It's ridiculous how well choreographed these turn out despite the random. Crazy stuff.
I love how Gael dies with a sword through his chest like a backstab at 5:18, then Cinder backs away and decides to check if he's dead with a lightning bolt.
1:00 the way nameless dashes to the other side so they could attack from both sides was so sick. Really looks like they’re actively working together and not just hacking away. 1:09 and then here they start alternating thrusting attacks perfectly.
it look as if Gael trapped the nameless king in a prison of blue lightning and NK focused his energy into one big yellow thunder strike to free himself.
This fight is so Anime I could even imagine Gwyn's memory of when the Nameless king was still a young boy and their father and son moments and how he became obsessed on his age of fire resulting to their falling out all coming back to the Soul of Cinder and now seeing his little boy got killed just filled him with absolute rage and regret... Had he only been a better father... Then PLIN PLIN PLON plays.
The Soul of Cinder, having only a fragment of his Gywn left in there amongst all the other souls, finally awakens at the sight of his son falling to his knees. Gwyn fully conscious enough to see his own son die is filled with unbridled rage. The fire of his blade filled with vengeance strikes down Gael in a final duel one on one. Yeah pretty anime

It's cause of how fast and aggressive Gael's attack patterns are compared to Soul of Cinder. If SoC was more aggressive and attacked faster he'd actually be a LOT harder than Gael, just due to the sheer variety of attacks he has. Gael's difficulty comes more from how often he attacks. Gwyn and his son, who was now The Nameless King, had finally put an end to the madness that Slave Knight Gael had brought upon himself and the Pygmies. But the cost was too dire for the resurrected Lord Of Cinder. His son, who aided him, who had been forgiven for turning his back on Anor Londo, had fallen in battle. Gwyn's heart had broken. His new body, crafted from the ashes of the Soul Of Cinder, was wracked with the grief of losing his forgotten son, who he had just found forgiveness. He knew his son would be resurrected by the New Flame, but the pain of not being able to save him was taking a toll on him. Suddenly, though, a dread creeped into his soul, as he turned towards... Anor Londo. *He realized something horrible was happening...* _Something had happened to Gwyndolin._ He had mistreated the boy, raising him like a daughter and looked down on his lesser light, but he had felt immense guilt for his actions ever since The Unkindled had awoken the poor god again, and taught him to not fear the dark. The Unkindled had shown him the error of his ways, and the folly of his mistreatment of his children... _...But there was legitimate things to fear from the dark._ He could feel a power invading his home... _... Something... from the Deep..._ Gwyn had no words for the dread he felt. If his guess was correct... _Aldrich, the damned Saint Of The Deep, and his damned Pontiff, Sulyvahn, were invading his home to finish what they started._ Gwyn had not had the time to apologize for his behavior toward the God Of The Darkmoon, and he would never be able to forgive himself if he lost his son before he could ask Gwyndolin to forgive him. Anyone else just love the synergy between the Nameless King and the Soul of Cinder? Following up on each other's attacks, comboing Gael to oblivion and covering for each other while they went for different strategies. It actually felt like an epic final clash between players controlling boss enemies who didn't care about defense. Even after Gael entered phase two, his two opponents didn't falter, not until the very end, where Gael managed to snag a double-kill. But then, the Soul of Cinder activated its second form, and it and Gael went down to a tense final duel, even though the Soul had a distinct advantage in regard to health. And as if avenging its fallen ally, the Soul of Cinder's last attack was a lightning bolt... even though Gael was dead by the previous attack. Still loved the fight. Great camera work.
4:28 "it's not enough, all of my skills, the knight from astora famed for his strength with the great sword, the swordman from the eastern land lauded for his acrobatics and skill with a scimitar, the prodigy from vinheim famed for his knowledge of great sorcery, the holy paladin from thorolund and his unstoppable spear. Lords of cinder getting defeated one after the other by this...this one slave knight. I need to tap deeper, to more ancient power of the Lord of the past." the soul of cinder's thought was cut short by the relentless assault by the slave knight. A flurry of overhead slam assaulted the ember touched knight, his armor strained, his coiled sword feel like it would snap at any moment. a flash of yellow lightning caught the soul of cinder eyes at the last moment as a spear ram through the back of Gael. but it only bought a moment of respite as the demented slave knight turned around and deliver a devastating slash on the nameless king. the stoic war god linger for a moment, he drop his spears and looked into the visor of the lord of cinder and fall to his knee. as their gaze met, the soul of cinder suddenly a new feeling emerge, a deep primal heat burn in his heart. what is this feeling? anger? sadness? love? a mixture of feeling welled up inside of him as the fire in him, thought to be weakened from continuous linking, began to burn hotter than before. he has only felt this feeling once, ages ago when he took upon his role as the chosen undead and linked the flame. instinct took over as this new force in his mind took the firelink sword and plunge it deep into the ground, gouts of fire engulfed the coiled blade, increasing it size twice over. he took a stance that was all too familiar. it was him, the first lord of cinder, Lord Gwyn has awoken.
Honestly that’s actually a good reason to despise your armor. Besides the fact that you literally can’t see because the opening of your... helmet ? (Do they even have a helmet under the hood ?) isn’t in front of your eyes, leaving big openings in the rear side isn’t only super ugly, it’s also super stupid. Like... how about a bit of chainmail or something ? You know, just so that they can’t be immobilized just by one or two strikes in the back ?
2:48 Just realized Soul of Cinder cast a heal here, which regenerated his health a good bit. If he hadn't done that he might've lost the fight later on given how low his health got.

The fact Soul of Cinder almost died to Gael at such low HP is terrifying only for a final finisher from the amalgamation of fire.
Next time you get a chance to fight them, keep track of how often you have downtime in the fights.
Anor Londo.
*He realized something horrible was happening...*
_Something had happened to Gwyndolin._
He had mistreated the boy, raising him like a daughter and looked down on his lesser light, but he had felt immense guilt for his actions ever since The Unkindled had awoken the poor god again, and taught him to not fear the dark.
Gwyn, his new body burning with dread, began to walk towards his home, his body still slow.
The Unkindled had shown him the error of his ways, and the folly of his mistreatment of his children...
_...But there was legitimate things to fear from the dark._
He could feel a power invading his home...
_... Something... from the Deep..._
Gwyn had no words for the dread he felt. If his guess was correct...
_Aldrich, the damned Saint Of The Deep, and his damned Pontiff, Sulyvahn, were invading his home to finish what they started._
Gwyn had not had the time to apologize for his behavior toward the God Of The Darkmoon, and he would never be able to forgive himself if he lost his son before he could ask Gwyndolin to forgive him.
He made his way towards Anor Londo, hoping he was not too late...

Lords of cinder getting defeated one after the other by this...this one slave knight. I need to tap deeper, to more ancient power of the Lord of the past."
the soul of cinder's thought was cut short by the relentless assault by the slave knight.
