Good comment on this DLC. I 100% agree with your last statement, having commented upon it a number of times in YT comments and Steam: for some bizarre and utterly disappointing reason, SE5 feels much emptier than SE4 and even SE3. This is the #1 factor that makes it feel so easy. With +50% to 2x more Germans (depending on the map), it would be so much more enjoyable. This doesn't even require introducing an Authentic Plus mode, which honestly doesn't bring much more to the table. More targets to shoot at - and a tweaked AI to make the utterly passive enemies much more bold and responsive to alarms - are all this game needs to offer a more challenging yet not "unfair" experience. The other main reason that was annoying me was how linear and closed the release maps were. Apart from a couple missions (namely Spy Academy and Secret Weapons), there were so to speak no sniping missions in a game called SNIPER ELITE, which was frustrating at best. It seems like Rebellion is finally learning its lesson, with Landing Force and Conqueror being much more sniper-friendly, although the latter still suffers from being too small and artificially restricting promising firing angles (the castle tower would have been an amazing sniping spot if they didn't restrict firing angles to 3 ultra-narrow sectors...) As a whole, the game's slowly improving, but there's still quite a long way to go in terms of content, weaponry choice and open, sniper-focused maps to make it great. As much as I enjoyed my experience with SE5 so far, I'm still retaining SE4 as the best episode in the series.
I completely agree, there's not enough enemies, so what I did was let them raise the alarm so more come. I prefer the standard skin on my weapons, I hate the Oak and detest the pea dot, the camo skin looks too bright. I did get a Kill Cam when using the new shot gun... over-all, I like it a lot.
I do this all the time especially when I can get a Thompson or MG42 and just run around at alarms and fire off bursts then step back and hunt. Great. Want more ppl make it happen.
I really liked this mission and think it might be the best in the game, the enemy placement and layout felt a lot like a sniper elite 4 mission and reminded me a lot of the kill rothbauer mission. Just got a 274 meter match slug shotgun kill on war factory 4th map on the catwalk ajacent to the 3 soldiers on right side of map original starting location where 1 walls across bridge to and fro and 2 stand by fire and ammo crate talking side by side. I'm going to try a 300 next. Gotta aim high about half front sight post down at top or a lil over head.
I would think a trench shotgun would have been more realistic, and 225 Meters is more within a shotgun's range than in SE4's. Still, a pretty devastating weapon.
Not sure when Rebellion fixed the long range capability of the slug equipped shotguns but i nailed a 412m shot on Spy Academy with the Sjögren Inertia. Target was the sniper on the far left from the original starting location. So there's at least some fun to be had if long range shotgun shenanigans are your cup of tea. And yes... the drilling also works for the long range shenanigans.

I watched your review here last week while patiently waiting for it to download on my Xbox, and I thank you. But, now that I've played the mission all the way through, I just wanted to comment on something you said... You're right that the map is oddly desolate of enemies, but I think the reward here is once you've played thru and opened the other starting points, it's a REAL FUN challenge to start at the Woodlands location (found by climbing vines on the northeast wall of the map - almost directly east of where the tank task marker is on the map - for anyone who hasn't already found it) By starting here, it's a fun challenge to try n sneak up the tower as quietly as possible, because from up there, you can snipe damn near half the enemies, and then, move to the walls of the center ruins to reach practically the rest of the map, including an overlook of the whole trench field. That made up for the desolate town for me! Thank you for your videos, and much love from (me at least! In) the states. *edit note - I made it to the tower, killed Hoffmann by pulling him thru the window, but it appears that many of the NPCs don't spawn yet since I haven't been to that part of the map yet. Not sure. But 2 of the 3 snipers are easily targeted*

I've downloaded all the new DLC half a dozen times and restarted my system too. I've got the shotgun and mission, but no welrod skin or airborne outfit. Where are those???
Not so my friend. Spend some time at range figuring out the distances and use the rifled slug or armor slug. I got a 249 meter sniper kill and a soldier kill at 248. It's hard but can be done. I'm gonna try to find a easy spot to get some distance and try 250 plus.
