Absolutely. This was most definitely my childhood. I still remember eating peanut butter out of the jar and eating heart candies endlessly while spending hours making Prince Tricky change colors, and beating the absolute hell out of those gem trees. I get goosebumps whenever I listen to the ancient well music..
I completed it for the first time a few days ago. It takes me back to when Star Fox wasn’t dead due to Nintendo’s perennial negligence of their highest potential IPs.
The soundtrack + themes and visual design? Yes. The game? IDK man barrel puzzle #204 and "find the switch on the wall and shoot it" #84 get tiring. The scripted sequences are mostly QTE-based (test of fear, that lightfood village strength challenge). The story is terrible. Hey, general scales this is big bad, cool villain, oh you wanted to fight him? Nope, he just fucks off and now you fight Andross who was the real master behind everything even though it's poorly explained. Dinosaur Planet would have been a great game until it was hurt by Star Fox inclusion. It is worth playing to completion at least once though but I've owned this game since like, 2002, and I've only beaten it twice since (once as a child, once again as a curious adult). Never had a desire to pick it up again.
I still remember the early Saturday mornings, had a long week of spelling tests in 1st grade so I finally got to “relax”, I’d pop the disk in, stay in my room, got some chocky milk, plopped onto the ground and started playing this masterpiece of a game. The smell of my mom cooking dinner flooded my room as my heart is flooded with memories as I speak upon it. Good times. As soon as I hit post, I’m busting out the GameCube, the chocky milk, and putting it in my room to revive some memories.
Played this game when I was like 8-10 I’m 28 now, I always come back to watch game play and listen to the music, hopefully one day Nintendo will remaster it but I have little hope😭😭
I don't think Nintendo ever will but I am working on a project (meant for emulators) to remake all of the game's textures in higher resolution and replace as many of the the sound effects as possible with uncompressed version.
The game has a licensing problem, RareWare owns the rights to the title. You'll probably end up having to play it through an Emulator like Dolphin if you want it in HD.
This was my first Star Fox game and I loved it so much! It will always have a special place in my heart. I thought dinosaur planet was so beautiful and mysterious! I wish it was loved enough to get a remake with more Dinosaur Planet N64 content :( maybe someday
I can understand you, same for me, it was my first star fox game, and I love it! I still have my gamecube, and the game, after hearing these soundtracks I want to return to ThornTail Hollow ❤
David Wise did an amazing job with this soundtrack. Hands down my favourite game and OST of all time. It's great to see people still commenting on and listening to this masterpiece 18yrs after it's release. Damn I feel old.
That transition to Cape Claw is clean af, This is literally my favorite game, I am so proud some of us recognize it as it is, I wouldn't even like it remastered, gamecube controller experience was something else (one of my favorite controller designs to date because of the distribution of the buttons).
I'm so happy y'all sharing your memories about this game. Starfox adventures also made my childhood. I remember always begging my brother to win the first race and get Tricky for me, this was impossible for me at that time lol. I'm glad to see this mix made some of you remind good times playing this game. Wish you all a great day!
You think that was hard?! Try winning against the buff guy in light foot village! I got so many hand cramps and had to ask my brother to help me, we even went as far as getting a different controller (which was stiffer) hoping that would help! And I only found out about a strategy to win against him a few months ago lol
@@Angie-oh6fp lol totally! My mom got me this game when I was 6 and we would try and figure out the hard parts together. I remember that first race was hard, we couldn't figure out right after that to get the golden carrot for the wolly mammoth, there was a ladder on dark ice mines we got stuck on because you had to go to the other side, and that dang light foot village test of strength was so hard. I remember almost giving up because my hand was so tired so I tried setting the controller down and using both pointer fingers and tha was the trick!
I have so many fond memories of this game as a child. I can’t even count how many times I replayed it. It was so much fun and I loved the story, characters, soundtrack, etc. I really hope one day we see a remake.
currently playing though this game on my gamecube after so many years, game still looks beautiful and sounds great despite its age, yes its not in todays standards but when i first played it when it came out it blew me away how good it looks

This was my favourite Gamecube game and I still often play it on the Wii. I absolutely love this soundtrack. Every piece transports me back to the game - and its so relaxing. Love the themes around Thorntail Hollow, especially 'night' which is just a beautiful magical piece of music. 🥰

I played this game again recently and it felt even better than when I was a kid! I was actually able to solve the puzzles which are really cool and engage with what the characters were saying! It's so sad many people don't like this game, I feel like it was a really good game.
My favorite game of all time. I know it gets looked down on but this was first game that “took” me to another world. Love the story, love the action, I replay the game once a year start to finish.
I am so thankful for this video. I read somewhere to listen to the track of my favorite video game and it would help me focus. I’m seriously hacking my brain right now and I’ve never been more focused on a task 😱😭❤️ Thanks for this!
I find it funny in hindsight how the gas puzzle song is like, 3 times longer than you'll take to actually do the puzzle. And you only get a single chance to hear it.
Been listening to this to sleep, as well as the Animal Crossing mix. You've got good taste and a good sense of what's actually relaxing. One of GameCube's best OSTs! Still listening to it on a regular basis

This soundtrack and entire game is so under appreciated.
It so is, and it’s because it was a step away from their regular starfox games but god was this a masterpiece
@@XxRosieDavisxX it was bascially a 3d zelda clone. But really well done
