Killing Seath, purchasing spells, him going mad... none of that is required at all. On the catalyst page it just says "final appearance" which is rather vague)

I really enjoyed the video! I'll have to catch up on some more of your runs, I like seeing people play these games in weird ways. Something a bit obscure regarding the Parasite Egg Infection-- A lot of people think they have to be grabbed multiple times, but it's always guaranteed from a single grab attack (regardless if you're wearing a helmet or not). It's easy to think it requires multiple grabs or has some kind of randomization to it, because after a single grab people will wonder why it hasn't worked. But it's just on a time delay. After two minutes the head scratching begins, but even this isn't seen consistently by everyone. You only scratch your head if you're standing still, and it tries every 10 seconds on a timed loop, but if you're moving or doing something else it'll be skipped. So someone constantly running around could theoretically never see the scratching phase. Then at 5 minutes and 20 seconds after the grab attack, it hatches! Something funny with the Gaping Dragon is that it can technically be inflicted with toxic, but any resource that says he's immune is effectively correct and you were absolutely right to not bother. Both its poison and toxic immunity are set to 999, but poison is actually locked and can't be reduced, while toxic can (probably a mistake/ oversight). Still, being so high, I found that even with disabling its AI so it stood completely still and I could spam my attacks, it took 5 casts of toxic, or 22 Dung Pies thrown literally non-stop. I just don't think that's very realistic, especially with how relentless you have to be with dung pies. So the only option would be to somehow dupe casts of toxic to get at least 5 I guess (and even then you have to be very efficient with it, so realistically probably need a good amount more). edit: For the Taurus Demon, you can get him to jump out of the arena and fall to his death on his own. Only need him to backstep through one of the broken sections of the wall. Still neat to see him defeated completely with toxic/ poison though.
Thanks, IllusoryWall! Always good to have someone who knows the ins-and-outs of the game confirm some of the things I was suspicious about. @@hugofontes5708 it's a run that requires you to really learn how farming weapons, drop rates, and weapon move sets works, so i would think that avoiding enemies wouldn't be allowed all the way until you unlock the shortcut to the boss room.
One thing that potentially could've been used was recommended by a friend of mine, the Tranquil Walk of Death. Apparently if you use a glitch called a "tumble buff" you can apply a weapon buff like Magic Weapon onto the Stone Greatsword, then you use its 2-hand heavy to activate that Tranquil Walk of Peace weapon art it has, and it will cause the buff's damage in the area around you for each tick of the weapon art's duration. Hey backlogs, thanks to you and other TH-camrs. I did the challenge run of single character going to new game plus 2 times on the same character, but every new game I had to switch my uses of attack spells. First, it was sorcery, then pyro, then miracles. It was fun, but also hard, but you guys really inspired me to come back to the game which I love very much. Also I got your plushy.
Lemon, I have never played any of the games I watch you play. I haven't played a game in a long time, actually, but watching your videos has become my favorite thing on TH-cam. I also have never commented on any video on TH-cam that I can remeber. So keep these awesome videos coming. The dark souls runs are my favorite however I have watched many other!
1. Good video 2. Does Karmic Justice trigger through toxic? (I'm guessing no) 3. Channeler's Trident would've been another way to up summon damage 4. You could've had Lautrec for the Gaping Dragon fight had you not rung the gargoyles bell 5. Ymfah also has a "pacifist run". Just thought I'd mention that. 6. Most of the run concepts you had listed at the start seem like something I'd love to watch. Especially, as plain as they might be on paper, the 'weapontype x' only runs, or cosplays. Though those may be more interesting if starting with the equipement rather than aquiring it throughout the run. 7. On that note, how about a "cosplay gun game", one character per boss, maybe a wheelspin for which one you have to use next. Would be a chance to show off more than just one character, which would be interesting anyways, seeing how so many NPC even have rings etc.
7:54 oh man, you too lemon? i can't even count how many times i've listened to daniil dankovsky's fun steppe vacation. +1 algorithm, thanks for the run!

