My parents were forcing me to drink milk every morning for years before going to school forcefully thinking it was good for me despite me telling them that I get so much pain from it but they wouldn't listen. When I grew older, I stopped drinking milk completely. Absolutely hate it.
I was lactose intolerant but when I did the kito diet cut out wheat completely and two weeks later I started trying lactose and had no symptoms at all it's is incredible but true.
Absolutely amazing - you cover so many different topics and problems and break them down to the T. And also give natural solutions to them. Wish our health providers were “allowed” to to this route. Thanks Dr Berg! You’re a gem.
For me lactose intolerance was simply an allergic reaction to pasteurized milk. I can drink all the raw milk I want with no reaction at all. However when I drink pasteurized milk - even as little as a half cup, I get the gas, bloating & rumbling.
Grandma Liz's Kisses raw milk still has nutrition and enzyme in it to help you breaking down enough lactose so you don't necessarily experience the symptoms. Pasteurized milk lost those key things. Lactose free milk is not really lactose free. Lactoses are not remove from the milk. They are broken down into sugars you can absorb.
So simple and easy to understand. I love drinking milk but I’m always in so much pain when bloated. Thank you for the education, now I know what to look out for.
Doing keto has helped me identify this, finally. Because my stomach is empty more often, I made a cup of cocoa with milk and cream on an empty stomach and had a bad reaction (at least it didn't take me out of ketosis, as I couldn't digest the sugars!). Today I have bought a good probiotic and some lactase (I don't want to waste all that cheese and cream I have stocked up on!). After I have used up my stores, I will go completely dairy free for at least a month. Then I will test things a bit. I'm looking forward to being symptom free, although I suspect it is not the only thing going on with my digestive system.
Thank you for such wonderful information. I finally did the quiz. I stalled for a few weeks but finally down 30lbs. I can't thank you enough. Love the adrenal support formula.
Hi Dr. Berg, I am wondering how butter can be more easily digested with lactose intolerance? Can the lactose be cooked out of milk/cream/butter to the point of changing the glucose and galactose molecules? I apologize for such a specific question, but I feel that lactose intolerance is just a math problem that CAN be solved, and I would like to find the formula. Thank you!
I've just figured out I was lactose intolerant and never knew at all until now. I ate ice cream and experienced bloating, gas, pain, and rumbling. I asked my doctor what it was and she said it's most likely lactose intolerance. So I came here, and that's what it is!
Hi Dr. Berg. You have talked about Fructose and Sucrose and their ill effects. Should I also worry about the lactose sugar in milk if I'm trying to avoid a fatty liver and other ill effects of sugar?
1:36, you need to mention more bout PPI's and how they could factor into damaging your intestinal lining, no acid means that food is going to absolutely destroy you intestines, i also think it throws your enzymes out of wack too. Im really adamant about PPI's because i took them when i didnt need them and exacerbated my stomach issues, now iv been on a 6 year road of trying to get my digestion right.
Before I discovered keto I went gluten free for a month and I happened to go to cold stone and got a milkshake and no issues with lactose. Before I would have milk and almost right away I needed to be quarantined in a bathroom lol. .my conclusion ....gluten caused my lactose intolerance
I have been lactose intolerant since my mid 20's I'm 48 now. Last year I started the low carb diet. After 6 months I was able to consume dairy. I went off the diet and the lactose intolerance came back. I'm back on low carb now and consuming all the dairy I want. I found an article online many years ago linking gluten to lactose intolerance. When on low carb your avoiding gluten anyway this is what has worked for me. I hope this helps anyone suffering.
You say to get tested, but what test? I remember I did a test for lactose for the GP and it came out negative. Now I have a functional practisioner and my Igg's were high for gluten, wheat, casein, corn etc. Lactose was not so high, but still positive. There are controversial opinions about IGg tests. What's your opinion? Thanks in advance
Thanks for the info Doc! I have the symptoms of lactose intolerance but still I think it’s best to get a hydrogen breathe test, for their could be other conditions with similar symptoms.
thank you have been scanning the internet for this info i love milk eggs and cheese but it forms mucus in my throat. but i did not see the type of antibiotic you said you would link below.
That pain and runbling is what I have. I was diagnosed with irritable bowel many years ago but it's been suppressed with Endep but now I think I might try some lactose free milk. After all, maybe the doctor made a mistake. Thanks for your videos, they are very informative. :)
Hello doctor, I recently received my food allergy and intolerance test results from YorkTest here in the UK, and I have an egg, cows milk, peanut and yeast intolerance. I've spoken with a nutritional therapist and have removed the first three from my diet for the time being. I have another telephone consultation booked with her for January, but I was just wondering what you suggest I do next. Many thanks.
When I drink milk I get eye pain, like cluster headaches. When I went off dairy and had almond milk, tofu, this pain went away. Is there any association between eye pain and lactose intolerance or allergy?
Hi dr berg.. i follow a strict low calorie keto diet +15 hr intermittent fasting.but i m able to do it 5 days a week nd break it every other weekend. Please let me know if it is healthy and if there is a better alternative. Thanks
What do you think about food intolerance igg test? ,i now eat keto, i eat organic food, i loose weight very slow ,10 pounds since february, i do not cheat, according to my test ,i am intolerant to cheese and eggs ....now i eat eggs and cheese (organic) i did those test 3 times within 12 years. the results were always the same. i do not have or never had symptoms when i eat eggs or cheese.
Dr. Berg will you please do a video giving your opinion on colon cleansing and mucoid plaque? I'm curious if removing that plaque safely is harmful to other areas of your body in any way, or if it's only helpful to the rest of your system to remove it.
It's amazing some of us get half trough life to find out these intolerances. I like milk but stopped drinking it at young age cos I felt bad after it. Lactose free is now pain\bloat free, and especially gas free.. coffe and milk made me a gas giant
I was soy fed as a baby being lactose intolerant but even 2 slices of cheese makes me have gas, bloating, fatty bowels and diarrhea plus acne. Even lactose free does it. I guess I'm more on the allergic side??
I have no problem with cheese. I have problem with fresh milk. Not sure if it is due to over eating, fresh milk contributes most to my gastrocolic reflex and makes me rush to defecate. Most of the time with pain
Anyone else experience symptoms even after you’ve taken lactase? I took 2 lactaid pills, maybe it’s not enough or something. I doubt the body gets resistant to it.
My dad is either lactose intolerant or is allergic. He told me when he first discovered he couldn’t have milk, he got diarrhea. Is that a sign of a milk allergy or just being lactose intolerance?
Get good probiotic Found lactose free cheese now less than 0.5 sugar mozarrela Got lactose free plain yogurt it's 1 sugar Because of oxalates in coffee i needed to introduce diary lactose free to bind up the oxalates i must say i feel better no head ache anymore after adding cream to my coffee. Black coffee and black cacao powder gave me head aches
I'm not saying this is going to work for anyone else, but when my daughter-in-law started taking B1, D3, and K2, her lactose intolerance completely disappeared. I have no explanation for this, but now she eats cheese like it's going out of style, and she's completely fine.

Another TH-cam doctor says that cheese is ok if u are allergic to milk bc the bacteria used to make cheese changes the protein structure. Is this true?
I just started IF and keto 16:8 tmad and I have increased my dairy a huge amount but not milk. Since doing this my nose is constantly stuffy. Is this an allergy? I don’t get the tummy problems.

I have suffered with lactose intolerance for many years. It's horrible!
