- A continuation of my first adventure with my camera to Port Mulgrave. Early morning towards Runswick.
Caution warning for a some blood towards the middle when I mess up an ammonite split!
Big thanks to Shae Smith from @YorkshireFossils for hauling the rocks up at the end.
Check out their channel with fossil hunts at / @yorkshirefossils
Also check out their shop and info about guided tours at yorkshirefossi...
Oh man ,nice hunt feel for you smacked my thumb in the autumn boy it hurts 😢
Yeah, always a pain in more ways than one. Thankfully thumb is on the mend. I’m hoping to get out tomorrow if the snow has eased enough and will give everyone an update.
I like your videos and how long are you an paleontologist
Sorry for the slow response. It got caught in the filter. I was an academic palaeontologist (degree/PhD/postdocs) since 2006. I’m not working in academia any longer but still fossil hunting in my spare time as much as I can
how to get to mulgrave port
Depends how you are travelling. By bus/car you can get to Hinderwell and go down the road towards port Mulgrave. This requires use of the ropes to get down. Otherwise you can walk from Runswick Bay around but takes a while and should only really be done if you are planning a short trip to port or to climb back up the ropes due to tide times
