    Was an amazing Nationals being there. Only thing I think the commitee should have created was a full two laps around the Mountain on one day of every single GT in there category that are drivable cars. Yes you could drive the circuit as we did but to have every car do it at once would have been epic and a massive part of history given you had record numbers of any GT Nationals ever at the Mountain.

    The drone footage definitely shows the unique 70's & later model bright colours.

    Can I just suggest that, when you finish a piece to camera/interview.
    After thanking the interviewee, just hold a look to camera for 3-5 seconds, to have a clean edit point.
    26 years as a TV cameraman taught me a few things.
    Great video & beautiful cars.
    Edit: when you are walking around the cars, before you start recording.
    Zoom into something & check focus.

    Had to chuckle... coupe vs hardtop... they've all got hard tops cos there was no convertible, the point of difference is the 2 doors which makes it a coupe.
    Only in Australia is this an issue... in NZ they are coupes. The rest of the world calls a 2 door a coupe

  • @13smarts1
    @13smarts1 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just a couple of comments, Stillwell Ford started in Kew, Melbourne in the 60's, Stillwell had been a Holden Dealer and was Ford's first big dealer to change camps in Australia, I think it may have been in the 70's when they went to Adelaide, and yes the parts catalogue for XW/XY was very confusing re the 302's, the earlier engines came out of the Windsor engine plant in Canada, it stopped production of these engines in the late 60's and production of these engines was transfered to Cleveland Ohio, changes were made with the most obvious being a different water pump with the bottom radiator going to the left side of the radiator rather than the right side of the earlier Windsor produced engines, thses Cleveland produced 302's were used in Australia from 5/70 in XW/ZC models, and also got some Aus sourced components (carby , alternator and distributor) to help with local content rules, but as was pretty usual in those days it was hit and miss, it would seem if Ford had parts lying around they got put into production to get rid of them, plenty of times I suppliied the wrong points because the car had a different dizzy in it to what the parts book said it should have!
