Best comment ever. Thank you!
Vespa’s are good for the soul. They make you feel alive and live life fuller. Nice job Vespa Camper!
Thank you! Yup, it's really changed me over these past few months.
all scootys are good for the soul
Took my Chinese Honda adv clone, Transpro Aviator,150cc, air cooled, carb, to key west from Miami for a trip. Camping was the easy part, the 7 Mike Bridge was the real challenge lol but I do it again and hopefully soon
Hey bug, excellent video, you’re so funny. Yes I have a Vespa and have planned out my head a one night mid week. Camp out as well. I still haven’t done it yet but maybe I will now. Pismo, Paul.
Go for it! At the very least you'll have a story to tell.
Next time, take a Biolight Campstove 2 with you, then you have fire light and power for you phone in one place. 😊 i have two of them.
I just loved your Vespa camping experience to the point that I'm buying a small tent to have my own Vespa camping experience. Thank you for sharing and making me laugh a lot 😊🤪
That's fantastic! Glad to hear it. Watch out for bears.
Loving your videos! Enjoyed every single one so far :)
Thank you so much!
Great vid. Gives me ideas about getting out to camp. Sad you didnt seem to enjoy the area you were in. It looked really nice. Great ops for photography
I actually love the area. Oxbow Regional Park is one of the best campgrounds I've ever been to. I don't normally go to campgrounds, but this one is stellar, and the folks who run it are wonderful. I was just cold and cranky. :)
Somewhere...well, forget about it because I sold that car...but somewhere in my glove compartment of my dearly departed 2007 Mazda 5 there were cotton balls with vaseline in a empty film (35mm) case. That I got from a survival course I took around 2010.
Moot point I suppose--but it is easy enough to make.
This youtuber is hilarious btw. New subscriber--thanks for the tips.
Thanks!
Damn, I wish I'd kept all those 35mm canisters from my film photography days... I had thousands of them...
What am I doing? It's half past four in the morning, we're a week past the summer solstice and I'm watching you messing round in the woods.
The Finns have a word, no doubt unpronouncable, for this, which translates to midsummer madness, I think. Or maybe I made that up.
Anyway, thank you, you're stopping me jumping on my motorcycle and going for a ride, which sounds fun, but last time I did that I found myself two hundred miles from home wondering where I could get breakfast.
Great video! This might be one of my favourite motocamping videos so far on TH-cam. It felt very relatable, and you have a great sense of humour.
Keep it up!
Thanks David! I really appreciate that.
Thanks for the smiles
You 🤘Rock🤘
Glad you got some smiles! That makes me so happy.
As for throttle sticking. Check the cover on the cable end by throttle body has not slipped towards the frame. Sometimes, they slide down the outer and jam the outer cable so the throttle is open just a little
okay, cotton balls, with Vaseline on them. (fire starters) that's funny, I was writing this before I saw, you doing the same thing
I'm laughing my ass off over here because, when I first read this, I thought you were calling me cotton balls. OK Cotton Balls... That would be the best nickname of all time.
Greetings and good video.

Dude. Your channel is great. U gonna have a lot of subs. Just hang in there and do what U do:) Greetings from Norwegian Scooterist with a Vespa gts 2023 and a Honda X-adv 750...(Last one not sold in America, buts its nearly as quirky as a Vespa...;)
Hi! Thanks for tuning in. I dream of scootering in Norway. Some day!
When batoning wood, wedge the knife in wood of choice and then anchor knife onto something and hammer the wood. Saves the knife and provides a more stable surface to hammer! Can't wait to go camping on the ol' wasp!
Fuel from bike woul have got it going. 👍 Glad you posted this, its reality sometimes
I considered throwing the tires in the fire but realized they’re too expensive.
You're making it real. Thanks for a cool video.
Thanks for watching!
That prepackaged wood sucks, I always struggle to get it going unless I either bring some other wood or gather some from the surrounding area.
Heated grips would be helpful - cold season gloves must contain Thinsulate!!!
I'm debating heated grips vs heated gloves... I'm leaning toward gloves but keep hearing great things about grips...
at 11:08 I starting to get a real good feeling about how that polar explorer captain felt when he and his crew got stranded in the Artic...
Right? Thankfully I was basically stranded (not really) in a suburb of Portland, so I didn't really have much to complain about. I still did though.
Love Vesping hate camping 🤷🏻
Cool ride! I also want to ride my Vespa on a camping trip! Good thing is there's no off-road part on the way to that campsite.
That's my next adventure: offroad. I prefer to do dispersed camping, which usually involves dirt fire roads through the forest. Easy in a 4X4. We'll see on a Vespa!
Well done for even attempting to camp in bare country, I own a Suzuki burgman and xmax, I camp regularly in the uk, but if I camped here the little bit of sleep I got I’d be having nightmares of grizzlies ripping my tent apart lol
Truth is, I've been camping in this area for 16 years and i've seen nothing more than a frightened deer. Scared the shit out of me though.
