Brittany thanks for sharing motherhood in such a non judgemental way. More women should communicate their experiences the way you do!! Breastfeeding was the hardest thing I ever attempted in my entire life. It didn’t work out for me, and I brought myself down for it and felt guilty and like I was failing my baby for over a year despite us switching to formula after a month. My daughter is over 2yo now and to any mommy out there reading this who is struggling or going through something similar I want you to know that your baby loves you unconditionally for trying so hard and you’re doing your best. Formula is a great option and it’s okay that breastfeeding doesn’t work. You’re a great mom, chin up and be proud!! (I wish I would have read something like this when I was sobbing in front of a 1/2oz supply that I pumped over 2 days..)
I am due with my first baby in January, and I’m so happy I found your channel! I’ve been watching all your baby videos, and they are helping me to feel less stressed. You’re a great mom and role model! 💕
I honestly don’t think I could ever have been more prepared to be a first time mum due in March if you didn’t exist and make these videos. I will forever be grateful. You are simply amazing, the honesty and openness and information you share is a god send. I have to limit myself so I don’t watch all your videos in one go. I loved you before you were a mum but the way your channel has grown and developed throughout this journey has been amazing. So yeah huge thanks from a mum to be in the UK. You’re an inspiration and an incredible person xxxx
As a mom to be sitting at 18 weeks pregnant i can't stop watching your videos, you are so real and raw and I love itttt!!! Thank you for being willing to share so much information about your experiences!
I watched this when i was pregnant and am rewatching it now. Breastfeeding is the HARDEST thing i’ve ever done. My milk came in the second day after i left the hospital and i was also surprised how painful it was. My son would only feed 5 minutes on one side and fall asleep for about 45 minutes then want to eat again. I got NO sleep so this lead to me trying to pump, eventually getting two clogged ducts, one ending in mastitis. I spoke with 4 lactation consultants and eventually through google and advice of friends was able to get a good routine down using milk from the haakkaa if baby is hungry again shortly after initial feeding. I had no idea it would be so hard so i’m glad you shared this because it’s definitely not talked about enough!💕
My bubba is 15weeks and we've had a fairly easy breastfeeding journey, I made sure I read up on breastfeeding while I was pregnant and it helped so much when issues came up or just with any anxiety about supply etc. Hearing all your struggles with it made me tear up alittle! Its such an incredible journey with your baby I'm glad you didn't give up!
I've been struggling so much with breastfeeding that I just stuck to pumping. Both have been incredibly painful and uncomfortable. My daughter ended up in the NICU bc I wasn't producing enough and now I'm severely overproducing. I've been hesitant about reaching out to a LC cause I didn't have such a great experience in the hospital, but it's getting to the point where I'm desperate. Seeing that it worked for you helps ease my mind a bit. This journey can feel pretty isolating, and it helps seeing that other moms have struggles they can overcome too. Thank you for always being so honest about everything. 💜
I’ve been watching you for many years since the days where you would film hair colour change videos. As a mum of a toddler and a newborn myself I have been really enjoying your content since you became a mom! You keep it humble and real and yet so cool at the same time. You’re doing amazing.
New time mom here. Had a breakdown today because my 5 day old baby boy isn’t latching and I have such low supply and I’m in so much pain.. thankfully came across this video today and feel so much better! Thank you for being so real
for anyone watching this late, breastfeeding can be free. i’m breastfeeding now and i just use regular pillows for support and applied for WIC and got free formula and a free breast pump
Thank you for being transparent and sharing. I'm glad your BF journey is going well right now! We also had a rocky start to our BF journey, which resulted in having to combo feed from 3 days old. We are still combo feeding at 8.5 months, but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. People think breastfeeding has to be an all our nothing deal, but it really doesn't 😊
I have breast fed two babies and I have to applaud you for the best video I have seen so far around this topic. All the info in one video!! A must see for all nursing first time mums
I’ve been waiting for this! My little one is 6 weeks now, your videos got me through pregnancy and now the first few weeks of motherhood. Breastfeeding is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Just as I started watching this, my boobs were basically empty (supply issues) and LO was screaming the house down so had to hand off to hubby to supplement a couple ounces with a bottle. It’s a struggle, but you’re videos and insta are honestly a big help. Your personality really uplifts me!
