In the 4th edition AoS rulebook, the maps show a few chaos dwarves strongholds. There is a quote tributed to "Hammers of Hashut" and an in universe letter that very strongly points to chaos dwarves and how they might be a threat at somepoint. And next to it is an artwork of what seems to be an icon of Hashut. I wouldn't be surprised if we got the chaos dwarves back sooner rather than later.
That would be cool, but only if they had the cool death masks like the cannon models. The old ones looked like miniature witches with beards….huge, long bulbous noses with bumps on them, long, mustaches and comically silly tall hats…like honestly, the size of their bodies
Knowing the Sanguinary Guard are likely gonna cost $60 for 3 models, id just buy some jumpack intercessors and paint them gold. If the models were more intersting maybe, but they dont even have wings.
There’s the Vizzik Skour model, the prophet of the horned rat. Asking for THEE Horned Rat as a model willl likely never happen. That would be akin to a Sigmar model or an Emperor model or one of the chaos gods in model form, it’s just not going to happen

The Warlock Galvaneer model actually got leaked 4-5 months ago when someone received it in the mail, so that's why it might seem like you've seen it before

Outside of squatting the OG stormcast, most people are very up on AoS. Maybe it isn't big in your area, but that doesn't mean it's dying. Absolutely goofy take.

Every other model shows theres at least 1 person who knows what they are doing but they sent him/her to work on aos and we got Black painted Brutalis and Intercessors as our new DC and 3 fat wingless and blingless stormcast as our most revered unit. They killed the blood angels range. They retired the only good kits we had left to offer us this shit
40k has been getting the boring models for one simple reason: 40k fans will buy it. Age of Sigmar has to convince fans to buy it by enticing them with creative, stunning models, whereas 40k models are purposefully safe and boring because people are buying it regardless. There is no incentive for GW to take risks with 40K's model design.
Wouldn't the exact opposite be better? If people will buy the model regardless you can go for more eccentric designs, and if people are turned of it doesn't matter. I'm not sure the reasoning holds up there. I always hear that people play AOE because of the better rules, and 40k because the setting is cooler. That would imply the exact opposite approach would be best, so I'm not sure the reasoning holds up here.

Fundamentally the same design for the last 10+ years because people will buy it. 40k sells, so everything tends to look similar to what came before it. I think that rules can be a draw to the product, but only for a niche subset of customers, namely tabletop gamers. The majority of GWs customers are more interested in lore and models, at least from my experience. They're not going to buy the models for the game it's based on, they're buying the game for the models, if they play at all.

The old world pricing for plastics is really reasonable, on par with 2008 prices in some cases (keeping in mind inflation) and is usually much cheaper than ebay.
TOW prices are weird. Some stuff is a pretty good deal, by modern standards. (In Canadian dollars, so knock about $20 of for US prices) Baseline infantry kits run you about $100 - which is great if you're picking up night goblins or orcs (40 and 31 models in their respective boxes), and just okay if you're pickup some like dwarfs (20 in a box). Baseline infantry for 40k or AoS usually come as 10 models in a box (zombies are 20), and run you anywhere from $50-$80 a box depending on the age of the models. On the high end, TOW is "saving" you about $60 a box, low end, you're paying about the same. However, this sort of overlooks the fact that a lot of TOW models are old enough to drink, vote, and enlist - so they've had years to recoup initial investment costs. All that being said, on the really egregious side of things, you have instances of kits for TOW being insanely overpriced. Best example that springs to mind is the Ushabti. You're paying over $100 for 3 metal models that were made over two decades ago. That is, in no way, a good deal, especially considering GW actually bothered to phase out most of the metal from the rest of the TK releases, and even add some stuff to the updated kits.