Im always thrilled when a new map is thrown, but also, disappointed because is never big enough... I finished them, along their side quests in less then 3 hours, finding 90%of the perks and miscellaneous... I still remember in SE3 the Kasserine Pass and how amazing it was... I dont know why but SE 5 was missing something... Not sure what... SE4 was awesome of course, i still return almost every month to play the Target F of SE4 and Save Churchill in SE3. I played SE5 2 times by now, only, but some missions i played them 4 5 times by now, Spy School being one of them, my favorite... Landing Force was awesome, i haven't got this one yet, im currently in the middle of God of War and i really want to start playing tonight Callisto Protocol, so im saving the best for last... I'll play it sometime after Callisto P, hopefully the anticipation will make it even better PS-09:10...you said it brother.. Or go all out and do a CS gas and try with snot coming from nose, eyes and hard to breathe. If a real man do all 3 at same time while playing. Lmfao I'd pay to see that.
The range of a weapon is not the max. Range. Its the optimal range. So for example with a Kar98 and 400m range you can still hit enemies up to i think 550m. The Mainproblem is the the zoom. You must correct the aim so high, that you can not see the target anymore. The bullet loses so much speed, that over the range you must aim much, much higher and the penetration decreases too. But if you go to the shooting range with unlimited scope zoom you can hit with a kar98 easily a target on my range. I think this is 1200m. But if you try this with normal zoom of max. 300m from the kar98 you can only hit the target 520m away. And this blind. Currently i think the new free DLC-Weapon the Lee Enfield is OP. Kompared to the Kar98 it has double ammo per mag, 1/3 more range (the Lee Enfield was a close combat sniper, but has in this game more range than the kar98, the most range sniper in ww2 i know). With mods nearly as high damage as the kar98 basic version. And a much better accuraty and stability than the Kar98 and is quieter. So in my opinion the Lee enfield combines the strength of all snipers in the game in one weapon and has compared to them no weaknesses. It makes them all useless. For me the shotgun is not interessting. I am playing deadly and stealth. So my mainweapon are the knife, rifle and sometimes the pistol. I am killing all i can from save distance and stealth. And then i go in range combat. I played SE4 with only rifle. I play always with killing all enemies on the map. And i used never in SE3, SE4, Zombie Army-versions or SE5 till end of mission 3 (my current state) no secondary weapon.
Can somebody help me It won’t let me purchase the DLC pack with shotgun now is telling me I already owned it, but every time I go to my loadout, it’s not even in my inventory wtf 🤬
There is not much reason to replay this game as there are no leaderboards. Also i maxed out at level 40 on the first playthrough. They obviously aren't adding leaderboards at this point, but there's no reason they couldn't add a very high level cap like the previous game.
Looking forward to playing the new DLC's but I can't. I on the X Box One, when I select Conqueror or Landing Force it says I own them but I can't bring them up. Any thoughts? Thanks
There could've been alot more enemies in game. Especially this mission. And to tell u I got a kill in Spy academy on the left backside of Castle/Church towards the end of mission where the 3 snipers are. I was at the back of castle where the generator and 2 sirens are and got 249 meter shot with the armor shotgun slug. It is possible. I put front blade at top of head and got a body shot. I saved it. I did it 2 times. I have the video I can record and show, post on my channel even though I really have no channel but a account. Let me know.
Given we were attacking the 5th panzer division, I noticed a very distinct lack of tanks to destroy. Only two were destructible, and one of those two wasn't even functional. They definitely should have put a tank in the town, not the 222. Yes the 222 is annoying, but with a mine and a satchel charge you can destroy it quickly and quite silently. At least with a tank you'd have to risk engaging with armor piercing rounds to kill it.
@BrutalBarracuda great videos on your channel! Can you, or someone else here, please explain me why I keep seeing phones in this game saying something like “use for invasion only”, but I cannot use them(?!?). How can I use them and what happens?!?
@@pieterbalk-ht7kq You can only use the invasion phones when another player invades your game. When you use it, it will reveal the invaders current location.