AWESOME video! I had my first 12 years ago and am baby prepping now since I’ll be 35 and its time to start family planning if I want another. I lasted maybe 2 1/2 months breastfeeding (actually pumping since my nipples were darn near torn off by my son). My supply dropped, I did horrible sticking with pumping at night, and he eventually went to strictly formula. I’m determined to make it work this time around so I’m doing tons of research (plus seeing everyone’s babies really help with my baby fever). I love your transparency and the fact that you normalize your journey not going straight. Some moms just latch on right away and boom, no problems, others, like you and I, take a few twists and turns.
Thank you! I’m having a rough time of it with my 5, almost 6 week old. Didn’t try much with my first so this is all new! You make me feel like these struggles are normal!
I first watched your "Body after Baby" video and I was so impressed by your entire attitude. I just had twins and it was refreshing to hear your perspective. I also found out they have a dairy and soy intolerance because of mucousy poop with blood in it 😭 Their poop doesn't have blood anymore but is still mucousy and loose, so they may have other aversions, so I'm basically eating more strict than whole 30. It's so sad and exhausting trying to figure it out! Thanks for your honesty in these videos. It's nice to know others go through the same thing!
I loved your content before Arrow, but now I'm like really diggin the mom stuff! Our babies are similar in age and it's nice to hear some good breastfeeding advice!
Just a heads up mama’s a normal pump output in between feeds is .5 to 2 ounces and for a missed feed 2-4 ounces. Anything above 4 ounces is an oversupply. No food or drink will help increase your supply that is a calorie deficiency and dehydration. Power pumping 3 times a day will increase your supply if you do it 3-5 days in a row. Supply is all about demand keep a pumping schedule if you’re exclusively pumping/missed feed, and nurse on demand if you’re exclusively breastfeeding.
Omg, I’m three months postpartum in two days and I’m experiencing what I thought was my milk decreasing. This just made me feel so much better! Thanks so much for this video!
Arrow is such a beauty! Those eyes. Also appreciate your honesty about breastfeeding! Makes me feel less alone, particularly how hard you found it at the start!
Thank you for sharing and being so transparent. My little one is 3 weeks old and I'm currently trying to build my supply up. It's refreshing to hear not everyone's journey is a walk in the park.
The beginning of my breastfeeding journey was worse than giving actual birth 🥴 but I wouldn’t trade it for anything! Anytime someone asks for advice I always inform them on the nipple shield it was definitely a lifesaver!
I seriously love you, your transparency and your mom videos! I found you when I was pregnant and I’m so happy I did cause my baby girl is 1 month 1/2 & it’s good to know especially about the 3 month milk change! Thank you!!
It is very normal for the milk supply to develop a few days after giving birth. I'm expecting my first in July and planned a home birth. I am 28 and really thankful for all the experience and knowledge before going on this mama journey. Having an older sister get knocked up twice and I helped raise the first from infancy to 3-4 was very informative! Everything I feel confident about but did start researching the hell out of breastfeeding tips and info. The My Breast Friend nursing pillow is a great recommendation!
Omg. I exclusively breastfed my first for an entire year and this is the video I wish was available then! It would’ve saved me so much stress!! I’m now pregnant with baby #2 and hoping to breastfeed for the first year as well.
Thank you sooooo much for posting this. I’m a forever subscriber now and plan to binge all your videos. You are beyond helpful to this momma to be. 💕💕💕
This was super interesting! 💖 My daughter is turning 7 weeks tomorrow and breastfeeding is going so well but boy was it hard in the beginning. My boobs got much bigger quickly and my nipples became inverted + they wouldn't harden, which made it super difficult to get a good latch. She would just lose it every time I tried to nurse her. I remember sitting on the bed on the 3rd day, bending over a spoon and trying to get colostrum out and just balling my eyes out. I thing I got 3 small spoonfuls in the morning and by night time I was able to feed her 20! And I just kept offering her the boobs and it eventually worked and has been working super well ever since. But thank goodness for my supportive husband and midwife who took the time to help and guide us through it. I can understand how people without support give up and just switch to formula, it's not always easy!
