John Bowe will always be one of my absolute favourite drivers of all time! I had the pleasure of meeting John when he was racing for CAT racing in 2001. I was 13. John was such a legend and nice guy all round.
Bro that's my story. Queensland raceway for me. I was star struck little kid but I followed him back to his trailer and got some merch signed. I was wearing more merch then the promo girls. I got something you'd really like, a door skin from a back door of the cat car with a good tire rub on it that half burnt of the official race sticker. It's a cool item
Me too, but ford cosworth seria was a great time too, I went to sand down in my xc falcon and seen the eb win that day but think it was season who won race , Holden and Ford guy but drive Toyota's now
So happy to see these iconic cars bought back to their full glory. Absolutely beautiful...... And that sound !!! Man, I cranked the volume right up. The neighbors would have heard them too.. I hold the EB Falcon dearly to my heart.
@@SuperRoo_22 Hey Gday mate, how have you been? its been ages since I have heard from ya.. Still got your Falcon? mine is going strong... Hope you are well.. Cheers 🍻
@T.W.I.T. Hope you are going well too. I'm doing ok. Yep, still got the ute. 15 years old this year. Don't want to part with it, cause I know I'll regret it. Do u like Speedway at all? In particular Sprintcars & Speedcars? They had the Sprintcar Classic down in Warrnambool this weekend. Biggest race in Australia. A few of our WA teams went over. And the team that won tonight, Brady Racing is from here, but they hve James McFadden driving for them. A Northern Territorian. I'm a Krikke Motorsport supporter. I also pit crew for a Speedcar team here in Perth. Honestly, i hve to say Sprintcar and Speedcar racing is so much more exciting than Supercars now. Ask Cam Waters why he drives a Sprintcar during summer. He did ok at the Classic.
@@SuperRoo_22 yeah mate I know about that Warrnambool race.. But can't say I really follow sprintcars.. I have been to Avalon speedway a couple of times.. I enjoyed it.. you must love being part of the pit crew, that would be cool... I also couldn't part with my FG although I was looking at a FGX G6E not long ago.. but I think I will stick with my FG.... had it for 12 years now.. it has never missed a beat.. its been good to hear from you.. glad all is well..
@T.W.I.T. Would love to go the Classic one day. If you ever come over here, make sure it's during summer so you can experience the Motorplex. The greatest Speedway complex in the world. I might be biased though! Our home track. We recently had Kyle Larson here during the High Limits International series. He won the final night. Which wasn't suprising. Pocketed a small 100k for the final night! Speedway is mega addictive & I don't even drive. It's hard work, but a lot of fun at the same time. You can't beat a Barra. Mega reliable if you keep up to date with the maintenance. I hve'nt looked at another car. But wouldn't mind a new Ranger. A V6 Sport model or a Raptor. Both are very nice to drive.
love seeing these classic cars never got to see them as I was born 1987 but always been a fan of classic V8 supercars this is why I love the V8 supercars and it's history
our family car until it was parked in 2010 was an eb. I always watched replays of these cars winning Bathurst and read through books just to look at the photos of the EBs. Seeing them alive and well in the modern day is just breathtaking. Cant wait to get mine back on the road soon and maybe one day drive it to see these in person 🙏
This Is unbelievable... These cars need a night hood... This has made the world a better place Fantastic work and the craftsmanship is obviously 2nd to non. Congratulations
Thank you for bringing these beautiful cars back to life for us to enjoy. Even though it’s through the screens of TH-cam, it’s still great to see them alive in 2025!
Brilliant! It was watching these on TV as a 5yo ripping around Bathurst that sparked my love of motor racing and 90's Falcons in general. Incredible story and restoration.
A true Aussie legend. Thank you for preserving these beautiful beasts! Have a top Australia Day mate 🍺 I hope to see the cars on display or on track at the Adelaide Motorsport Festival one day
As a kid i wanted a eb gt ,had a picture of John Bowe in his car laminated on my was .i ended up being a manager for holden, to this day i still have the picture at my parents house in my bedroom, its been there 25 years now
These's sound Awesome a true raw V8 in a ford is so Awesome . Well done to the restorer amd thank you for bringing them back to life you saved history.
These cars were (are) the reason my car is filled with shell fuel and oil, and why I use king springs and bilstein shocks. It may have been 8 years before I could legally drive but growing up watching them I figured if DJ used it then must be good. Still doing it to this day; I’m older, the cars are newer, but they get the same treatment. (I know I don’t get the race bred parts, but they are a noticeably higher standard than others on the market).
