    Love the analysis. I've been a staunch KMC HyperMat for the last 10 years, due to durability, clarity and texture (personally). Unfortunately in Australia it can be hit and miss on stockists for KMC, usually have to order online. Have never liked Katanas or Dragon Shields but gave the Cortex a go when our LGS stocked these new and, WOW they are fantastic, and feel great. I'm not fully going to convert away KMC yet, but if these hold up like they have I may switch.
    Biggest issue is lack of colours - would love if they made them in all the other colours they have for other ranges like purple, pink, petrol, orange, yellow, cyan, turquoise and neons

      Thank you. And we agree, more colours! We are regularly surprised by accessories we expect to be bad or good that turn out to be the opposite. Enjoy your new Cortexs! ☺️

      Ultimate guard supreme ux mattes are the best I've ever used. Unfortunately it looks like they're being discontinued. They have the best shuffle feel I've ever seen, and the matte effect is stunning.

    Great video! Keep the content coming. What are the sleeves that you personally use btw? Do you use inners aswel?

    • @DoubleSleeved
      @DoubleSleeved  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      We always double sleeve 😁 but genuinely we have a range that we have tried out for some time (as you can imagine) by far the best are dragonshield mattes and katanas. Inner sleeves of ultra pro or gamegenic. Most of the time though pick the colour you like and try out sleeves, it can be somewhat subjective. ☺️ (Ps. Thank you, we are doing our best.😊)

    • @jetm7698
      @jetm7698 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DoubleSleeved Yea, same here. DS and Katanas are the best for me aswel so far. With inners, the KMC hard inners give the best protection specially for foils

    • @DoubleSleeved
      @DoubleSleeved  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jetm7698 We tested them and did our video and have tested them more and more but find that the fit is not great. We also struggle with how thick they are. No deck box will fit them in (except the XL versions) so makes it a bit tough to justify. Especially as the price is high in the UK. But if you like them then that's cool :)

    I use the cortex mattes on all of my less expensive/more casual decks (I don't get fussy about foil clarity) and I've had no problems with them so far and the price is awesome.

    Did the size of the Katana Standard size(ideal fit) sleeves change recently? I got a pack and to my surprise they were a pain to double sleeve with and worse they stood out in the deck with the rest of the Katana sleeves from last year that I had already used

    • @DoubleSleeved
      @DoubleSleeved  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interesting, not that we have seen. We sleeve a fair amount but don't do a great deal of cross comparison between ages of the same sleeves. However we have seen changes before in manufacturing quality across all brands, there is an unfortunate natural variance that can occur. If you aren't happy and have pictures that clearly show it then I'd get in touch with Ultimate Guard themselves.

      I use dragon shield perfect fit sealed inners... They r perfect for double sleeving with any sleeve since they r sealed on all 4 sides. Def get them and try.

    Been using the gamegenic matte prime as my cheap sleeve of choice, how do the cortex stack up in comparison?

    • @DoubleSleeved
      @DoubleSleeved  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. Seriously tough choice. We reviewed the Matt primes also and would say there isn't a lot between them. Personally I'd have to side with the cortex even though they are a little higher cost, they are so tough! If gloss then I'd probably go for gamegenic. But you won't be wrong with either. 😊

    • @gs8494
      @gs8494 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've been a Gamegenic fan for a long time, I received 4 packs of the Ulitimate guard matte sleeves as a gift to sleeve the 4 Forgotten Realm Edh decks back when AFR dropped, while they are more expensive I've slowly been replacing my Gamegenic sleeves on my Edh decks and Precons since then, for me worth the price difference but that's not that Gamegenics are bad as much as the Ultimate Guards are better. I would buy a couple of packs and try them, best value are Gamegenic for me but for the little extra price on the mattes the quality is worth it. Not tried the gloss sleeves yet.

      We haven't ever done a review on Supremes. It's tempting to think that although it would be just assumption.

    Of course mattes dull foils, why is this a surprise to you? The whole idea of a matte sleeve is to reduce glare, and it does that by having a non-smooth surface, which means light reflections on foils, will of course be heavily affected.

    • @DoubleSleeved
      @DoubleSleeved  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Not really a surprise, we are aware how mattes work, we have been reviewing sleeves for years. But fair enough if it sounded like surprise on our end. 🫤