Thank you so much! I’m gonna really need this in 1 week and 6 days (hopefully sooner than later)🤰♥️ you always seem to come out with some much needed content for me. 😊
9 months preggo w/ our first, and needing all the REAL breast feeding info a momma can get! You are the absolute best. Your spunk and honesty are SO GREAT! 😎❤️
Just gave birth on the 20th last month and your videos have been amazingly informative and lifesaving! I love your videos especially the ones where nobody wants to talk about the negative or gross stuff! Covid has been an added stressor with parenting too. So thank you for the being the “big sista” I’ve never had to help others by embracing your experiences with motherhood! You are amazing!! 💕
Great information. My daughter was born full term but unexpectedly small at 4.13 lbs and sober 5 nights in the nicu. I tried breastfeeding her but she couldn’t breastfeed well because she has a tongue tie (I didn’t know she had the tongue tie until recently which I actually found out about getting checked from a video on TH-cam). The hospital missed it and my pediatrician. She’s now almost 6 months and 13.8 lbs and she’s doing amazing. I’ve exclusively pumped and fed her bottles for the passed 6 months. She got the tongue tie procedure done a few days ago so I’m hoping she’ll be able to transfer milk and breastfeed soon.
I just wanted to say that it's amazing to see this glow on your face. It's absolutely unbelievable what our body is able to do, I mean we give birth to a beautiful human being, it's crazy. I'm so genuinely happy for you, I've been following you for years and years and it's amazing to see how you've evolved over the years. ❤️
i love how honest you are with your journey, this video is beautiful and I'm so thankful for your channel & following you on your journey with motherhood. I'm currently 37 weeks pregnant and I've been following you all throughout your pregnancy and now motherhood journey, and your transparency makes me feel like I always have a friend to count on when I need advice :)
Been bingeing all your pregnancy videos the last couple weeks!! Love how real you are and not so perfect in the best way possible! Question??? What camera do you use/hand held. Want to get a new camera for my pregnancy and new born and I love the quality of your everyday videos!
I read SOO much about breastfeeding. My lactation consultant called us the super stars at the hospital... still, had so many ups and downs! The 3month thing was HORRIBLE! I cried and she cried and we all cried.... and yes I tried the emergency browines (thanks to your story on IG) and they were life changing!!!
Yesssss I'm breast feeding cause it's convenient 😂 no bottles to wash or make or warm up. I'm happy I can pop out my boob and just give it to the baby 😁
We have had almost an identical journey babe! Breastfeeding is such a rollercoaster and it was nice to hear your take on it! Husbands just don’t always get the struggle!
Thank you for this video! My baby is now 3 months and we’ve been going through the same exact thing you described. I had no idea it was something that happened & just thought our BF might be coming to an end 🥺 so thank you!! 💜
I just had a miscarriage this weekend, yet I’m so exited to keep on learning for the future! If you are out there, having something similar, lost a baby while pregnant, just know there is still hope. I wish you the best recovery and I feel your pain. It’s hard but we can do it
I have had three miscarriages in the past 18 months and I’m so sorry 🖤 you’re right, there is still hope and things get better. I hope your healing journey goes well 🖤
I'd go with the Elvie hands down. There are 7 intensity levels, so you can find which is right for you. After investing in such a nice pump I would hate to spend money on extra parts and bags (these aren't cheap!). Elvie comes with a full extra set of parts/bottles so you have everything you need right out of the box, especially useful for busy moms who don’t have a ton of time to wash parts. It also lets you toggle between letdown and expression mode, which I have read the other hands free pumps do not.
Thank you for this clear straight to the point video! I’m having my second babe in April and my first was completely formula fed so I’m in the complete darkness when it comes to breastfeeding!
I breastfeed for over three years between two kids so I can relate to so many of these lol. I love that women are becoming proud and talking about the good and the bad. I just found your channel and I love your vibe and your honesty!
Thanks for sharing! It's so crazy how different everyone's journey is. My mom breastfed 4 kids with no problems. I have insufficient glandular tissue, so I could only make about half of what my baby needed. I'm due in Feb with my 2nd, hoping that my body is making more tissue this time and also going to start pumping and see a lactation consultant right away, but if we need to supplement again at least I'll know why!
By far my favorite video. (besides birth story🥺) 30 weeks pregnant with my first and I didn’t know ANY of this. I feel like everyone talks about breastfeeding as the best thing ever with no problems, but I’m so happy I watched this because that isn’t always the case for everyone. ILY Brittany. Arrow is so cute. I’m so anxious about adjusting to having a baby around that I’m responsible for (and I’m a very responsible person so idk why I feel this way) but your videos are reassuring that I’ll be able to do it. ❤️❤️
So informative! I’m preggo with baby #2 and I’m on a mission to try to fully breastfeed this time (had such difficulty with my first so I just gave up). All your tips will help so much!
