Glycine is great for acne prone skin aswell! This amino acid changed my life! Harsh skin acne prone skin, bad sleep(not deep at all waking up often after each 3 hours, and not falling asleep afterwards etc) Glycine is a must have supplement!
If you want some advice on Vitamins and nutrition from someone who leaves no stone unturned in his thorough research Chris is your guy. Question: can you get Glycine from bone broth?
Relatively expensive way to get it, but yes. As well, different bone broths will contain different amounts of glycine per same size serving, making it harder to dose correctly.
How would the amino acid glycine compare with trimethylglycine for efficacy in humans? I know on your recent glycine talk you mentioned that glycine di and tri peptides are more effective, so how about trimethyl group? Regards
@Chris Hadley it starts by taking a small amount of ketamine before going to bed, i also recommend a speaker that plays meditation tones softly, it just works.
this video is interesting because im a person who can sleep well anytime and magnesium glycinate caused me the worst insomnia in my life. The internet is full of these kinds of videos and articles but they are meaningless because different people react differently to different supplements.
Me too!Just tried it for the first time.Thought I would have better sleep but it was the worst.I kept waking up during the night😬not sure if I should try it again
The reason I searched this video is because I tried Glycine for two days and it was amazing. So, I was like: what? Glycine? Are you kidding me? But, yeah... I am not sure what to think after all I tried... Some times the answer is right were you are looking at. Cause I had this bottle of glycine for 6 month already and never tried. Cause I thought that this is just Glycine. Wow... And L-tyrosine is amazing too. I am not sure how to describe it. ))) But it's the best. Let's just call it silk...
So im done with glycine. EVERY time i do some glycine OR collagen i get wierd symptoms. It has not become very obvious until now but i can not touch any glycine. What to do about defective glycine metabolism? I suppose that i need glycine but really cant metabolize it? Is that a defect in the cleavage system? What could be the reason.
@@saintjabroni I get memory problems and cognitive problems. Like gaps in my thought processes. Blanking out. It does not happen with food (combined with the amino acid profile of, say an egg)
I have tried taking pure glycine before bed and it has the exact opposite effect on me. It makes me feel 'wired' ALL NIGHT. When I take it I only sleep a few hours, my mind races and I even feel the 'wired' sensation throughout my whole body. Anyone else get this? Any explanation for this?
Happened to me too, but worked other times. I can only guess, that it's caused by overdosing and too much serotonin is produced (a correct dose is probably dependent on what you ate during the day). B6 should help to convert it to melatonin, but probably the end result will be wild dreams (read comment below by putterbuddy). But never tried that on myself.
I purchased Glycine to help me sleep..since I read it can help you sleep sounder and deeper with a dosage of 3 grams at bedtime. However..instead of helping me sleep I just stay awake in bed much longer than usual..and when I do fall asleep my sleep quality is very bad and I wake up often. I will try taking it in the morning to receive it's other benefits..but it's a shame it didn't help me sleep as I only purchased it for that reason. I will add I normally take 60mg of time released Melatonin and 1000mg of Tryptophan..which I took with the Glycine. I am now back to only taking the Melatonin and Tryptophan.
@@DairangerSentai7 Thank you. The only thing that consistently helped me sleep was 50mg of Diphenhydramine taken along with my Melatonin and Tryptophan. But after doing this a few months I started noticing bad side effects from the Diphenhydramine such as blurred vision..so I stopped taking it a few weeks ago and am still searching for a replacement. Hope your sleep is going well.
@@Nightbird. ironically my sleep has gotten better when I turn my phone completely off. I haven't taken any amino acids recently for aid like I used to. Yes, same!! Interestingly only when I changed brands from 'Now' to 'Thorne'. But I also don't think that 'Now' was as effective in helping me sleep either. ??
I imagine most of the benefit of taking a quality magnesium glycinate supplement for those already eating plenty of fruits, tubers, roots, and bulbs comes from the glycine since a 2 gram tablet contains only 100-200 mg magnesium.
Shes the one who claims collagen caan be contaminated. And while i agree that makes no sense i assume there could be a reason as shes dived deep into this topic.
Dr. Masterjohn, I want to give my formula-fed 7-month-old glycine to help his sleep. He is currently very sleep-deprived, hyperactive and has a cold. In his European formula there is tryptophan. The three methyl groups will rev you up, not calm you down. TMG is nothing like glycine, just as H2O is nothing like elemental oxygen.
Do you mind sharing some of your sources (ie research articles)?

What about the Glycinate in magnesium bisglycinate? I'm assuming it's way too low since most doses are only 200mg per pill
I've thought the same thing
Magnesium glycinate has multiple times more glycine than magnesium in milligrams, so it is pretty good.
