    Guys - the product looks like it does the job nicely, but honestly, you really ought to consider applying the product, then timelapse the video at least an hour, then show the final product again.

    For frequent details, this will work great in maintaining a rich appearance. For detailers, its great for the out-the-door, end of setvice detail.
    As with all good things, there are caveats: Oil based. Dusty environment? Expect this product to act as a magnet to dust and dirt until "cured"/dry. Plan accordingly (keep vehicle indoors until dry).
    Oil is a UV magnifier. Remember ArmorA*l? Applied frequently to the dash caused fading and cracking? That was because of the oil base. Intensified UV will cause long-term damage (fade/crack/drying).
    A lot of R&D goes in to products before they are marketed. I'm sure this product is no different, and I'm sure ChemGuys had these caveats in mind during development.
    This is a great product for Service detailers, Car lots and show prep. I would hesitate on repeated, long term use.

      Tire And Trim Gel is an oil-based dressing. It contains no solvents that damage plastics or rubber. The oils seem deep into the pores of textured plastic and rubber to nourish and moisturize the material from deep within.

Our Carbon flex trim coating helps protect those sensitive plastics from oxidizing, and helps to create an invisible barrier that protects the pores of the plastic from things that could etch into them.

    Its tire dressing. Hides the surface temporarily. Doesn't restore it. Think pancake makeup.

    Does it bleed down on the paint, if so you need to deoxidize molding vs covering it up

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, when applied correctly, Tire and Trim gel won't run down onto the paint. Follow the techniques outlined in the video and the dressing will stay right where it needs to be an nowhere else! Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more videos headed your way soon!

      Hi Parminder, the product you're seeing in this video is an older version of our Tire and Trim Gel, which can be used to hydrate and protect non clear coated plastic. Here's a link to the product from the video on the Chemical Guys website. Stay tuned for more great videos Parminder!

    Does this only work on black trim or can you use it on other colors?

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jose, the product you see in this video is the Tire and Trim Gel, it works best for Vinyl, Rubber, and plastic pieces to make them look hydrated. There's a good chance that it will work, however typically we deal with black colored trim pieces. Tire and Trim Gel is colorless, however we're not entirely sure how it will react with a colored textured plastic. You would have to try a small inconspicuous test spot to see how the product reacts.

      Chemical Guys okay thank you for the reply! I have an f150 with dark gray flares and I wasn't sure if it would work or not.

    No prep first like thorough cleaning then an iso wipe?

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, good question. Yes, you should thoroughly clean the area first with soap and water or a waterless wash, but an iso wipe is not necessary. Thanks for watching and make sure to check back later today for a new video upload!

    Yeahhh this looks junk. It looks great, but I also see an uneven coloration on the upper left panel that isn’t fixing it- it’s just adding oil which makes anything look richer, for a week. 303 aerospace is pretty good, but apparently ultimate tire cleaner is even better for longer lasting.

    isnt this a variant of the black on black? i can use black on black and will it give me the same look?

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  11 ปีที่แล้ว

      Black on Black is a spray. Trim Gel is a gel form. Both give a great since, but gel adds more protection and can be applied with an applicator pad.
