off the planet and no support after the 6300-6600 bodies came out.

Based the research I've been doing I see the a7c ii as a full frame 33mp photo camera, and an apsc video camera with similar quality to a6700. The a7iv has poor rolling shutter in ff 4k, but the rolling shutter is actually a bit better in apsc mode than the a6700. A hope that I have is that the a7c ii has dynamic active stabilization mode like the zv e1. This will give it a 1.3x crop, and my hope is that it will have usable rolling shutter in this mode.

Back to see what you think! I have an a7r5 but want a second, smaller cam for travel and edc. I feel like the a7c is just too expensive! I may try apsc again and see how it goes. I’m mostly photography and have full frame lenses. Bright side is I will have some extra reach! Lol
doing some overheating tests with the a6700 today will post a video tomorrow or the next day :)

What "bothers" me most with my A7IV and FX30 combo is the fact that I can't utilize the same focal length with the same set of lenses. I mean, I knew that in the first place, but it bothers me more than I thought. Besides my FF glas I also own a few APSC lenses, which I can't let go 😂 which makes the decisions which lenses to choose even harder. If the FX3 wouldn't be twice as expensive, I would love to have a FF only setup.

I just saw a video the a6700 overhears like crazy.Doesn't seem too reliable. Hoping the a7cii won't have this problem.

In my opinion, if youre doing any kind of professional work, the FX30 is a must over the a6700. You need something reliable. Even if we pretend the quality of an FX30 was bad, if its reliable, you at least know what comes out of it. Just imagine you can't work because it overheats.

So 2023-2024 sony a7iii still the best choice!

Yeah I am for sure. Another reason I’m not opening the package quite yet. More and more reviews have it sucking in overheating performance. I’ll have to see how the A7cii overheating tests go!

Depends on the EVF and LCD specs - those on the 6700 were atrocious.

A6700 has 4K 120, but A7CII maxes out at 4K 60?
haha Truth, probably because the a7cii mirrors the a7iv so much - same sensor - I also heard that the a6700 has limitations at 4k 120fps 1.58x crop and less detail in the image
The FX30 is only $400 more than the a6700 and it has a fan.
true, I love the idea of having a viewfinder but it just might not be worth it.
I just boxed up my a6700… reluctantly. Phenomenal camera paired with the right lens. Unfortunately the one deal breaker was the over heating .
I found that with larger quality SD cards it can get pricey and could as well just move to dual slot cam. Most of all is the heat. Sony has to do better. No excuses at that price. It’s not a cinema cam… but the planet is heating up Sony😮.

I ran the a6700 until the Battery went dead at XAVC S 4K 100M 4.2.2 10Bit and it never overheated in that 2 hour+ time. Just don't use HS as in XAVC HS 4K 100M 4.2.2 10Bit. The compression will cause the process to work harder and overheat just to give you a few more minutes of time and will not give you a better image.
To be honest you could by a used Sony A74.
