@@coyleigh, You will understand if a strange spiritual being awakens in you from an arrow, and one hundred-year-old vampire will not directly put your mother in danger
This song reminds me of a time where I traveled across Europe from New York. Met a friend in Italy while I was there and we decided to travel to Switzerland together, as well as some very enthusiastic German blokes, my mother funnily enough, and my eventual wife. Now 50yrs later I'm taking my grandson and some of our friends to Egypt! How time flies!
My grandma told me when she took a trip to Egypt in 1987, while she's listening to this song in her walkman she saw a British man, two Japanese bachelors, a Frenchman, a native Egyptian and a Boston terrier dog walking together
What makes this song so awesome is it's just fun. My six year-old daughter was bored one day and I suggested I could teach her to "Walk Like an Egyptian." I introduced her to this song and the video, and she soon knew every word to the song. She was so proud she learned it when she was six and we did the dance together, breaking it out during the father-daughter dance at her wedding. One of my happiest moments as a dad, both the first time and the time at her wedding.

David Mckenna This song and another popular one called Roundabout were used in an anime (adaptation of a Japanese comic, aka “manga”) called JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. People usually get annoyed by this fact but they fail to realize that Hirohiko Araki, the illustrator and author of the manga, actually listened to these songs while finding inspiration for most of his stories, which take place all over the world (America, Britain, Italy, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, etc), and that there’s a multitude of references to other incredible musical artists as well, such as REO Speedwagon, AC/DC, Queen, Prince, etc, and that Araki is paying respect to a lot of these artists, and that David Productions, the company that adapted the manga into an anime, is further pushing that out by including the songs in the anime.
@the riff Basically every band at the time didn't play the instruments on recordings, the Bangles were the exception. Try looking stuff up on your own, y'know?
This song was so huge! Everyone was doing that silly dance haha. I vividly remember getting a picture taken with my sister and one aunt striking the Walk like an Egyptian pose. Ahh memories. One of the coolest things about music is how it can take you back to a time and place in your life.
Notice how much space and silence there is after the sing the "Walk like an Egyptian" line? That's what made this and other anthems from that era really pop. There was a dynamic to the songs; they maintained the groove the entire time, but also let space happen. This song absolutely rocks, regardless of wether you think it's floop-dee-doo to like the Bangles. Admit it. Rock Like An Egyptian is a bonafide Rock anthem.
@@Ani-vw1sh Yes Jojo is an anime which only consists of men going into crazy fights, the story and narrative is probably one of the best in anime and the characters are funny and charismatic also some people might call this gay but i think its just flamboyant masculinity
I doubt it. The woke crowd would crucify you! I can't think of anything more ridiculous, divisive, and destructive than the idea of someone feeling the need to be a proxy victim for the uninsulted. Victimhood will soon be an Olympic event.
One of the most original and compelling songs ever recorded. Still listenable and enjoyed decades later. THAT's the definition of a hit song. These folks just killed it. Rock history is where they ended up...
@@justinmorgan2126 All those decades being embarrassed. That's too bad. When your song stays viable for over a quarter-century...it worked. All the parts fit and all the bolts tightened. It's also interesting to note the crowds they play in front of. It's not the local bar. They're in front of concert-sized audiences the entire time. That's success and has nothing to do with you being embarrassed. Sorry...

What's up now
David Mckenna This song and another popular one called Roundabout were used in an anime (adaptation of a Japanese comic, aka “manga”) called JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.

The Bangles were unusually talented, they played their own instruments and had a lot of good songs too!!👏😍🤘
One of the tightest live acts EVER!
One might even say bizarrely talented
They went triple platinum
@the riff Basically every band at the time didn't play the instruments on recordings, the Bangles were the exception. Try looking stuff up on your own, y'know?

Notice how much space and silence there is after the sing the "Walk like an Egyptian" line? That's what made this and other anthems from that era really pop. There was a dynamic to the songs; they maintained the groove the entire time, but also let space happen. This song absolutely rocks, regardless of wether you think it's floop-dee-doo to like the Bangles. Admit it. Rock Like An Egyptian is a bonafide Rock anthem.
This song is actually over three thousand years old.

It was an embarrassment when it came out and it still is today...
Sorry...
