Much appreciated! Sure thing. I’ve got a video taking a closer look at those sealable sleeves and another looking at their non-sealable ones as well in case those help. Thanks for watching!
More videos like this is always appreciated, helping you save a couple bucks. Altough it would be nice if you showcased cards that shine more like holos from pokemon, since cards like that reflect light differently and makes the non-glare either better or worse. Nice video regardless
Thanks for the suggestion! Yes I think as I do these types of comparisons I'll try to have some more options available at time of filming to get a better cross section. Thanks for watching!
I loved it, it's almost like an asmr video, supper relaxing, and appreciate the comparison, I was just looking into it for my vanguard outersleeves for my minis, I'd have to say something about the background of the table and your voice, how the video was filmed, was just super relaxing, loved it!
Of course! I’d gotten used to how Ultra-Pro defined the sleeve front finishes and was confused myself, so I figured others may benefit too. Thanks for watching!
From what I've seen through‑out the video, it seems that Dragon Shield has finally fixed that slightly loose top issue I've had with the non‑glares that I bought (not the same as this one... Un‑less, it's the same product, but with a different box). I am very tempted to buy one.
Yeah I’d heard through the grapevine of some quality issues they had a while ago but then sounds like they got back on track. The Non-Glares I tried the last time I played shuffle very nicely from my experience!
Great Video and exactly what I was looking for! But I do have a few additional questions, as I want those sleeves primarily for my collection of foils. The front of the Non-Glares appears to be a tad more "frosted", akin to double matte sleeves, just to a lesser degree; how do colours compare, especially for the aforementioned foils? Do glossy inner sleeves change the anti-glare-effect of the outer sleeve to a noticeable degree?
Hi I am considering the non glare front since my hands are super sweaty, and mat finish usually endures sweat better for not being sticky. What do you think?
Hi there! So between these two sleeves the one I use the most has been the regular matte version (the ones with the glossy card face). I haven’t run into any issues yet with them, though I have noticed that with other glossy front sleeves in general (that have been used for many years) over time that they become a slightly less smooth. I don’t know for sure if it’s got to do with moisture exposure, or just the coating wearing off with heavy play, or something by else. Non-glare fronted sleeves I have used for years (from other brands, admittedly) have held up better in that regard. Though I should state that when I’ve shuffled up specifically Dragon Shield sleeves with the glossy fronts that my friends have used for years, these seem to hold up better than other brands and remain a smooth shuffle. As such I’d say that you’ll definitely be safe with the anti-glare versions as you mentioned, but if you prefer the look of the glossy front ones, these from Dragon Shield may hold up better than others you’ve used before. A lot of info but hope it helps and thanks for watching!
can these clear sleeves be used for regular play and such? like.. do they function the same as colored sleeves? ive never owned a pair and they dont appear to be the flimsy cheap kind you get in a top loader.
Yes these sleeves are the same type as the ones with different color back, but just clear on the back. They even have the same texturing as the other color-back Dragon Shield matte sleeves. You are correct that they are different than the “penny”/soft sleeves that people use with top loaders. Since they are more substantial, they hold up for regular play as you mentioned. Though, I would highly recommend checking with any tournament organizer rules before using clear backed sleeves for competitive play. I’ve also got a video up about Dragon Shield’s sealable inner sleeves, and will soon be putting up a video comparing some of the “penny”/soft and inner sleeves so keep an eye out. Thanks for watching!
The tricky thing is that it really will vary by player/collector preference and situation. My opinion at this moment is that I prefer the Matte Clears. This is what I’m using for the deck I play most right now, and while there is glare due to the glossy front, I think it compliments the card art better (*especially* with foils). I think the Clear Matte Non-Glares probably have a better shuffle feel for my taste, but I prefer the look of the other ones. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
I just bought and compared both of these for double sleeved cards and here's my thoughts... The non glares definitely do have glare, its just diffused and spread out much further. Over the entire card actually, giving them far more glare in a way. They also mute the color/contrast of your cards artwork more. And its much more significant with foil cards. Foil cards almost don't even look foil with non glare. The backs are pretty much identical to me. I'm absolutely going with clear mattes over the non glare. Non glare seems like a failed idea to me.
Thanks for the added insight! Yes, I agree about the glare diffusion on the "non-glare" version. It's a bit funny but the non-"non-glare mattes" (aka: just the "mattes") while having a glossier front, contain the glare to a more limited area. I also feel the same about how it dulls the foils with the "non-glare" as well. I almost get the impression that the names chosen for the models was a bit limited based on having already chosen to use "matte" to refer to the back of the card sleeve rather than the front. So maybe they had to find another way to differentiate the finish on the front and it sorta gets muddled from there (pure speculation of course). Thanks for watching!
Awesome, glad to hear you were happy with both! I’ve been using both as well, though I use more of the ones with the glossy front for just my visual preference. But honestly, I think it all works well. Thanks for watching!
Im so glad this video exists
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for watching!
Stellar review. Thank you so much for doing this and thank you for mentioning the perfect fit sealable sleeves Dragon Shield makes!! 🎵
Much appreciated! Sure thing. I’ve got a video taking a closer look at those sealable sleeves and another looking at their non-sealable ones as well in case those help. Thanks for watching!
thanks man, this is EXACTLY the type of video I have been looking for
Haha I knew there had to be other people that needed the same type of video, thanks for watching!

An amazing dive into the differences of these two products, thank you so much!
Thank you! Happy to hear that you like the comparison. Thanks for watching!
Exactly what I was looking for, thanks for the comparison!
Thanks for watching! I knew I couldn't be the only one looking for something like this. Glad I could help!
Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks mate.

Thank you! Nice to know it's got the chill vibes I was going for!
Thank you so much for this video. i was just looking at both of these and reading it i couldn't tell much of a difference but I'm glad i looked it up

Very useful, I just want to know how good a rare shiny looks in each
That's a great suggestion! Taking note and I'll see what I can do. Thanks for watching!

@@CasualTCGStuff oh.. understood. thanks for replying! :)
I think I prefer clear sleeves, but which is better standard clear sleeves or non glare clear sleeves?
The tricky thing is that it really will vary by player/collector preference and situation.

Also Idk if this is true for all batches, but the clear mattes I got are a slightly more snug fit than the non glares with double sleeved cards.

No foil test? I like my LV3 WiXoss divas to look shiny and powerful
Not all heroes wear capes 🙌
Matte Clear it is then!
I wonder if the anti-glare sleeve looks a little less clearly.
I think it’s going to depend on the lighting and angle. To my eye, it’s more evenly spread out, so that’ll affect clarity I think.
Common and uncommon not
Much of a difference but foil cards will be less clear that they are foil
Would be awesome to see a comparison between clear matte and clear classic 🙂
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll see if I can get my hands on a set and put something together. Thanks for watching!
the million dollar question is, which would look better in a vaultX binder 🤔
Good question! I'll see if I can get my hands on a vaultX binder and check it out (something tel. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so so much
You’re welcome, and thanks for watching!
Thanks heaps may get both
Both Sleeves looked great 👍🏻 4:25
Awesome, glad to hear you were happy with both! I’ve been using both as well, though I use more of the ones with the glossy front for just my visual preference. But honestly, I think it all works well. Thanks for watching!
@@CasualTCGStuff your welcome 🙏
Neat! The descriptions are kind of UNCLEAR just on the box.
Thank you! Yeah other brands like Ultra Pro use “matte” as a descriptor for the sleeve front rather than the back, so I figured it was worth showing.
We have the same mouse mat XD
Haha sounds like you have good taste!
