I say that Festung Guernsey is honestly one of the better maps in the base game of SE5 as it’s the closest that we could ever get to a SE4 map with how open and flexible the main objectives are with this map. Plus the multiple approaches and long range angles on this map also make it one of the best maps to play invasions on imo.
It's a nice map for invasion, but for me there are a few too many areas in the middle of the map that are inaccessible for no apparent reason (similar to Atlantic Wall), and it really did need that back route up to the kill list target from the area the tank patrols. It doesn't feel as open as it looks at first glance, and it's difficult to plan a route through the objectives that doesn't involve doubling back on yourself at least once. I like the setting, and a couple of tweaks could have made it great, but it just misses the mark for me.
@@BrutalBarracuda I’m sure I’m not the only one willing to keep paying for dlc missions. Rebellion could have a group of devs just for dlc while another group works on SE6. Hopefully they being back the trip and bouncing betty mines. Wish they would have a wishlist and complaints livestream or video. We need the radioman, flare gun man and alarms in se6. Get rid of the body boxes and give us more tanks, armored vehicles and half tracks. Hopefully we see some nebelwerfers (screaming meemie)
I expected that for sniper elite 5, but maybe rebellion thought gamers have seen too much of d-day( cod, moh, etc.) still I wanted karl in a landing craft
HUGE agree on Rubble & Ruin, I feel like it should've been two separate missions so that each portion got it's own time to shine Exploring the bombed city was maybe my favorite and most immersive experience in Sniper Elite 5, and definitely brought me back to V2 IMO the sub base could have been it's own separate mission, called The Kraken's Den or something, and been like a multilayered underground fortress worthy of a final mission setting The city itself, now having a bit more room to breathe, could have had more long open streets and areas for extreme distance sniping with that extra room
I appreciate your never ending enthusiasm for the game. Even though I loathed it and uninstalled it 2 years ago, the very fact that i'm here, shows that I want to love it. And your passion for the game has just about convinced me to reinstall it and give it another go, and try and see it through your eyes.
It's funny, but my top is almost exactly the same as yours. Except for the last two missions. Secret Weapon is in 1st place for me and I think I have completed it several dozen times, maybe more :) Every time I return to Sniper Elite 5, I choose the Secret Weapon mission first. But what's really missing from Sniper Elite 5 is a winter mission.
Occupied Residence is also good if you load up with mines and AP-with the amount of traffic on the roads you can create one hell of traffic jam and general mayhem when clearing out all three approaches before even entering the chateau.
The outdoor portion of Landing Force is probably my favorite portion of the whole game. I start at ruined reef, work my way to the top of the lighthouse, from the lighthouse you can pretty much clear the fort and the path to it, and from the fort you can clear the village and pier. Lots of sniping and that's what I want. Then you head indoors and its close quarters which is ok, just not when the game is at its best.
Not hugely different from my own list, actually. The main differences being, I'd have Rubble and Ruin higher (despite the sub pen being a letdown) and Atlantic Wall lower. 1. Secret Weapons 2. Kraken Awakes 3. Liberation 4. Rough Landing 5. Spy Academy 6. Landing Force 7. Rubble & Ruin 8. Occupied Residence 9. Conqueror 10. War Factory 11. Festung Guernsey 12. Atlantic Wall 13. Wolf Mountain 14. Loose Ends Thinking about it, 2-5 could probably come in any order.
i personally think that the it is much more deadly for the invader to go after karl in wolf mountain checkpoint as he literally has wall hacks and a plethora of almost limitless mines and explosives
Being a huge fan of night levels, this is my list: 1 landing force - love every single entrance 2 secret weapons - huge with many options 3 spy academy - default start with long-range sniping 4 war factory - good for non-lethal practice 5 occupied residence - French countryside rules 6 rough landing - nice objectives and scenery 7 festung guernsey - triple kill shot 8 kraken awakens - carrier ! 9 conqueror - castle sniping 10 liberation - start from the end of the level 11 wolf mountain - killing Adolf never gets boring 12 atlantic wall - solid 1st level compared to others (think SE3) 13 rubble and ruin - too many SE1&2 flashbacks, open scenery is much better 14 loose ends - what can you say
I think Liberation is the best, but like yourself, fighting along side the Rangers, coming of a beach during the first wave of attacks doing something similar to the start of Atlantic wall, while getting closer to the beach via battleship or Amphibian landing craft sniping at strategically important areas/bunkers/machine gun posts etc before making your way to the Rangers pinned down in the village at the bridges. Only one thing, The volume of troops defending the bridge at the start compared to the end, as soon as you blow up the blockade at the end only one panzer appears, should they not hit an alarm for reinforcements. And I also agree with your conclusion on Rubble and Ruin, town great, submarine base meh, and when I played the game at first I was looking for the impossible kill shot like at the end of Sniper Elite 4 when shooting down a moving plane with Bohms missiles, added urgency when the plane is taxiing to and eventually on the runway. Also with St Nazaire it would have been nice to see a wrecked water flooded dry dock, as a hats of to one of the greatest raids and VC counts of the 2nd world war. (See Jeremy Clarkson documentary the greatest raid of them all).
