Great video and information. I'm installing the 12.3" Android screen now (NTG4.7). So far so good. Got it all working today. I just need to rerun the wiring and put it back together. Details on removal of glovebox was very helpful as I was struggling to figure out how to run the 2 harnesses up to the display and the USB/Aux cables to the passenger footwell. Thanks!
Zaki, your recording are very clear on each part, im done this b4 at 2018 using this type of screen until now, the bad thing is the Android can't be updated .

But like you said Android can't be updated plus screen hardware getting old made me think I'll need to replace the screen every 5 like years like a phone, but been seeing the android boxes that connect to the android screen, might give them a try in the future if I start seeing issues with my old screen.

I don't like the gps antenna just left behind the screen somehow. It won't get good gps signal if it flips upside down. It has to be glued in a good position, facing upwards and not behind any metal part. I don't like having to dismantle it all again just because gps doesn't work.
True, I did remove the GPS later on and stuck it behind the screen on the dash. Wasn't that hard, took 5 mins. But what I'm not sure about is whether the maps uses the GPS on my phone or the screen's gps when using Android auto, coz if it's using my phone's GPS then the position of gps module doesn't matter.
@@ZakiGarage In Carplay / Android Auto mode, it uses the phone's gps. But if you just use the gps app installed in the tablet the antenna is needed. Thank you for your answer.

Can anyone tell me, what is the problem when I fixed this device into my MB W12 and when it is in, it give a bleeping tone, sounded like a signal tome?
So, I installed it today and have a few questions. Maybe someone has already solved the problem. How can I change the screen resolution from the command? When I go to Radio Media, the picture is shifted. To my other question: Every time I start the radio, it says Android. I want to get rid of that so that it says Mercedes Benz instead. How can I remove it? And do you also have audio problems? I installed everything according to the instructions, and I also get music through AUX, but it is of very poor quality and quiet. Not comparable to Bluetooth.
Great Video. Really appreciate your effort and time. I have two questions. 1. Is the connection to the factory AUX port necessary for all audio outputs or it is just for AUX audio as usual ? 2. The ACC power cable connects from main wiring harness to the LVDS box. So why did you not connect it initially, but within the car ? Is there any other wire to be checked ?
Thx 🙏. 1) Yes, any sound coming out of the andriod screen goes though the factory AUX port. 2) You will need to rout the main harness through tight spaces in the dash, it is a lot harder to rout the harness with the LVDS box attached to it. All the wires needed are shown in the video, I don't think there is anything else to be checked.
One of the first instructions was to make sure you get the correct screen for your car. I have a 2012 MB-E350 Sedan base. How do I figure out the correct size screen for this car?
Hello friends, I have one, multimediaI, only now dedicated myself to installing it. everything works perfect, however the screen and resolution to view the car's original system is very large, the camera and other functions are included. However, the input resolution is not matching the new screen. how to fix this? Could you give some guidance? Thank you very much in advance
The UI on the Apps page looks weird. I saw a more beautiful UI from the other store. Is it just a theme settings? Can you change theme? What’s the sound quality of AUX connection?
Yeah putting the head unit back was hard. Pulling the part of the harness that goes to the screen 8:15 all the way out from the glove box side helps. The second issue would be the connecter in 8:05, there is a small opening in the lower left back side of the head unit, you'll have to push the cable down there while trying to put the head unit back in.
My 2010 W212 does not have that media interface in the glove box where the 1/8" stereo connector is connected at 9:25 in the video. What do you do when this connector is unavailable?
Doesn't you car have an AUX plug somewhere else like in the center console? The Android system needs an AUX input plug on the car to send sound to the car's factory headunit. Otherwise I'll search online how to install an AUX input to the car before getting the android system.
@@ZakiGarage It does not. Mine is an early-2010 model manufactured in 2009. There is a molded rectangular cutout in the glove box for the multi-media interface (MMI) that is not punched out. The 2011 and later models put the MMI in the center console.