Nice run! I'm always happy to see new DS challenge runs on this channel. I wonder if there's any way to do Seath and BoC with indirect damage. At first I thought you could use Undead Rapport, but then I realized that only works on hollows. There are no hollows in Crystal Cave, so unless it's possible for them to travel from the Archives to the Seath boss fight, that's a no-go. And even if that is possible, you would only have one chance at it, since they can't pass the fog wall. At any rate, I doubt a Crystallized Hollow could do enough damage to significantly impact the fight in the amount of time you would have. Similar story for the Bed of Chaos: you can't lure in any enemies from outside because of the fog wall. If you were somehow able to get an enemy inside the Bed of Chaos arena, that would probably be sufficient to beat it. Even if you couldn't get Karmic Justice to proc, you could probably just lure the enemy over to the Chaos Bug and get it to do the work for you. Unfortunately, though, I can't think of any way to do that. The fog wall prevents you from luring enemies in from directly outside, there are no summons in the area, and Vagrants can't spawn in the arena. Unrelated question: why do you use they/them pronouns for Gwyndolin? I thought he was a femboy. I'm no lore expert, though, and there's certainly something non-binary to Gwyndolin's character. So that's cool.
@@moraiel7925 .. What? He was saying that Ceaseless, an impossible boss for this challenge, is required to fight Kirk in order to get the last piece of the armor of thorns, which would directly affect what you said about using said armor of thorns to fight Seath and BoC.
There is no such thing as too much dark souls, my G. Keep doing what you do. You are the best to do it as far as im concerned!! Firebomb academy all day!!
This run is even better when you compare it to the scythe only run where lemon killed every NPC in the game. Literally the exact opposite vibe. Relying on the NPC to help with dmg, protecting, and healing them. This feels like one of the few "good" ending for NPC in lemons challenge run videos. This video feels oddly soothing for that reason.
He released a podcast episode explaining such but i personally dont like it because the npc's (Other than patches) are boring, the story is practically non-existent if you dont work hard for it, a lot of the weapons are completely reliant on the weapon art to be any good, the bosses arent very memorable, recycling of bosses, three of the endings are practically the same and you are just kind of plopped into these beautiful open fields and are told to seek the elden ring when you dont know what the elden ring's importance is or how it would benefit you to seek it.
Still don't get why you keep calling Gwyndolin "they/them". He's the youngest son of Lord Gwyn. The only reason one might confuse the two is that he was, because of his magic abilities and connection to the moon, raised as a girl. I mean, his sister Gwynevere even refers to him as brother.
I mean, using gender neutral pronouns when unsure what the individual prefers is pretty much the standard thing to do, and since gwyndolin never actually says themselves, their gender is ambiguous.
@@pjfett44 The lack of Gwyndolin explicitly stating his gender is hardly sufficient to make such a radical assumption. Applying this logic to other characters in the game, most if not all of them would end up being ambiguous in gender. Comparatively, every single item description and piece of dialogue refers to Gwyndolin as male, even coming from the characters who would be closest to him such as the Darkmoon Knightess, Gwynevere and Yorshka. As for why the author of the video refers to Gwyndolin as "they", he mentions watching TH-cam creator Hbomberguy in this very video, which should clue you in as to the reason why OP.
And what about the lava pool left by chaos spells like great chaos fireball? Wouldn´t that count as indirect damage? It will let you finish Seath at least
31:24 “The appearance of Gwyndolin himself can be attributed to this.” -Miyazaki talking about the blade of the dark moon covenant’s origin. Why do you keep using the they/them for Gwyndolin when DS1, DS3 and Miyazaki himself out of game have all said repeatedly that he uses He/Him pronouns.
You know, my first clear of Dark Souls I had actually saved Solaire and I brought him along to the final boss fight, not as a summon to help me win (goodness knows the difficulty of that fight was more *keeping him alive* for it than anything), but because he seemed so... Down and out that I felt like he really needed one last heroic adventure.

First, it was sorcery, then pyro, then miracles. It was fun, but also hard, but you guys really inspired me to come back to the game which I love very much. Also I got your plushy.

