The Honda Civic is surprisingly very reliable, however, that does not mean they are all problem free.
I am not saying do not buy one.
I am simply trying to help people either diagnose issues they may have and help others with inspecting the car before their purchase.
Too many haters here in the comment section 😂

TH-cam deletes rude/aggressive/cursing comments automatically. I rarely ever delete comments myself.
And, I saw that. It really makes a lot of sense. I’ve seen those comments and I actually get a lot of those ignorant comments myself on some of my videos. There are always those types of people who cant see your point of view.
      Hope you are well!

I am not saying don’t buy one, my friend. I’m stating that if issues pop up, these are most likely the issues. And, a lot of people have validated all the issues.

I had the visor issue and my headliner sagging quite a bit. Another thing that I’ve seen on many 8th gen Civics is the weather stripping deteriorating everywhere but especially on the sides of the windshield. Nonetheless my 09 Civic has 110K and has never given me any problems in its 13 years of service. Still drives like new!

The headliner is an easy fix. My wife and I put red and white plaid on it 😅

i have an 06 honda civic and i absolutely love the car the drive, the milage, the looks, everything... when you mentioned the crack in the block i felt that one because the same thing has happened to my car.. the way it happened isi got service done at honda and my car was around the early stages of 100k miles and since this is my first car im not knowledge able in parts and what needed to be changed plus honda should of brought it up since they was working under the hood, anyway i was driving to this place about an hour away and some time between than my water pump failed and i wasn't aware of it so i drove the car hot and when i did it cracked the block.. took it to honda and they told me it will be $3k+ for a new motor/used one and i laughed at them.. im still dealing with the issue now and it has 160k miles.. if you don't mind paying $7 in coolant a month it should last till 200k+ miles.. my block started with one crack and broke open to two.. granted i tried fixing one side with jb weld and it failed miserably it still runs fine and im not about to drop $3k into a new motor id rather put that twords a newer model and never deal with that again... but figured id put my personal experience with the infamous "block leak" and tell you honda will no longer be on your side...

The only issue I ran into with this car is driving down the road with no lights on.
Led dash can't tell there, the dash is always lit. Fog lights will confuse you at times those are always on, and blend in with street lights and other things.
Fix: took fog lights out no highbeams but need lights on at night more so no one crashes into me.

Haha, one of our 2006 Civic LX had a faulty driver side sun visor after 4 - 5 years.
The power steering failed catastrophically at around 110000 miles.
Roof and trunk paint was very poor, clear coat failed in about 8 years, otherwise it was well cared for. Poor quality paint allowed for rust to form, usually near panel gaps at the bumpers/wheel wells.
Very minor trans issues/gremlins at ~70k miles. Mysterious lingering in 3rd gear, hesitation in shifting into 4th. After a drain and fill it basically disappeared.
Otherwise, I'm very happy with all of my Honda vehicles because I fix my own things. I was previously a GM guy, but came to appreciate the general reliability of Honda and to some extent some Toyota cars.

Not my experience at all. Have a 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid at 165,000 miles. Number of repairs I have paid for in about 15 years? ZERO. Mileage - up to 50 MPG. The control arm isue was handled via recall a gazillion years ago. Hybrid battery pack was replaced under warranty. The driver side sun visor does not stay all the way up --but is not falling down. There are some minor paint issues on the trunk fin-but nothing like what is in this video. I am sure I will have some repairs some day - but can only wish that all my past and future vehicles were this inexpensive to maintain. From new, the car has cost about $122/month averaged out over time and the gas savings has made the car essentially about $60/month relative to the Volvo I was driving prior ( which also had some real expense to maintain too ).

I literally have had none of these issues except for the motor mount issue, and that one is surprisingly easy to fix. These cars are very reliable. The only other issue I have had was a couple batteries needing replaced, a valve cover gasket, and then a starter, but those are all preventive maintenance issues that occur on ANY vehicle. I have around 190k on my 08 Civic EX coupe and it's still running strong. Though the issues in this video can potentially happen, they are still pretty rare issues