That Oak Leaf is puke on a gun omg. Like jesus just make nickel plated engraved skins. And wow they screwed up the drilling and didnt make the 3rd shot an 8mm round.
Yup, Conqueror is extremely under-populated, and far, far too easy. I agree that SE5 suffers from these issues in general, and I don't get why they couldn't up the ante by making the reinforcements summoned by the alarm a genuine challenge... I wanna see 3 or 4 trucks show up, filled with Nazis, and especially spotters, who posed such a threat in SE4, and stopped the player from getting comfortable in one position. I think SE5 is the victim of two main problems, which may or may not be related. (1) The emphasis on 'realism' in the level design has somewhat lessened the fun factor. Plus, the level design doesn't typically reward the player for looking for elevated sniping positions. In most cases, by the time you reach one, you'll already have killed everyone along the way, by necessity. Why can't levels end with the player reaching the highest point and then having to hold back a final counter-assault? It would make the taking of elevated positions seem worth it, and allow missions to end on a high - with long-range sniping. (2) The game feels like it was rushed. The amount of times I've tried jumping a wall and couldn't - FOR NO REASON - indicates a lack of play-testing IMO. That, plus the obviously removed features (VIP flags, footprints, stowing away in trucks) suggests a product that wasn't delivered in the intended condition. I fell through the map on my first playthrough of Conqueror ffs. SE5 does some things right. Looks nice, sounds great. The cover mechanics are great, generally intuitive, and the weapons handling is good. Sniping is faaaar too easy however. Where SE3 and SE4 laid it on a bit thick with the wind, SE5 has gone too far in the other direction, where sniping anything up to 300m is now generally a piece of piss. The lack of a lean option also seems bizarre, when secondary weapons are now offered in first-person view. And the lack of a compass, especially in co-op survival, just seem careless. I think it should be obvious that, were the AI up to scratch, many of these other issues would be less important. But while the AI does flank, and occasionally do smart stuff like shoot through wooden floors, enemies are also liable to turn into headless chickens at close quarters, where they can get totally confused. Worst of all, you can funnel them into death-trap staircases and hallways, and they will just keep charging up them one at a time, joining a pile of corpses. Regarding the story, I couldn't care less about Karl etc, and I would much rather have played a Vassily Zaitsev type Soviet sniper in Stalingrad, or maybe a US sniper in the Pacific. Such a change would have freshened up the series somewhat. But great gameplay is what makes for replay-ability, and for me, having played every game since SE1, SE5 is just too easy. PS I don't play Invasion, because I'm not into going up against players who can magically see through walls when I don't use that bullshit... Also all those videos by invading Jagers who thought they were awesome for joining a 125+ AI army and OWNING! a lone player got old very quick...
That’s a great review. And pretty much spot on, I think you’ve nailed most of the issues. I’m putting it down to the pandemic - SE5 is a product of lockdown, where everyone working from home sounded like a good idea at the time, but actually wasn’t.
What I would say is give Axis Invasion another go. I really enjoy it and its brought a whole new element to the series that has honestly saved SE5 from permanent deletion for me. The cheating is far less now - I can play a long session say 3-4 hrs+ and not come across a cheater now, though there are still a few out there (I had a see through walls guy last night). TBH the really intense battles with a player with similar intent (i.e. win at all costs, without cheating) makes all the hassle worthwhile. I regularly have epic, seriously intense games with skilled players that deliver an unrivalled feeling of achievement when victorious and soul destroying humiliation when beaten. Well worth it!
Still no Mosin Nagant wtf Rebellion? I mean its been in every game. I love this series and this game but it was way too easy this time around. Wish there were more AI in all the maps. All the levels were great except the kill Hitler mission was easily the worst of the series and I love killing Hitler so. Not only that but that map should of been crawling with 3 times the amount of guys being such a high value target on his home turf. Still love the game though.
