    Hey, you can get the warbrd-D base nowadays. just remove the spring on the front-back axis, and turn on the clutch a little, ta da you have an omni throttle deadstick. No need for that throttle at all. You can get the basic warbrd for the right hand, make sure to get the D variant for the left hand so you can make it a deadstick. (it costs a lot yes but it costs less than getting a throttle as well).

    • @Reds_Resort
      @Reds_Resort  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I forgot about this. I think I dismissed it out of hand when I heard about it because the thought of replacing a spring to play a different game was just too much bother. But your right it would be a good alternative to buying a whole throttle. You at least have the option to switch to space style any time you like.

    I had thought the T-Flight HOTAS Systems came out *after* the T16k v1.0. I was playing with the Thrustmaster F-16/Top Gun sticks until about 2008? I'm forgetting what I played Starlancer on when I was in Moscow. I bought the v1.0 T16K (solo) in 2013 or 2014 for SC. I don't remember exactly when, but I know I had it well before my son was born in October 2014. I specifically had to run my cable management so that I could hide it from him inside my coffee table while I was at work. That v.1 T16K still works better than either of my v.2 Space Sim Duos. They definitely cut corners on the Z-Axis between v.1 and v.2. I had no idea that the T-Flight line was so old. I don't remember ever seeing it in Russia. I think the first I saw it was when the PS4 and Xbox versions came out in 2013. It would have been interesting to play Starlancer on that rather than just a right stick and keyboard.

    Just wanted to throw this out there, but I made a dual stick set up with pedals for under 120 dollars. I got 2 Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joysticks for 23 dollars a piece from Amazon, and a set of PXN racing pedals from Microcenter for 70 dollars. The Logi's wont last long, there is already some drift on one of mine in fact, but just to try a set up like this you can't beat the price. I went from getting to round 7 on Pirate Swarm in Arena Commander to beating it and Vanduul Swarm solo. The analog thrust controls help the most, and the immersion is phenomenal. If someone isn't sure about flying with a stick I highly suggest trying the Logi3D, as its cost of entry is soooo low and it can be added to a set up you slowly acquire. I have the Saitek X52 HOTAS too and honestly prefer the cheaper set up purely for the analog thrust control. This video was phenomenal, it said everything I would say about why a flight stick feels so great to use!

    Man I just love your dead pan delivery and humour when doing these. You’re a real fresh approach to a lot of standard content delivers who just read the patch notes and pass that as content (no offence meant to anyone that does this, it’s just is not my vibe for this game).
    You seem to be getting stronger and better all the time with unique views and ideas about content.
    Great flying skills btw. That footage flying around NB made me wanted to start up SC and hide away from the family for a day 😅
    Wish we could fly totally freely around all cities. That in itself would accept me for days! As it is, we get ejected for some bizarre reason anytime you go somewhere you shouldn’t 🤷‍♂️. Has anyone mapped where and where you cannot go in these cities? I’d watch that so I know where I can have fun and soak up the details in the cities.
    Hope your channel continues to go from 💪 to 💪.

    I'm planning to eventually get a set of VKB sticks for Star Citizen. I planning on using the same stick binds as you with a few differences. One difference is omni-throttle conversion for both sticks because I think it will be better for ergonomics. Another difference is I plan to use the left stick twist axis for forward/reverse thrust to avoid spending money on pedals. If that doesn't work as I hope then I will use a analog thumb stick on top of the left stick for forward/reverse thrust.
    Playing Grand Turismo on Playstation (original for both) got to the point that the buttons didn't give enough throttle control. I switched the game controls so that the left analog stick was throttle forward and reverse, right analog stick was steering and the shoulder buttons were for shifting. Took a couple weeks for me to get used to the change but after that it was so good.

    My setup is "HOSASATAFOP" ("hands on stick and stick and throttle and feet on pedals"), I have dual VKB Gladiator NXTs AND TWCS Throttle & Pedals. I have my directions set on the right stick, (pitch, yaw, roll), speeds on the left stick (left/right and up/down strafes, plus limiters). Forward/Back is on the pedals (right goes forwards, left goes back.) TWCS Throttle controls forward. When I'm just cruising around, I can just use HOTAS leisurely. If I need to maneuver precisely or fight, I'll just switch my left hand from the throttle to the stick and now I have HOSAS precision. I used to have dual T.16000Ms (And the throttle and pedals), but swapped those to NXT Gladiators for a decent upgrade with a low-ish budget.
    The Gladiators + TWCS Trottle (+ the bigger Stream Deck) offer more than enough buttons for every possible scenario you need in Star Citizen.
    Having both also means I don't sacrifice anything when play other flight games, like DCS or Flight Simulator. I can just ignore the left stick on normal airplanes, or use it as a collective when flying a helicopter.
    Yes, I understand, I come off as a flight sim nerd, and I don't care :D It's one of my all-time favorite game genres, and I've flown HOTAS since Falcon 3.0. HOSAS popped into my life a tad before I became a Citizen, but has stayed a staple ever since. Now I fly both in every game that supports multiple controllers.
