Hey bro, I watched WSS show in Indonesia and I saw you in the back of FOH doing the mix. And I have to tell you that it was the best mix I've ever heard, the sound balanced really well, the vocals and all the instruments mixed really good!!!
I’m not saying that you’re wrong for what you’re doing. But it’s a great video to learn where things are. For me I need to hear the full band or music to make drastic changes like this.
I'm studying audio engineering right now at SAE Institute, and you're one of my biggest inspirations since I want to be at FOH (I just want to let you know I'm from Mexico, in case I'm saying something weird, still learning about english)
Ive been following your amazing journey that I dream to have for a while and have learned some much knowledge. Thank you for all the great information and videos you share!
Lovely video, one small tip: by default, "auto env" is turned "on" for the compressor. When it's turned on, the envelope parameters don't do anything. Something really annoying, I always turn it off when turning on the compressor insert.
Re:overheads. Why not make use of the Wings ability to have every channel as stereo or mono? It still takes up 2 inputs but you can link those inputs and then just use one fader. Every fader has the ability to run in mono or stereo.
only case is when you want to delay differently to overheads, some do that, as per rule it is equidistant from snare and stereo channel is a boon in wing line mixers
This is the reason I don’t like mine, I need to delay them separately and might have to flip the phase on one side… Keep the stereo linking for tracks n stuff
Curious, what do you think of he Wing Compact over the Midas M32R? Obviously, touch screen on the Wing is cool, but I kinda have the M32 functionality in muscle memory. You get more fader real estate on the M32R, but I'm assuming the Wing interface has a few tricks up its sleeve? I mainly mix theatre productions, so DCA mixing is my go to [of which the Wing has 12 - but 8 is my preferred state in the heat of the moment]. I have to admit that the Wing form factor is attractive. I probably need to check one out in the flesh. I've been watching your content for a while now, and it's always top tier. 😊
Hello, so cool ! Be careful, in the comp section, you have to turn off the Auto env fonction in the left side to control attack hold and release. Waiting for the sound grid module ahah !!

Love your mixing techniques.
Mixing by ear - not by numbers or eye
Thanks for that!
I've been waiting for this video for a long time, ouh yeaaah
Hope you enjoyed it! Next episodes out soon!

@@RattlinBonesClub I'd love to see how you deal with a boomy room/venue. Maybe another time? Love the channel

I will check this out! I've not had a chance to really deep dive into the console yet, so I will be doing that and then doing a more in-depth video.
Good mix!!
Thanks 🔥

Of course, I didn’t think about delaying separately.
Can’t wait to watch this!
Thanks!
@@RattlinBonesClub it was great! I do lights and a little sound. We run an A&H Dlive c3500 at our place
@@RattlinBonesClub very helpful info
Good video! 👏
Thanks!
hi, thanks for the video, tell me if you plan to use a built-in WSG card for this mixer, if so, cover it in the next video
Yes I will, when i get chance to use it properly i will do a video on setting up and using waves!
@ super, it would be interesting to see the installation of the wsg-AOip card inside the mixer. Or did you buy a mixer with it already built in?

Great video dude! Everything I'm seeing about the wing compact is very nice, how do you like the console? Thanks for sharing this!
Tour Dad❤
What are you using to loop the recording?
Waves tracks live is handling the playback

What kick mic is used here?
Shure beta 91A
@@RattlinBonesClub only this 1 mic?
Suprised you’re not using any of the SSL eq or comps.. also no drum bus or parallel comp?
This is just showing how I’d quickly set up a mix. I’ll do a deeper dive onto using this desks other eq’s and features in the future
Makes sense…i just got the rack version and the difference of having the built in ssl eq, comps, api 2500 is night and day vs my m32r lol.