I was keen on waiting for all content before deciding on getting the season pass, and I’m not super impressed. In my eyes, they’ve released a small amount of neat additions for the prices of full dlc. Doesn’t seem worth it. I can’t quite argue against the maps since I haven’t played them, but everything else is just so meh.
was disappointed throughout SE 5 that player is often tasked with destroying AA guns, but they never fire at the sky. They just stand there while allied planes are flying overhead. Would be more interesting to use the AA noise as soundmasks, destroy the guns from afar by shooting the shell storages etc. And they'd be interesting enemies. Get caught in the open with one of those 2cm four barrel beasts lined up at you and it's good night lieutenant. Taking them out should be a real challenge. Also, I hope that in the eventual sequel we'd be able to disable enemy weapons by shooting them. Put a hole on a machine gun and silence it. Hit a rifle and see it blow into pieces, injuring its user. I also hope the next game will be set in in the fifties or sixties Cold War era. Older Karl Fairburne sent to South America to eliminate Nazi escapees planning some nasty coup or revenge. Or maybe he travels to West Germany to take out hidden nazis who have succesfully feigned remorse and have built their own networks to fund a terror campaign against the new democratic government or to causie a conflict between East and West leadinf into a Hot War. Karl of course prevents this by wreaking havoc on these cabinet nazis.
Idk, a shotgun kill at 200 and sum ol meters distance, that kind of seems silly. Not like it's not possible, but practical? Idk, just seems like something you probably shouldn't get hung up on, sorry if a previous version of the franchise wasn't realistic and you thought that it was?
Nah, I'm not hung up on it. It was just fun in SE4 trying to get insane longshots with it. Also the SE4 version is more realistic than the SE5 version. The SE5 version has 3 shotgun barrells. It should have 2 shotgun barrells and a rifle barrell like in SE4.
SE5 has overall been a huge let down man. Shots just hitting a realm tear and disappearing is crazy. Most definitely had some buyers remorse with this game 🤣
So both camps are not authentic as they were never used on guns. Rebellion sucks. Why not try shooting an explosive gas can or vehicle with the drilling.
Correction: All DLC weapons can be used by the invader. But as far as base game weapons go, the invader can only use the axis weapons.

Yeah, I play a lot of Invasion and many enemies definitely don't spawn until you get a little closer. Which is a shame for a sniping game.
@@BrutalBarracuda I took this video shortly after I posted that comment and forgot I wanted to share with ya, about a glitch I found on that mission. It's a TH-cam unlisted vid, so you and whoever else follows the link SHOULD be able to see. Let me know

@@shadowdanial3549 That is very weird. Does that happen every time or was it a freak occurance?
@@BrutalBarracuda Donno. Haven't had a chance to try again since (holidays and life got in the way) but I get a feeling, if you set off the alarms, then it'd happen. The AI soldiers will rush in from that area, but then become undisturbed ghosts after that...I think!
I concur. And that shot on se4 was 377 and u got 480 score. I've made long shots and it was less than that as a score.
6:08 Why does the slug turns into a single pellet?...
A slug is a single projectile. Buckshot is multiple pellets.
@@BrutalBarracuda I mean, look at the slug round after piercing the sniper it just turn into a pellet.
7:22 "Playing on an easier setting will obviously take you a lot less time".
Sir, you clearly underestimate how shit I am at the game and how overly cautious I get on new maps. lol
... which is fine. There are a lot of games that I play at the easiest level, or else I don't have any fun with them.
Love sniper elite and your channel. You got a sub.
I like the map, but there is *something* missing in the DLC, not sure what.
Talking of missing, has anyone any idea where the the “south side bunker safe” is located? I think it might be a mistake that was to be included in the previous DLC?
I liked the gold skins in SE 4 too 😋
The new Welrodskin was pretty cool tho 👌🏻
Dont use that gun much anymore tho 🤔
Liked the new karl Character skin ..
Just wish we could have more unique character custo with more colors on headgear n scarfs n so on ..
with the tank top skins i would like some tattoeing 🫣
Great Video n good job ❣️
2MissDixon - More colours? Scarfs? Tank tops? Well let 's not forget the tight black hot pants. He's on a sniping mission...not on the way to the LGBQT Mardi Gras!
