Because nobody wants to reload.
Envious Assassin builds can work with Cenotaph locks doing div bitch duties.
Use your regular trace (appetence) to stack up on easier encounters but if stuff hits the fan or your Appetence is empty, go full ham with your Hammerhead.
And you appetence can still self reload when stowed with Cenotaph.
By time your hammerhead is done with its 200 or so rounds, your Appetence is pretty much topped off, then you can switch again.

Reconstruction on commemoration is just so good. That being said, 200+ rounds in the mag does sound nice. Always good videos from you.

Nothing against envious but you get close to or more from rewind rounds. It takes zero prep and you have it after every reload...
The Best thing about all these shiny n non-shiny onslaught weapons is their common unbelievable "Origin Trait" energy return perk..😊

I got Armor-Piercing with EA and Killing Tally paired with my G-Falcon Hunter Build, using that during the waves of onslaught

Running this with a rain of fire warlock allows you to keep your damage perks up constantly if you use icarus dash to reload

Destabilize / killing tally or onslaught for add clear. Rewind rounds / killing tally or target lock for boss dmg.
got two I am happy with one has rampage and killing tally, the other has under over and tap the trigger wanting an onslaught and rampage one though just to test it out. hunter reload dodge is my friend

Still farming for envious/recomb mountaintop. Got two midnight coups back to back with firefly/tremors so that gun is done.
Shame that explosive payload tremors is a lot better

Rampage and onslaught be a very nice combo and I think it’s the best for all classes but rampage killing tally will be amazing on hunter with reload dodge ans titan with armamentarium 👌🏽
I just received a Envious Assassin/Onslaught Hammerhead and if you get volitile rounds to go, ads gets destroyed in a hurry.
Man I cannot wait to farm this when I get home.

I'm pretty sure onslaught at times 3 does roughly %50 more damage . Have to run a few tests first .
The only way I would run this with two damage perks is with War Rigs Titan exotic so reloading isn’t necessary. Outside of that very specific build, imma stick with Commeration on everything else. Thanks for the breakdown 💯

Rampage with Killing Tally must be awesome.
yeah... you just dump the magazine so quickly though.. if you use titan with actium war rigs it would really make up for that though
Got a shiny with rampage, killing tally and +25 to range. Yeah reloading is an issue but an Titan with actium (or a prismatic class item with it's equivalent perk in a few weeks) won't have an issue if they pace out their shots wisely.

Honestly,.. for onslaught wave clearance, no other roll is better than auto-reload perk in third column n its much more easier to time it with its 3 second fully reload.😊
I got the extended mag, rewind rounds and onslaught roll this evening. It’s absolutely nutty and very fun to use. It’s still relatively stable too once onslaught really gets going.
thats what i love about this weapon! its so stable and accurate at its base that onslaught doesnt really mess with it... its still easier to handle than the retrofit escapade
As someone who doesn’t want to do a raid for a chance at a LMG. I’d rather play onslaught and get this instead.
That’s what I think hammerhead is. A good solid choice for those who don’t have Commemoration, but since I have the crafted version of Commemoration, I won’t be using it, but I’ll keep one just for nostalgia.
just as rewarding as getting a raid weapon without half the hassle!
I think the fact that it isn't chance and you can gurantee yourself a good roll with enough commitment is something I like more about commemoration. As for the brave arsenal, I don't know. But if you can get a solid roll than sure keep that rewind target lock one, but I think our other two lmg kings will remain our big guns when it comes to both the ad clear and dps scenario. As both retrofit and commemoration have guaranteed 5/5 god rolls with enough commitment to their respective activities. Meanwhile I could spend weeks grinding onslaught and never get a 3/5 commemoration if I'm unlucky enough.