Memories of ejmad's G.I. Joe PSAs have come flooding back. Thank you.
give him the stick DONT GIVE HIM THE STICK
Lemon, I have never played any of the games I watch you play. I haven't played a game in a long time, actually, but watching your videos has become my favorite thing on TH-cam. I also have never commented on any video on TH-cam that I can remeber. So keep these awesome videos coming. The dark souls runs are my favorite however I have watched many other!
1. Good video
2. Does Karmic Justice trigger through toxic? (I'm guessing no)
3. Channeler's Trident would've been another way to up summon damage
4. You could've had Lautrec for the Gaping Dragon fight had you not rung the gargoyles bell
I was today years old when knowledge struck me.
Lautrec can be summoned.....
7:54 oh man, you too lemon? i can't even count how many times i've listened to daniil dankovsky's fun steppe vacation. +1 algorithm, thanks for the run!
21:01 WOAH-OH, LIVIN' ON A PRAYER~
1:49 oh Lemon, none can escape marketable plushification! *Grabs Lemon by the neck* *insert a psychedelic flash of light* *places the now plushified Lemon on a table*
17:55 that arrow MUST HAVE HURT
16:42 the father mask, the best looking mask in the game
Lemon flirting with Solaire throughout the video is exactly what I needed to start out Pride Month.
Plushie ordered! I can't wait for it to arrive! ❤ Great vid as always! 👍
This channel and your content was the reason I've got into souls games.
Thank you good sir, and please consider paying half of my therapy bills. 🙃
loved all the Mitten Squad references
John Wick is a bit cliche..but there making another John Constantine haha
Never have I ever thought I would see such a demonstration of both masochism and patience at thw same time, impressive
That Mandredd sounds like a swing guy.
I mean no offense when I say this...
But your kindness, warm concern, wise and patient conveyance of information, and the tone of your voice...you have the aura of "Jim Henson".
And I mean that in the kindest, warmest, happiest way possible.
I watch your videos not only because they are some of the kewlest challenge-run and videogame review videos on youtube....but also because your voice and personality are so very calming and peace-bringing.
You have something special dude, I wish you nothing but all the best in everything you do.
Sincerely,
Dm
So that's cool.
gwyndolin was forced to present in a feminine way by his father because he was born with an association with moonlight
Personally I consider Armour of Thorns indirect damage if Karmic Justice is, so you could just run into Seath and BoC with that on to kill them.
You need to kill Kirk in all 3 places to get it and one of them only works after Ceaseless is dead iinm.
@@undeadmercenary2080 Sure but the question was about BoC and Seath, Ceaseless is a whole different matter.
Well I want more 0:08
This video has single handedly convinced me to reinstall and start another challenge run. Ya love to see it.
Bro's really trying everything till the Elden Ring DLC releases.
Lemon doesn't like Elden Ring or at least that's what he's said in the past idk if he still feels that way
@@AGhostsGhostah, I see
That lemon for scale was actually perfectly executed. I can't think of a better way to do a scaling like that.
NGL, the Hbomberguy mention made me chuckle, felt so called out by that XD
This run is even better when you compare it to the scythe only run where lemon killed every NPC in the game. Literally the exact opposite vibe. Relying on the NPC to help with dmg, protecting, and healing them. This feels like one of the few "good" ending for NPC in lemons challenge run videos. This video feels oddly soothing for that reason.
So I've heard you say it before that you don't like elden ring but why? It's a great game
I think he released a whole video talking about why. You'll probably get your answer faster that way
Faster? It's a 2 hour podcast@@emersonwright972
Nice video as always. Didn't know that you can cross the lava without defeating that demon. Always something new to learn. Cheers from Germany
@@pjfett44 If that were actually the case, he'd apply it for every character in the game, but he doesn't so it isn't.
@@ribband I don't get that reference unfortunately. Never seen 'im.
@@pjfett44 So wouldn't that make Gwyndolin a grooming victim?