For me it's like I just got back into warhammer because of vermintide 2, and I thought skaven were cool, so I decided I want to get a skaven army, then LITERALLY 2 days later, games workshop comes out with THESE. The Horned Rat has blessed us, yes-yes.
I think a recent trend in their 40k scults is that their looking a lot cleaner and removing a lot of the edge and grimdark feel. I hope they dont keep doing this
My crazy theory is 40K has been going too heavy on Imperial stuff so there isn't the cool contrast like AoS. A verity of green skins, all sorts of Skaven clans, a verity of different elves, all sorts of undead, so a new Stormcast doesn't have to completely knock it out of the ball park. 40K it feels 90% human releases and only a smattering of Xeno releases outside of Kill Team. Which gets boring.
I think gw needs to understand that a lot of the old chapter specific kits just need to be upscaled & that’s literally it it’s a win win for everyone gw saves loads of money on production & making new sculpts & we get to basically keep the old models just in a new armour type but look almost the exact same

the doomflayers are definitely a photoshop or smth like that - not only are the bikes identical, the basing elements are too. I reckon we'll see multiple different bike sculpts in the box.
You know AoS is good because when we got the big Ratling gun people assumed we wouldnt get the ratling weapons team and we would be lucky to get the flamethrower team and then boom not only the ratling guns and the warpfire throwers we get a new warp lightning team on top of that. That kit is probably going to be godlike for kitbashing too
No a AOS guy, but those Skaven models look great. Looks like if you want to use those new Sanguinary Guard models, you're going to have to stick some stormcast eternal heads on 'em.
Personally, I only think the sanguinor looks good compared to its old sculpt. I have been working on a custom one with, I think, way more juice And I really don't like the new sang guard, I think it's a massive flop
Jay, age of Sigmar doesn’t sell nearly as well as 40 K. So GW has stopped putting in any effort to make models in the 40 K range that just wow us. They don’t have to. People will buy them anyway.
The new Sanguinary guard minis actually look good IMO... Except for the wimpy little fins on the jump packs with printed on wings. The old fully winged jump pack design gets across the vibe better. I expect to see people kitbash or add printed wings onto those tbh.
My Slaves to Darkness warriors are the old models and horses from Fantasy. I will get the Oldworld box set to add more. They are my favorite models, ever.
Skaven idea: start the painting with chrome base , for all their metal things . Glue fake fur and fabric for cloth and fur. They are going to look REAL and/or HORRENDOUS
It's a shame that the sanguinary guard were let down by the rushed release schedule of Gw. These models dont look that great because they reuse the skeleton of the jump pack intercessors. 😢
OK so youa re completely right about the new doom flayer model just having a different rider. If you look closely at the paint job you can tell its exactly the same on both so either photoshopped or maybe just changed the rider with blue tack
Those duplicate skaven doomflayers are the same model, but they are not the same photo. The models differ only in the right arm and head is swapped. The photos are different mostly in that they are photographed from two slightly different angles. I don't think they are photoshopped other than the usual cleaning up, color correction and cutting out the background.
AOS just got a new edition, and hence a ton of the focus from the design team. Remember last edition? Remember when 40k got the Lion, Angron, Dwarves, and several other awesome models/full ranges? Patience is a heck of a virtue. I personally like the Sanguinor, the guard are eh.
It feels like there is passion going into the sigmar models, all the new sculpts are works of art. The new 40k stuff feels like the designers were given a set of boxes to check and a deadline…

It's a shame that the sanguinary guard were let down by the rushed release schedule of Gw. These models dont look that great because they reuse the skeleton of the jump pack intercessors. 😢

the Doom flayers have been confirmed as units of two when they were being shown for the first time on youtube.
OK so youa re completely right about the new doom flayer model just having a different rider. If you look closely at the paint job you can tell its exactly the same on both so either photoshopped or maybe just changed the rider with blue tack

AOS is cool. Pretty cool really. I have 4 diff armies. But the customization and story of 40k is just more in-depth. That does it for me.
Betting the Doomflayer is a regular single model kit with just an alt head and arm on the sprue.
Those duplicate skaven doomflayers are the same model, but they are not the same photo. The models differ only in the right arm and head is swapped. The photos are different mostly in that they are photographed from two slightly different angles. I don't think they are photoshopped other than the usual cleaning up, color correction and cutting out the background.

AOS just got a new edition, and hence a ton of the focus from the design team. Remember last edition? Remember when 40k got the Lion, Angron, Dwarves, and several other awesome models/full ranges? Patience is a heck of a virtue. I personally like the Sanguinor, the guard are eh.
Don't care for the Stormcast hero. Yndrasta & the new Prosecutors are all better models with wings. I do like all of the new Skaven models.

It feels like there is passion going into the sigmar models, all the new sculpts are works of art. The new 40k stuff feels like the designers were given a set of boxes to check and a deadline…

The energy balls from the Skaven remind me of the Gungans from The Phantom Menace using those things on the droid army