I don't do a lot of phone calls on the android system but never had your issue. I did have an issue once that the mic wasn't getting my voice but other than that one time it worked fine. No idea why you'll be getting that issue 🤔
Hi. is there any installation manual describing each part for installation, I have ordered and received my android 10.25 with many parts and cables it is confusing a lot
Unfortunately this android screen didn't come with a manual, it was confusing to me too in the beginning. Look up "w212 android screen wiring 4.0" and you'll find many wiring descriptions.
For the factory menu I also didn't get it initially, It was from the LVDS port 0:50 coz I didn't connect the red v12 wire to the ACC AUX-out in 2:15. Would re check all the LVDS connections and the optical plug 7:31. This is assuming you have a NTG 4.0 sys, I think the LVDS port is only on the 4.0. The bad sound I would check plugging in a different sound source into the AUX input to see is the issue coming from the screen output or is it after the AUX port, Also would try a different AUX cable if the current one is low quality. But I've also heard some MB cars don't have an amplifier, so when connecting the android screen it sounds terrible, something to look into.
@@ZakiGarage Hello Zaki, thank you for the reply. I got the screen working, was my mistake not probably plugging the screen cable. The way this screen works is that it sends sound to the factory head unit through the AUX. You can easily switch between the factory system and the android screen system. So if you want to use radio you go to the factory system and turn it on. If you want to use the android screen you have to put the factory system on AUX mode and then use the android system.

Had the same issue for a few days too, here are some stuff to make sure of: 1) Factory system is on AUX mode 2:30. 2) The screen AUX output 2:01 is connected to the car's factory AUX input 2:12. 3) The LVDS ACC 12V wire 2:19 is connected to power ( I used AUX-OUT wire 2:15)

@@220Films The android screen sends the sound to factory MB headunit through the AUX, so the old factory MB system has to be on AUX input mode not radio and the AUX wire coming out of the android screen connected to the car's factory AUX input.
Highly recommend, should have done it sooner. Have destroyed many charging cables and one phone since I got the wired android auto, so would get the wireless android auto if to do it again. Android auto app on the screen crashes about once a month, requires a screen reboot every time, a bit annoying.
Don't know. I believe the android unit would use its own GPS 1:23 when used alone. If using android auto then would use the connected phone GPS. And if using factory sys 12:44 would use car factory GPS.
For the wifi press the 4 squares button to access the apps list, there should be "Local setting" & "Settings", chose "Settings" and you'll find the wifi and networking settings there where you can connect to any wifi source like a phone. I got a similar issue with the google maps not knowing where I am sometimes, in the video I showed that I threw the GPS and wifi module inside the dash, try taking the GPS out on top of the dash with a clear view to the sky.
Thx, my car has the factory camera, it still shows up on the android screen whenever I put the car in reverse. But have to go into the android screen settings when first installing it to specify if the car has factory backup camera or aftermarket.