And what about the lava pool left by chaos spells like great chaos fireball? Wouldn´t that count as indirect damage? It will let you finish Seath at least
31:24
“The appearance of Gwyndolin himself can be attributed to this.”
-Miyazaki talking about the blade of the dark moon covenant’s origin.
Why do you keep using the they/them for Gwyndolin when DS1, DS3 and Miyazaki himself out of game have all said repeatedly that he uses He/Him pronouns.
Pathologic dissertation as well as hours of damage over time grinding.. Omg 🍋, you beautifully mad human you.
Thanks lemon I needed a backlogs video for this terrible day
Edit:Did not expect for people to try and comfort me thank you but I'll be okay 😁🫂
Same
What made it so terrible?
@kirbyisanalcoholic916 many personal things but his video is a good distraction 👌
@@foolishtooth530 tell me all about your personal problems. I will not sell your info fellow human.

You've inspired me to play dark souls and a couple of days ago I was able to beat it.
2:03 what a tease
(also: you're literally the only youtuber for whom I am actually thinking about buying their plushie)
Bro really hit him with the "give him the stick, don't give him the stick" 💀💀💀
I have no context for much of anything here, seeing as I've only ever played a tiny bit of Dark Souls 3, but I am always pleased by Lemon killing tall tail lady. It makes my inner antagonistic self giddy.
I skipped the plushie announcement *right* to the spot where you said "thanks for not skipping ahead" and I felt so guilty I immediately rewinded so I could actually watch it lmao
Am happy to see dark souls 1 coming back to life after all these years ❤
Not what I expected, but definitely got entertained. Also pre-ordered the plushie, now I must survive until College starts up again. 😅👌
Between you and the plush. I guess you could say, *YOU'RE* *THE* *LEMON*
I'll see myself out now.
Glad to hear someone else watches HBomber videos as background noise while playing souls games lol
You, Press, Baron and Ymfah are The Four Horsemen of Challengeruns, thank you for the ours of quality content you made
replace Baron with Challenger Andy
You may also enjoy LobosJr. He's got quite the catalog by this point, but most of it's on twitch.
@@rickswordfire4774 TY for the suggestion, I'll see his vedeos, but baron is irreplaceble
JKLeeds is another good one
Been a fan for a while now, Your videos are amazing and really let me live and play dark souls the ways I want to without actually having to. I also bought a plushie to show my appreciation Hope it helps
I had a "can't go outside, need to lay in bed all day and cry" day and your vids helped to distract me, thank you lemon
7:31 “well at least the grind is painless” yeah the whole run is painless remember
Lemon: They are not dares!
Dark Souls challenge runners: Sounds like fighting words to me!
Hey Lemon :-) i actually laughed when you said that we should not attempt your runs ourselfs. becaus i might have done the summoned weapons only run on dark souls 3... and well hated it but also loved it(might have made a vid on it too). so no Lemon we are stupid enough to keep doing these stupid runs you do. and we love doing it. Btw long time watcher just not on this channel love the vids keep it up!
"Alright gang let's split up and look for clues." That part with the Balder Knights walking in opposite directions was great. 😂
Backlogs: Do NOT attempt
Me: instructions unclear, now im knee deep in broken controllers
Lemon plushie made me say "Oh my god" out loud lol. I think that's enough sign that I should buy it, it's not often something gets an audible reaction from me besides chuckles.
The phrase "I have an announcement to make" is forever tainted for me by seeing Dr. Eggman in my head.
I skipped ahead thinking it was an add, but then you said thanks for not skipping so i went back and watched it and its a lemon plushie so cute
17:55 bruh a umbrella right in there💀
This is the exact challenge I’ve been curious about for a while!! Thanks for the quality vid per usual 🙏🏾
Not gonna lie, you did really well with the fear in your voice while calling your own handle during your plushie ad.
7:55 truly a man of culture watching the best video on that channel
Your videos are always so good. Big fan of salt and sanctuary because of you
Fighting Gwyn with Solaire by your side is the best. After all we've been through, I can't not bring him with me. Sunbros forever.