Fantastic work!! I can respect and appreciate the hours and attention to detail so we all can get to see these fabulous pieces of Aussie automotive and racing history.
I remember reading a auto magazine about these cars when they first came out, not sure I if it was Wheels but these cars look better than when first made…congrats on this great project
“A nicer looking car than what we ended up with” not a truer word was spoken. I thought it was just me who didn’t like the new series and the way the sport and the cars changed to what it is today.
Beautiful work on those cars, they look amazing and take you back in time. Hopefully we will see them get some runs on track here and there in public so people can see them run.
I'd love to see more of that prototype, it has the same bodykit as the ea 351 gt and indy pace car (asside from different bumper), it's called the sr3900 kit
Very interesting information, but I have checked and it does not really look like the same bodykit. The EB1 car still exists, and was for sale on my105 website about a year ago. But it is totally changed to EF body style.
Remember these days absolutely brilliant 👍. Cams 😂 it's a damn high performance race. We want you to keep the std wheel tubs. Then they penalised the fords aero kit . Made the fords raise their ride heights. Then, overnight, all the holdens were running an updated areo kit , sitting lower. Media were backing them, too .
Great video, restoration, cars, and owner. But you don't explain where the second car came from. Where did he get the other shell? What was its history? What condition was it in? He restored 2 identical cars at the same time. It doesn't really seem to be emphasized at all.
Nice to see some of the old cars fully restored and back to full racing condition. This is when V8 racing was at it's best and not this all American crap we got now.
Fantastic, wish Supercars would bring back this style of race car in Australia then the crap they have today !!!! This era / style is way more relevant then the boring show Supercars put on in the present day.
So if you were in charge of supercars what cars would you be running ? 1993 top selling v8's In australia Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon. 2024 Nissan Patrol and Ram 1500 . So if they were to be relevant in 2025 get rid of camaro and mustang and bring on Patrol vs 1500.
They won’t bring it back so stop complaining you old fool Always has to be one old fart who lives in the last and will constantly whinge about todays product. Please shut up and show some appreciation for once in your life mate. Ppl like you are such whinging idiots 🤦♂️
Australian engineers and trades don't get enough credit in the racing world. we have build some amazing machines in this country. we all should be proud of it but the media and government always paint it in a bad light,
Surely the first Seton car - (which raced in 1992) - was "the first EB Falcon built for Supercars"? DJR built one before these two, which was deemed not to meet the rules.
It was the first win of the new category of only Falcon and Commodore V8s. 92 still had other makes and engine configurations. EB1 was technically the first built for the new category, but didn't race. So EB2 got the first win.
How good is that . Was the true second coming of touring car racing in Australia It's a shame it's morphed into the clown planet circus of so called motorsport presently
When JB says “everything looks and feels the same” .. he’s talking about himself too, right?
Guy hasn’t aged a second ..
yippee
What a nice story. So cool to see and hear these beasts roar back to life. Certainly a golden age in V8 Supercars
Sure was! How good do they look and sound!

It's always moving to see people who are so passionate and dedicated in bringing a piece or racing history back to life.
Two legends, plus two legendary cars
And the sound, gotta say this V8 noise over the current they just sound superb
Supercars need to upload some of these old school races .
Belongs to Channel 7! V8 Supercars only own from 1997 onwards.

Yeah I remember watching the Peter Jackson EB at the 1992 Bathurst 1000. They ran a sierra and falcon that year.
Hence why these are EB2 and EB3.
Funny thing that some of the bits on that first EB djr built ended up making their way on to the touring cars in that era.
It was the first win of the new category of only Falcon and Commodore V8s. 92 still had other makes and engine configurations. EB1 was technically the first built for the new category, but didn't race. So EB2 got the first win.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Is there likely to be a Part 2? No information given on the second car!
Hopefully they’ve got the outer shins the right gauge this time!
eb/ed falcon best shape ford made.
Who was driving 17, That looks like Setons helmet.
The current owner/custodian is driving EB3
Why is the distributor moved forward? to make room for the itb?
those era V8 supercar are C3 headed or C302B headed engine combos?
Anyone know what HP the EB falcon super cars had ?
500-550 from memory.
Engines weren’t as hi tech back then but man they sounded sweet
@mbbarnes80 yeah they did sound sweet....500 at the engine or wheels ?