3) The LVDS ACC 12V wire 2:19 is connected to power ( I used AUX-OUT wire 2:15)
@@ZakiGarage I got that figured out now! Thanks!! One other thing, what SIM card data service did you use to have internet on it? Verizon told me it doesn’t work with their service.
@@220Films I don't live in the US so I don't have a US phone carrier, but I use a portable hotspot device that connects to the screen through wifi.
@@ZakiGarage ahh ok well I got it all working kind of well. Seems to me there are a lot of bugs on these things. Now my girlfriend switched it to radio. And I cannot get the screen sound to come back at all. No reason why and I’ve tried everything. Any ideas.????
@@220Films The android screen sends the sound to factory MB headunit through the AUX, so the old factory MB system has to be on AUX input mode not radio and the AUX wire coming out of the android screen connected to the car's factory AUX input.
luck information, Mercedes has NTG 5.2, 5.5 too
Funktioniert die original Rückfahrkamera denn noch
it works with both the factory camera or even an aftermarket one.
Hi, I installed this exact unit in my 2012 E350
And the scroll wheel/knob doesn’t work with it. Do you know a fix? Thanks!
Sorry I haven't encountered this issue, all the steering wheel controls and scroll wheel worked when I plugged everything in.
Hello I have done this already and want to add a subwoofer. Any idea ?
Can see and rsa cables
Sorry don't know, maybe you can ask the seller.
Hey Zaki! Do you recommend a 12in or is that too big
I've never seen it in person but it's something I would like to try installing on my car someday
@@ZakiGarage , Thanks for following up. Great video by the way. The angles help ALOT. You should talk a little during install though 😛
So is the android auto wireless or does it only work with usb cable?
You'll have to check with sellers, mine was wired
Hi. May I ask. Before installation, we need to adjust the sound to boost. Thanks
Can do it before or after instillation, since you can still access the factory head unit interface in the new android screen.
What model is this 10.25 screen ? Brand?
There is a link to the same screen I used in the description
Hi, is it possible to use round joystick with that Tab?
all factory car controls still work with the new screen.
Have you seen the instrument cluster on the newer e350 that has the 2 lcd screens? Wondering if they have this avail to upgrade 2014 eE50
Sorry, I haven't seen the newer models. I'm not familiar with them
How is this system been after 2 years?
Highly recommend, should have done it sooner.
Have destroyed many charging cables and one phone since I got the wired android auto, so would get the wireless android auto if to do it again.
Android auto app on the screen crashes about once a month, requires a screen reboot every time, a bit annoying.
Is it possible to attach fctory gps antena
To ndroid?
Don't know. I believe the android unit would use its own GPS 1:23 when used alone. If using android auto then would use the connected phone GPS. And if using factory sys 12:44 would use car factory GPS.
Do you have a fix for me getting my iPhone to hotspot to the unit and also why the Google maps on the unit won’t pick up my location/?/ Thanks a bunch
I wonder e200 installing them possible since 2010model
Depends on which radio version you have. Most sellers would show you how to identify which radio version you have and which android unit to buy.
Thk you so much
Does this support CarPlay as well?
I haven't tried CarPlay but on the seller's page it says it has CarPlay
Yes CarPlay is in the latest versions supported. Older versions Ned an adaptor.
Please for the link to buy CarPlay edition 🙏
does this have apple carplay too or no?
Yes, but you have to make sure it has on the unit you're ordering.
@@ZakiGarage thanks brother
how would you rate the head unit you put in for quality?
It's not MB factory quality but good enough for aftermarket. Highly recommend upgrade tho.
I do not have these 2 cable in my radio.. watch 7.30 to 7.40 PLZ..
sorry I'm not familiar with models without the optical fiber cables
Where is your location in ksa ???
Hi mate - do you provide this service?
Hi mate. No, just making vids working my cars on weekends.
Hi, the Navi work without Internet ?
Its google maps, I assume you can use google maps without the internet if you download the map area before.
@@ZakiGarage thank you
If my head unit no work i can install this unit or need the head unit for the volume ?
You need the factory head unit for the android screen to work
Hey so if I have a factory backup camera, were does it transfer on the android screen? Thanks for the great job
Thx, my car has the factory camera, it still shows up on the android screen whenever I put the car in reverse. But have to go into the android screen settings when first installing it to specify if the car has factory backup camera or aftermarket.
@@ZakiGarage okay thanks point noted.
Wow you are a genius
Would this be the same process with the 12.3 screen?
I have not seen the bigger screen but I would assume yes. better to check with the seller.
The system you shoed here, will that work in USA..? Thanks
You can confirm with the seller if the system is suitable for your car model.
damn.
it took me 3 weeks to find out, that I do need a MEDIA INTERFACE CONSUMER CABLE to have the possibility to connect a usb flash to the PORT in the glove. MB sellin it for 60€.
found it second hand on ebay for 10€.
now I can play my music.
my command system just connectin phone calls via BT. but no audio files.
when I see this, I know, this would take me half a year to install.
thank you for your efforts though!
I have an s212 (w212 t-model) with 4.0 ngt I think.
prices start at 220€ for an adroid system and they go up to 400€...
Salut la team c'est possible d'avoir une réponse sur quel site on peut l'acheter pour un Mercedes w212 Classe E site fiable
Does it work well in Winter? Mine doesnt power on when temperature around 0°C
Had no issues with mine so far, but weather doesn't get below 10c here.
Does it work for iPhone’s ?
If you mean apple car play then you need to make sure the unit you buy has that feature.
Are there RCA outputs for running an aftermarket subwoofer(s) and an amp?
I haven't looked into aftermarket subwoofer and amp but I don't think they connect with this wiring harness since the new screen sends sound to the factory system through the AUX port.
@@ZakiGarage I'm having an issue getting sound out of the system right now. Which AUX do I hook together? This car is a 2013 and I don't see an AUX in the glove box
@@MikeB1972 you mean the car doesn't have an AUX input port anywhere? some have it in the middle console
I am having similar problem .
I found aux location in car . But factory radio didn't support aux. My system isn't sending audio . Any other way around it ..
@@expressdiy6956 I believe there is a way to activate the AUX on the factory radio through a hidden menu, I would start with looking that up.
Good job bro. ill this screen fit onto E class 2011 coupe C207 too? ty 4 vid
Thx, usually the screen sellers could tell you if it would fit other MB models.
Bonjour excusez moi est ce que vous pouvez me dire l'écran que vous avez installées combien de pouces et vous l'avez commandé sur quel site
10.25" screen, the one I bought linked in the description
no back up camera ?
The car already has a factory backup camera and it works with the new Android screen.
