"Y'know, it's funny. I feel like I spent my whole life trying to be cool... but I only got as far as quirky." "I know what you mean. ...I think quirky *is* cool." This moment is actually so good and nobody talks about it.
It's heavily implied in this show that magic divides people. Magic can be equated to power, which always brings division. This could be between social classes, like with the mewmans and monsters, or just people in general. The ending is symbolic in that all the dimensions come together after the magic is destroyed, as it was keeping them divided before. Hopefully that helps it make a little more sense.
I never bought that Star was supposed to suddenly hate magic now, aftr clearly loving it and being dependant on ip up until the previous episode. And she's seen so much good with magic, done so much good with it, defended her family and friends with it. Sure, some bad things have happened too, but that's just people. People will always do bad things with the abilities avaliable to them, that doesn't mean it's always bad. But nope, bad people doing bad things=magic bad, apparently.
I really didn't feel that she'd only care about Marco not being with her either. Like, seriously, couldn't she at least feel sorry that she was losing friends like Tad and Kelly thanks to the dimensions closing or feel bad that she is pretty much murdering Glossaryck and other magical creatures?
PH5121 i agree with u and well maybe it was probably bc she was In the heat of a moment where she had to make a choice and that’s probably what came to her mind about what destroying magic would do
@@phousefilms Star was concerned about losing Kelly and was concerned about her wellbeing in Cleaved, though? Kelly would've died from the Solarian Wound if Star hadn't destroyed magic. She also felt bad about Glossaryck dying, but he accepted his fate and wanted Star to destroy magic. The only people that would've died due to destroying magic were Glossaryck, the MHC (who were terrible people and were Star's enemies), and her spells (which she didn't know were actually alive).

Hello, I like your reaction videos very much and would like to suggest a few good series to react to: 1.) Miraculous: Tales Of Ladybug & Cat Noir (3 seasons up to date [Netflix / Disney +]) 2.) She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (5 seasons only on netflix) 3.) Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts (2 seasons so far [only on Netflix])
I admit that Moon's betrayal was bad, but she is somewhat justified in her motives (that's not me saying I agree with or condone what she's doing). Eclipsa wasn't the evil tyrant she was made out to be, but she is, truthfully, not suitable to be queen. It's great that she cares about her family and wants to make things better for monsters, but she's greatly neglects her duties as queen and almost completely disregards or even doesn't even think much about the Mewnis at all, or at least very little. I think she was absolutely right in trying to make the lives of monsters better, but she didn't give one thought to the Mewnis, not in how the changes would affect them, in adapting to live with monsters, or any of the consequences any of her decrees would cause them. The episode that showed the monsters were just allowed to walk in and take over houses where innocent families were living and left them with nowhere to go just because Eclipsa said the monsters could have that land is just an example of this. She also focuses on her own personal issues more than what she should be doing for her people. As a monarchy, you can't do that. You have to put the wellbeing of your people before anything else, including your own thoughts and feelings, and even your family's if it compromises the best interests in your people; that's the unfortunate burden of royalty. When it comes down to it, she doesn't have her priorities in order to be a good queen. This is why Moon staged a rebellion and a coup to take back the crown, because Eclipsa was failing in her duties as queen. She was still a good, kind, and caring person, but she was not making a good queen, so Moon was trying to take the crown back. It doesn't excuse her actions, but I can understand why she did what she did.
@@Hanmacx Yes, they could have, but that's not what happened. The monsters just said that Eclipsa declared that to be monster land, so bye. Granted, the mewnis originally did pretty much the same thousands of years ago when they first arrived, but two wrongs don't make a right.
I agree that Moon may have had her reason, but the way she planned things was horrific, especially trusting someone as crazy and bloodthirsty as Mina. She trusted way too much in the possibility of removing their powers. She didn't have a plan B.
Remember that Eclipsa originally gave up her throne and the magic wand to be with Globgor before the MHC came after her and imprisoned her and Globgor, sending Meteora into a miserable existence at Saint Olga's abusive...hands? Metal claw dealies. When she ran away, they could have left things as is, given she wasn't the greatest queen(and in supplementary materials, truly unhappy with the snooty and cruel King Shastikaan, who her mother arranged the marriage with). But they didn't and what happened subsequently(Shastikaan being eaten by Globgor and so on)was on them. Moon partially hated Eclipsa already because of her memory loss and separation from her family, which was why she refused to live in Eclipsa's kingdom(and gave a rallying point for all the monster haters who were transformed into Solarian Warriors). However, we have to remember that despite the reasoning, this memory loss was partially Moons fault(not only did she attempt to destroy Meteora when she revealed she wanted the throne of Mewni(and not waiting for Eclipsa to talk her down)but when Eclipsa was ACTUALLY making progress and had nearly convinced Meteora that it was wrong and to come back, she knocked her down with rocks and tried to destroy her. Moon herself tried to murder Toffee when she thought Star was killed during season 3. Eclipsa simply tried to defend Meteora and it gave Meteora a chance to try to drain Moon of her power. One of the big things of the show that is touched on is the racism(/speciesism?)of the Mewmans. No matter if the Mewmans were given new homes built for them or not, they'd still hate the monsters. In "Starfari", the monster that just wanted to buy some clothes was chased away and Tom was even verbally abused before the shopkeeper recognized him and apologized. And given that the popup history book in season one said the monsters tried to retake Mewni for themselves(as it was theirs in the first place), we see a lot of disparity for what the Mewmans think they are compared to who they really are(I mean, in season 3, the big monster was willing to help "Princess"Marco, even though monsters were still second class citizens at that point). It seems that Eclipsa was actually starting to be the Queen that was needed as after Globgor was released(and that was all Moons doing, as "Tavern"revealed, most likely to make Eclipsa look bad), she was doing her duties happily. She was just preoccupied before because she wanted her family back together. And it was Star who gave up her (acting)queenship to Eclipsa, but really, the two are so very similar that I don't think much would have been different. Say Star HADN'T given the wand to Eclipsa. She would have so been busy trying to find her mother the whole time(at least as hard as Eclipsa was trying to free Globgor). Sure, Star would have her father to take the seat when she was elsewhere, but he's proven he's not exactly as great a ruler as his wife on multiple occasions. However, I will open it up to debate. Even if Moon was justified to be angry with Eclipsa for protecting Meteora and getting Moons mind wiped, she really wasn't justified in trying to end the good Star had done. Do you think that Moon WASN'T just going to change things back to the way they were before, like the MHC expected? To me, she doesn't seem like the type that would continue on in the same way Eclipsa was, even if Mina hadn't shown you shouldn't trust insane monster haters.

I always liked that the series came around to "Toffee was right"

Toffee was right. He just went about destroying it in the wrong way.
