- How to install android screen with CarPlay and lots of other futures for Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 2009 - 2016 models. The best with this android / CarPlay system is that you keep the original look with the new 7 inch touch screen.
This video shows all steps in detail you need to know for the installation. Don’t worry about the cables is not hard to route them. If you done similars installs before I would say is around 2-3 hours work, and for a beginner estimate around 6 hours.
You could use this system for a lot of things such as rear camera install, CarPlay, watching movies, TH-cam, mirror link phone etc.

Why even bother with this one when you can have one that has a screen twice the size
exactly, plus touchscreen is so overrated and annoying to use when the w212 literally has a navigator that's easier to access
I fitted a 10.25" screen android system in my e class. Absolutely garbage. Couldn't get it to stop vibrating when the road was less than smooth.
Tried two different systems and both the same. Garbage. The software was also lacking. Z link is used in all of these systems and it's not reliable.
Gave up, both systems are sat in my garage. Won't even sell them, not fair to pass on this shite to someone else.

Hi, are you able to retain both touch screen function and the original mb toggle knob to move around screens?
this thing keeps disconnecting randomly and it fails at times to reconnect

Is this for the Harman Kardon version of the NKG 5 system? I don't think the amp you have is compatible with the fiber optic one that comes with that system. I hate having to go to the comand interface to switch sources, like from radio to Spotify.

Cool! Ive got a 10 inch-screen in my w212, same software as yours! Looks like the 2016-C-class screen, little bigger. Fits very well, looks like genuine mercedes (exept the software), love it! The original screen opening is perfect closed.

Do you have to keep the original NTG system, I have no interest in it and would love to install the android unit and make have a double din storage unit in place, but I think that isn't possible?

Strange how the screen looks bigger without that surround cover at the beginning lol. Does it affect the quality of sound coming through the speakers? My dad changed his W203 original radio to a android one and the speakers suddenly don't sound as good. Also, the screen doesn't get dim enough at night.

I have w212 2014 year, how to know/find out what NTG I have?
Have you ever considered doing a halogen to xenon conversion on this car? I have halogen on mine as well and I'm thinking about converting it to xenon, would be lovely to see it done before though! By converting I mean changing the entire headlight unit, not just ballasts/bulbs.
I'm thinking of doing in in my 203, but dealing with the headlight levelers will be a pain
Can only imagine how complicated it'd be in a 212
I don’t feel I have the knowledge to make it good and also I prefer led to be honest. If I do conversion it would be to ILS led headlights they are really good!
Doing a swap like that would require new wiring looms for the car and an electrical power upgrade such as resistor abd fuse/relay.
Does this replacement work with the aps 50 unit?
Why can’t anyone just make an aftermarket screen that displays oem head unit and then just have Apple CarPlay on it built in.

This is quite literally that. You keep your original headunit, and have the Android side supporting carplay and android auto....
Not the first system of that type featured here. His older E220 pre-facelift had a carplay box installed

@@Yass81 the power supply for the screen is probably not enough to handle a full blown standalone system, won't output to the audio....I think this is about as simple as it gets. Also the installation is straightforward with videos like this!
Mercedes are much easier to work on than people believe. I have a w203 and went from being a total noob to swapping major bits of the interior!

what a great content...please do something about the camera...a Gopro on your head or whatever...you even list clip part numbers which gives more professionalism to your content don t counter it with the hand shooting!

I have try with GoPro and other solutions. But I don’t like the end result. So best for me is rocking this normal camera and sometimes use the tripod so I can use both hands.

Quality on the android system is much better then original and is really visible when watching movies. But when you use the original menu quality is bit lower but not much.

@@Weaple01 also don’t understand how they don’t offer the hood ornament in NA anymore, you can only get it in Germany or Europe I believe. I’ve always preferred the hood ornaments over the sporty grills

what's the point? :) for the same money I have 12.3 inch & also touch & most importantly - I don't have to rase myself from the seat to touch this tiny and much further away screen :) and I have here we go nav, that gives me live traffic anywhere in Europe without paying annual subscr. to Merc and without paying nearly 400 bucks for every map update... :)
Is all about personal taste I guess : ) I prefer the original to be honest but I like try these system out and this one was really nice.

Yess you put in settings which camera you want to use like the original 360 and it shift to it like the original system.

For me these installs take around 2 hours but is all depend on personal skills. First time install I would say estimate around 6 hours. Yess remove battery terminal I forgot to tell it.

How is the sound qualitiy? I believe it is not via the AUX port like most after market systems? Which ruins the sound quality.

Sound quality is excellent! I use the original Bluetooth connection so that’s works good.

Tak for video. Når jeg intstallere denne her ny skærm kan jeg kun bruge den med touch hver gang eller kan jeg stadig betjene den også med command hjul joystick som bilen er standard født med?
Du kan använda touchen eller det vanliga knapparna som med original skärmen 👍