Ugh I love this video so much! I’m also new to breastfeeding and it is so stressful!! I’m constantly scared to have no milk or low milk. It’s a journey for sure.
I wish I know of the 3 month change because that’s exactly when I stopped breastfeeding my baby because I thought I just didn’t have milk. A year later on my second child and I’m barely learning about it from you! Thank you so much hopefully I can push through this time
Shields were my saviours too, even I could breastfeed for 6 weeks only. Baby girl is expected next week and I’m really anxious how the breastfeeding will go.
Just hitting 3 months of breastfeeding and these are all super helpful tips for new moms! I agree, they should definitely educate more on these topics. I learned of the nipple shield from one of your past videos and it helped me! Thank you 😊
My Fav I’s the target cookies, and supplements. I also pair that with the right amount of sleep, loooots of water and my favorite veggies boiled or roasted. Cauliflower, green beans, carrots, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, bell pepper. ( you do u I only eat the veggies I like.) The day I do this the next day the milk is more the day after that I’m golden. My fav ( sweet potatoes, red bell pepper, cauliflower, Costco’s steak seasoning. ( I line the baking pan with foil so it’s easy to clean. 400 for 20-30 min easy yummy and veggies are the way to get milk because nutrition and sleep is super important.
Awesome video!! Two questions: 1. When do you pump? And is it to replace a feeding or just keep your supply up? 2. What does her feeding schedule look like? Love your channel!! 💛
I really loved this video. Could totally relate with you on facing difficulties with latching. I have a 2month old baby and wasn’t aware that the milk supply changes during the 3rd month. Thanks for the information. And honestly you are doing a great job.
I love this! I actually thought it was too short, I could listen (and watch) you talk about this for hours! My daughter is just hitting 3 months so I appreciate the reminder about the supply change 🙌🏼 and the sunflower lecithin 🤞🏼 THANK YOU!
I’m so happy to hear that you were able to wean your little one off of the nipple shield. I’m currently struggling with it and really hate carrying it around with me. It’s so inconvenient. 😖
My little one was diary intolerant too, I was dairy soy free till she was 6 months and then the doctor said we can try dairy to see if she outgrew it. She is 6 and a half months old and I’ve been eating dairy for two weeks. She completely outgrew it, talk to you doctor about it, maybe you can try to reintroduce dairy as early as 6 months if you are comfortable with doing so. ☺️
Currently pumping watching this. Formula is 100% easier from what I have heard. I however just want to do what I personally think is better for my little one which is why I keep trying to stick with it. It is hard though as you know lol my little one will be 5 months next week 🥺
i’m SO happy i’m not the only one who didn’t know you could turn up the intensity of the medela pump!!! my lactation consultant realized it two days post partum and i felt like SO stupid for not knowing what to do 😂
Great info, I had probably over 20 milk blebs. You don't have to go get them lanced you can get them yourself. I would notice a section of the breast would clog (being rock hard/pressure). So you get in a hot shower, bath, and you can work it out with your thumb & finger starting at the back of the breast and then pulling outwards toward nipple. It's like a small grain of calcified milk that gets blocked in your nipple channel. Most times you can CLEARLY see the bleb..especially after you start working on it. I grabbed a needle and gently poked it and once I did the bleb fell out along with spewing several ounces of milk. The needle doesnt go far...dont freak out...its more like using it to scrape enough so it shoots out.
I've never heard anyone mention Sunflower lecithin before, I had to take that for blebs and blockages. Saved me and my son 8 years ago. Also, never heard a lot a good from hospital lactation consultants. Breastfeeding on demand and stay away from the marketing of gadgets is truly cheaper and healthier for mom and baby.
Going on 15 months breastfeeding! My daughter had a cows milk protein allergy and soy protein allergy that she grew out of at a year old. Good for you mama, you’re rocking it.
Thank you so much for this video. I'm still expecting my little boy but I'm so afraid of not being able to breastfeeding. Everyone says it's gonna be easy but I'm scared that it won't. Thank you for making this video. 😘
Omg no one ever told me about that milk change I was concerned too she was getting frustrated latching on and I was like ok I guess she doesn’t want my milk anymore since it kept occurring where she would get frustrated I thought I just wasn’t making enough milk I stopped breastfeeding her shortly after and just gave her formula I really wish I knew this then I wouldn’t have stopped thank you so much for this I’m pregnant with my second baby and I know what more to expect this time around hopefully my breastfeeding journey is a lot better this time around thank you again for this video ❤️❤️
Can you please do a video on your diet and meals you eat, my baby might also be sensitive to dairy and it’s hard finding things to eat as almost everything has milk in it
Oh my goodness, good for you for powering through all of those issues! My son was a mini tank he just latched and nursed with no issues on my end. But this is great to know as every baby is different and my second is due this spring!