My ranking 1 liberation 2 rough landing 3 rubble and ruin 4 conqueror 5 occupied residence 6 spy academy 7landing force 8 wolf mountain 9 secret weapons 10 festung Guernsey 11 war factory 12 Atlantic wall 13 loose ends .I'm not gonna be ranking kraken awakens as i haven't played it as much as the other levels.
I think the devs missed an opportunity with the War Factory Map. They could have given the player more access to pipes and more and other factory buildings making it reminiscent of the movie Duel Enemy at the Gates.
Great idea. I think the War Factory map is beautiful but I don't like how the level design funnels you down each industrial plant with essentially one or two ways in and out. The level could have used some unmarked windows we could open to grant you secret entrances and exists from the optional objective buildings.
SchgurmTewehr - I think a missed an earlier opportunity was to stretch things out a bit by adding a mission or two involving the V1 (or Doodlebug) and sort of take the player through the history of this groundbreaking aspect of the war. I'dsomething
SchguemTewehr-Note sure why but my massage spazzed out. I would also like to see something set in Norway -maybe have Karl attached to the first commando raid in Lofoten (?) islands-plenty of side missions to explore from the landing to the capture of the armed trawler code books, destruction of the cannery and the capture of the hotel where the Nazi command we staying, Arrival of German reinforcements could spice things up a bit. I'd also love to see Karl drafted to the Pacific to take out a Japanese seaplane base laying mines to delay allied shipping or defending an island against an amphibious Japanese landing force. I think we all know why we won't see that though.
@@davidearea242 you can just respond directly to me instead of trying to spell my name. Then it will @ me and spell the name for you. And I agree with the Norway and Japan proposals. Would love to see any/both of those.
If you look at the Spy Acadamy Level, There seems to be a set of stairs rendered on the backside of the Cathedral Mount, and there is a door in the map that could have brought you up that side of the area, There could have been a thing where you have to retrieve a key for a door that accesses that area deeper into the map or maybe a piece of infor you needed to aquire by listening to the soldiers and officers to then find the key, unless you hear that info, the key location remains locked. There are many areas that seemed to be well rendered and programmed just outside of the play area, that could have been alternate routes to key locations.... - An actual reason to go on the bridge (hostage?)
- Heavy sniper cover
- A couple more patrols (vehicles?) in the forest
- Enemy alertness near crash sites locked to searching or higher
Why do so many stealth games have horrendous final missions, first hitman 3, now this.
Spy academy
I actually hate secret weapons
youre right, but games done for casual gamers ( money money money) and not for us....the dumb brick plays the campaign in one weekend and move to the next game, right and he doesnt complain about a weekend game! easy 70 bugs on xbox. i picked SE4 for 7 Bugs on XBOX and now i own all SE-Games except 1 and the DLCs for SE3, because its delisted on XBOX-Store.
Cant be bothered with SN5. SNE 4 was much bwtter
Agree, and it's not even close.
Agree 100%!!!
I have been playing SE since 1999 now. Elite 5 is the worst so far. There have been designers at work who have never played the original and 2 3 or 4. It sucks in many ways. Nor even mentioned the controles…
Absolutely, i agree with you!!
Take out the epilogue mission and the Hitler DLC is far and away the worst mission. Utter garbage.
Dreadful game paid top whack ...the AI spoils the game no decent traps wasted £50
My favorite is the Guernsey mission 🫶🏻
Any more gameupdates soon i wonder 🤔