😂👍vlogs make me laugh,❤ from Philippines
Thanks so much!
All of a sudden it came to me, I am watching a Woody Allen flick..
A Midsummer Night's Scooter Comedy.
I own a Vespa Lx50 Touring 2T, i dont have a license for anything bigger, i own a mc to, but why ? 😂 my Vespa will do 45mph when im going on a trip with it next year. Best regards from Norway.
Another very entertaining video. Thanks Bug!
I really like your yellow jacket. What brand is it?
Thanks Andre. It's the BILT Storm 2 Waterproof Jacket.
@@bugscooters Thanks Bug!
You see, I'm intensely nourishing the dream of getting a GTS 300 (Super Sport ARANCIO IMPULSIVO if possible) next Spring. I'm already online shopping for all I will need; helmet, gloves, boots, jacket, etc. It feeds the dream and will help to get over the (ㆆ_ㆆ) Winter!
So, I follow a few neat Vespa drivers like you, and I imagine myself behind the handles, and it GREAT!!!
Goodness, you made me laugh ahahahhha, don't get eaten by a bear! 😂
Thank you!!! I escaped unscathed. This time... (dramatic music)
You probably need to adjust your rear shock up 1 notch due to the extra weight.
20 foot tall hahaha. Love it buddy!
It's the weirdest thing! I've only been wearing glasses for maybe a a year and a half, so maybe I'll get used to it??
@@bugscooters I wear mine to read only. I think my arm is about 20 foot long now.... Can't see anything up close. 🤣
I know my Royal Alloy speedo is out 5mph so I know how fast I’m going.
Also, I have a scooter and a Fallkniven F1. I just need the nipple-socks.
Nipple socks are key. NEVER leave home without them.
@@bugscooters the 6th C of survival. Ray Mears sells them for $250
I've used heated grips, and they are nice, but I found a better heating solution to be a heated vest. The warmer body core helps keep extremities warm as well. I also bought a set of waterproof snowmobile gloves and find them an effective addition in cold weather. I'm riding a Yamaha BW 125, not a Vespa, but have been venturing off pavement onto gravel roads. Now there is a challenge for you. White knuckle riding at times, but better scenery and camping every time.
I would LOVE to put some knobby tires on the Vespa and go trail riding...
I have done some two-track-trail riding and usually it is suspension that limits the fun, not traction. You tend to bottom out the springs on ruts and potholes and the CVT makes crawling through tight bits even more awkward.
@@bugscooters
Pm tuning do a speed wheel to correct the speedo
When I take my glasses off and I feel like I was just born. I can’t see anything. I can’t smell and I can’t hear.
Right??? I just took mine off and now I can’t speak Italian.
Truth be told, I couldn’t before either but it’s still irritating!!!
@@bugscooters so infuriating! I took mine off last night before bed and I was able to taste purple, then woke this morning to the smell of yellow!
Ride safe mate.
Cheers!
(Perhaps we will ride into each other here in PDX one day. Not “into each other,” yet, at least be able to hear spaghetti before the light turns green.)
Oh Bug . . . this one was hysterical as always; your sense of humor never disappoints. I love watching Vespa camping videos, so pleeze keep these coming ! You might enjoy watching this video, it is from a kid who lives in Florida and brings every incredibly expensive gadget known to mankind, to go camping on his Vespa Sei Giorni. This is part 1 of 2: th-cam.com/video/ZQKNzeScSX4/w-d-xo.html Enjoy, and thanks for this ne.
Super post ....A vespa and a youtube channel can help us to do extra fun stuff. We're getting into the -0 degree's now and snow beginning to fall ...I guess the scoot will be hibernating for a few months . I hope you burnt the first part of the book ,a story without an ending can be a huge pain 😅 ohh ...yea I need bear spray but cant get in in my country so have to send to Germany for it ,i guess the Government prefer the bears 🤔 😂 ...Harry
I'm hoping we'll avoid snow this winter and I can ride through. Time will tell...

Actually, part 2 is where you will see all the crazy expensive gadgets known to mankind ! Is there anything else he could possibly have brought ? :O th-cam.com/video/bcpShl8nPG4/w-d-xo.html
Wow, that's more stuff than I take in my FJ Cruiser when I go deep. I LOVE it!
I'm left to wonder . . . is he a trust fund baby :O Just look at the price tags of some of this stuff :O
@@bugscooters
Oh no, I clicked this and now I'm falling into an entire new world of Vespa-Vloggers.
AND I DON'T EVEN LIKE VESPAS!!!
Get the behind me Satans.
Now Bug if you were a REAL MAN, you would have started your fire like this guy using dryer lint, a flint, and a knife and finished off, by eating your steak on a log !
I have goals...
You have no worries about bears there……bears never go into Bigfoot territory……..what was that..?…… I thought I saw eye shine in the darkness…..