Can u do a collectibles guide also when is season 2
I have the season pass and didn't receive either of the guns skin or weapon skins why would I expect anything less.
News about season pass 2?
I've downloaded all the new DLC half a dozen times and restarted my system too. I've got the shotgun and mission, but no welrod skin or airborne outfit. Where are those???
Did you download both the Conqueror pack AND the Airborne Elite pack?
The reason for the shot gun was u are trading stealthy for a sure shot or get u out of a bad situation. If the gun is neft it useless
Not so my friend. Spend some time at range figuring out the distances and use the rifled slug or armor slug. I got a 249 meter sniper kill and a soldier kill at 248. It's hard but can be done. I'm gonna try to find a easy spot to get some distance and try 250 plus.
Did they patch godmode? Last time i met a lot godmode players
I'll play it sometime after Callisto P, hopefully the anticipation will make it even better
PS-09:10...you said it brother.. I guess that is what was the missing thing i couldn't get my finger on it.. SE 5 is way too easy!!!!!
Sniper Elite 5 is missing Authentic Plus, its just way too easy unfortunately.
@@BrutalBarracuda yeah i think so too
@@BrutalBarracuda Lmfao get salt and toss some in eye followed by lemon juice and play. Or spray urrself with pepper spray just a lil and try it.
No mention of the Para skin ? and how do you get the sights on the shotgun Thank you.
The Para skin is part of the Airborne Elite DLC pack, this is the Conqueror DLC pack.
@@BrutalBarracuda thank you
Can somebody help me It won’t let me purchase the DLC pack with shotgun now is telling me I already owned it, but every time I go to my loadout, it’s not even in my inventory wtf 🤬
Search for it in the store and see if it lets you download from there.
Thanks
Have you tried searching for them in the store and downloading from there?
@@BrutalBarracuda Just did. Didn't know I had to go into the store. Downloading now.
Do you think the developers will ever release a Mad Jack Churchill weapon set like a sword and longbow?
😂 We can dream!
Heck, have a tank and a 222 in the town! I'll take both.
@@BrutalBarracuda ah thanks for explaing!
Im uploading a walkthrough about this atm shits was fun liked it better than the last mission
At the last part of this DLC, I cannot get my man to exfiltrate. Is there a trick to it? Just want to make sure the game is over. Thanks!
Once you have completed the 3 main objectives, head up to the top of the castle and interact with the flag pole.
@@BrutalBarracuda Done! Thanks! Hope there's a fourth DLC out there soon.
Lee Enfield?
I was keen on waiting for all content before deciding on getting the season pass, and I’m not super impressed. In my eyes, they’ve released a small amount of neat additions for the prices of full dlc. Doesn’t seem worth it. I can’t quite argue against the maps since I haven’t played them, but everything else is just so meh.
Do you know if they are planning on releasing a season pass 2?
I dont know for sure, but i think they will.
was disappointed throughout SE 5 that player is often tasked with destroying AA guns, but they never fire at the sky.
Hope they come with at least 3 more no cross maps ...👍🏻👍🏻
U have forgot lee Enfield
The Lee Enfield is in the Airborne Elite DLC pack, this is the Conqueror DLC pack.
Map took me like an hour and half. I killed everyone. Hardest part imo was the kill list area. The main area was dumb as fuck.
I would rather have new levels than crappy skins
SE5 has overall been a huge let down man. Shots just hitting a realm tear and disappearing is crazy. Most definitely had some buyers remorse with this game 🤣
It's such a shame that they've put all this time, effort and money into producing a sequel to SE4 yet somehow managed to make an inferior product.
Poor DLC, not worth the time and money.
They butchered the M30 in SE5
Well back SE 4 sm such a downgrade and a long wait for this....this could easily been put in on release smh
Gave up on this months ago thought it was a serious let down
So both camps are not authentic as they were never used on guns. Rebellion sucks.
Why not try shooting an explosive gas can or vehicle with the drilling.