I have an FTTC/Target lock Hammer head. Ik retrofit is the best weapon for those traits but I'm still keeping it.
Yes, Retrofit is better but also requires you to be closer to the enemy due to damage dropoff. At longer ranges, Commemoration and Hammerhead would be better.
I think envious assassin and target lock would be best for boss dps but rampage and onslaught would be sick for clearing mobs... this is m6 opinion

It looks good, but I'll keep my rampage, heating up retrofit escapade cause it has 85 reload speed
For those who havent really used desperate measures yet, don't sleep on this perk, although it's similar to Tricorn and a bit less damage, imo its WAY better. The perk doesn't lo k you into kill order, if you start with killin multiple enemies with grenade or melee you immediately have x3, then any kill from there keeps it going. Got a rampagr/DM roll yesterday with reload masterwork and it's amazing.
I have been a fan of Qua Xaphan since it dropped (solo player, never get to raid, LFG cant handle DSC), but never got a true god roll becasue f playlist weapon perk sizes and f Gambit for more than 1 season's worth of grinding -_- this will EASILY replace it as my go-to Gyrfalcon Heavy as there are SIGNIFICANTLY higher odds of getting a god-roll. ive been anticipating this week since it was announced :D

Some good options may need a couple. I think envious destabilising the best for void builds and burn. Opens up to use a primary weapon.

I just can’t get these two perks together. I want it for pvp. I must have gotten 100 hammerheads so far. Farmed to much the past week.. and had tokens saved prior to it releasing

Hammerhead only good if you have this roll:
Rewind rounds + killing tally
Then put backup mag
Otherwise, just use commemoration
I think Envious Assassin + Target Lock (or maybe Fourth Times the Charm + Target Lock) is what I'm going to be going for. Quickly taking down tough majors and champs, as well as doing damage to bosses, is going to be a top priority in higher difficulty modes, and this roll is going to be built for that purpose.
Too bad it's void. I don't play void builds very much. Maybe it will be useful next season.
dunno what it is with machineguns.. hamerhead, commemoration, retrofit escapade, all the notable legendary ones are always void

@@Itsrymo No shit, Sherlock. Obviously it's not ideal, but if you're playing a mode with locked loadouts (like a GM NF), then you have to make the best of what you have.
@@thorveim1174 At least there's Marcato-45 a world drop. There was Avalanche and that of Trials, of which I have a god roll with ambitious assassin and incendiary, but I don't really use them much...
Marcato-45 with demo and threadings is kinda better.

I just don't see myself putting that much into this, at least with its competition you can gurantee a 5/5 god roll after 5 weeks or so of just hopping on and doing the mission associated.

Reconstruction on Commemeration is significantly better than most of the perks on Hammerhead, unfortunately. The way D2 plays in spurts you really don't get to see much action of the damage perks. But in GMs you can always count on Commeration with Reconstruction to get you out of a tight spot.

I find Envious Assassin to be highly situational on this weapon. Because most machine guns are meant to be for add clear, it competes directly against what Envious is for, which is to get extra ammo in the magazine while you're getting kills with your other weapons. Envious does have its uses and dumping 200+ rounds into any target is sure to shred them in most game modes.
I'll most likely be chasing after a Rewind Rounds/Feeding Frenzy + Killing Tally. The fact that the gun doesn't have Auto-Loading or Reconstruction hurts it a lot because of the long reload on most machine guns and I don't see Commemoration leaving my arsenal for this one because of that fact. Double damage perks with Rampage is cool and all, but you don't really need it on an add clear weapon.
Everything said, I loved the Hammerhead back in the day and will chase a few rolls because I like the weapon's look and feel. Black Armory weapons in general had the best look IMO.

I got the roll and it's ok. Your not going to use it for dps and you have to reload so much for ad clear you lose killing tally. Def prefer commemoration

The other perks are
Rewind rounds and target lock.
Just having actium war rig on makes this incredibly makes it great for both as clear and some DPS.
With all the great damage perks on the brave weapons, machine guns are becoming quite popular for dps phases and really good for add clearing in onslaught.
So much misinformation and bad advice here. Envious is not good with killing tally as when I stow your weapon you lose KT. 4TaC refunds ammo from thin air, etc. you gotta try a little if you want the clicks.

Nothing special about this. People are just hyped everytime when they got something new, surfboard etc.. Corrective measure have rewind, fireflyes etc with huge stability.

For ammo economy and the ability to neutralize more than one combatant with a single round, it is very hard to beat the Thunderlord. The real test is stopping a swarm of flaming shanks, an attack pattern that recurs in Onslaught on a regular basis. I tried using the Sunshot + Hammerhead vs. a legendary hand cannon + Thunderlord. We could not keep the ADU alive with the first option.
