- On our search for the best TCG accessories on the market, we are always on the look out for sleeves we haven't previously reviewed. Today we see KMC's Hyper Phoenix Sleeves and put them to the test!
These sleeves were gifted to us by KMC but they do not have any input into this review or get to see it before releasing it
KMC have produced many sleeves in the past and been at the forefront of TCG accessories before. However, other big brands have taken over and they are left a little behind. Can the Phoenix's bring them back from the ashes and show everyone they have fire left in their bellies?

A++ review, very professional. I always wanted to do that review on those but it takes too much energy for me currently (Would have been in french).
I am the kind of person that purchase every card sleeves possible just to test them and eventually choose 1 to sleeve everything i own.
My first choice ended a few years ago on the KMC ultra mat premium. The durability, opacity and shuffle feeling is perfect and perfect is not a superlative, they are perfect on those point. However they are so "mat" that foil and even regular card feels fade and boring (Just the picture, not the strenght or anything related to shuffling mechanics).
So i decided this year to switch all cards (5000+) to those reviewed (Black, phoenix, KMC). The black ones do not have the red issue with transparency (On the back). Phoenix have all the advantage of the ultra mat ones, except: The shuffle only 75% as well BUT they are 100% transparent (I mean on the front side, where you look at the card).
Thank you!
Thank you so much for your comment and support! So nicely put and a great bit of additional info for everyone to see! ☺️👍
Why don’t you personally double sleeve on tournament? I always saw double-sleevers.
Glad you did this review! Theres not much info out there for these phoenix sleeves. Iv been curious cause I always liked the kmc hyper mattes. Its between that and the katanas for me. One thing that bothers me about the katanas is that I usually play the white sleeves and the inside is not the same bright white as the back lol
You are most welcome! We love katanas but there are other options out there for sure ☺️
Thanks!
You are so welcome! Thank you for your support ❤️❤️
I got these and I'm having a lot of issues double sleeving. Only about 3 of the 20 cards I've tried sleeving have gone in smoothly. Using KMC inners. Maybe a bad batch?
It does sound like a bad batch as ours were exceptionally easy to double sleeve with. If you’re having a lot of trouble then try adding an unsleeved card when you push the inner sleeved card in. That should stop the card from slipping out.
Use dragon shield resealable inners... Best inner sleeves on the market strictly because when u double sleeve the cards wont pop out the bottom since all 4 sides r covered... Def try them if u haven't.
Are the blue hyper phoenixes opaque?
A great question. I will endeavour to answer this next week.