Thank you!!
Post -p depression and breastfeeding ..
I just couldn’t do it.
I am very glad that so many women can do it.
Great video.
Me too
It is very normal for the milk supply to develop a few days after giving birth.
21 weeks and trying to learn what I need to do for baby girl so this video is AMAZING
Where were you when I was breastfeeding 😩 Honestly your advice is GOLD!
I just found your channel two days ago and have been hooked, thank you for being so helpful and transparent ❤
Thank you so much! I’m gonna really need this in 1 week and 6 days (hopefully sooner than later)🤰♥️ you always seem to come out with some much needed content for me. 😊
Yay!! I’m due around the same time!! 🤩 Cheers to ya!
@@Rowm222 GOOD LUCK ♥️ praying for a safe and fast delivery for you!
9 months preggo w/ our first, and needing all the REAL breast feeding info a momma can get! You are the absolute best. Your spunk and honesty are SO GREAT! 😎❤️
- And oh my gosh Arrow is SO adorable and getting SO big!!! 😍 what a healthy baby!
Milky mommas breastfeeding support group on facebook has been so much help for me. Every breastfeeding momma should join.
Want to get a new camera for my pregnancy and new born and I love the quality of your everyday videos!
loved this! theres nothing like watching and listening to real life situations! 🥛
I hope your healing journey goes well 🖤
@@adriennetalor16 oh wow i feel with you. This sucks. Thank you so much for your comment! Sending lots of love!!!
Thank you so so much for these videos! I'm having my first baby next month and your videos have been so incredibly helpful. Please keep them coming!
I had this EXACT issue with my first daughter I gave up and just did formula. I’m expecting my second now. This is so good to know thank you!!!
You are so real about this!! I’m going through all of this at the moment and it’s so good to know I’m not alone 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I just became a FTM 5 days ago and the timing of this video could not have been better! Tysm
So informative! I’m preggo with baby #2 and I’m on a mission to try to fully breastfeed this time (had such difficulty with my first so I just gave up). All your tips will help so much!
Yes breastfeeding is so hard. I’m 3 months in and still trying to figure it out ! Thanks for the tips, I had no idea about to 3 month milk change
Omg, she's such a precious chunk! I love her! 💕 Great informative video.
Just love the way you are so open and confident
So I literally just started the 3 month supply change this week. THANK GOODNESS I had watched your video so I was prepared. Thank you!!!!!!!
I was waiting for this video from you, I knew you would be so transparent and informative 🙂
Which sunflower Lecithin did you buy?
I needed the shield for the first week and it was a pain but a savior at the same time! So thankful to be able to breastfeed
Just hitting 3 months of breastfeeding and these are all super helpful tips for new moms! I agree, they should definitely educate more on these topics.
I learned of the nipple shield from one of your past videos and it helped me! Thank you 😊
Oh my god ur baby is a living treasure so beautiful my god bless her 😍
❤️❤️❤️
Currently breastfeeding. Such helpful raw content as per usual 🥰 Thank you
Awesome video!! Two questions:
This made me feel so much better thinking about supplementing with formula. I’m so glad your journey worked out for you!
I love this! I actually thought it was too short, I could listen (and watch) you talk about this for hours! My daughter is just hitting 3 months so I appreciate the reminder about the supply change 🙌🏼 and the sunflower lecithin 🤞🏼 THANK YOU!
I’m pregnant and planning to breastfeed, and i found this video suuuper helpful.
It is hard though as you know lol my little one will be 5 months next week 🥺
i’m SO happy i’m not the only one who didn’t know you could turn up the intensity of the medela pump!!! my lactation consultant realized it two days post partum and i felt like SO stupid for not knowing what to do 😂
Thank god I came across your page ! 💕
I’ve been anxious about breastfeeding. I’m due in 3 months so I’m trying to prepare myself . Learning so much!
My baby is due any day now. Thank you so much for this and all your mummy videos ❤️
